Update* The shop did not appreciate my honest review of my experience and called the bride about their concerns. This is so beyond unprofessional that I cannot wrap my head around it. My review in no way should affect the bride, and this definitely does not call for upsetting the bride a month before the wedding. I will say that my friend (the bride) had nothing but fantastic things to say about the service that Mia and her team offered while she was looking for, and eventually bought, a wedding gown. This is why she decided to continue working with them while ordering bridesmaid dresses for the big day. I found out that I was pregnant right around the time that my friend put in the order for all of the dresses and then the shop was on a three week "vacation" with no access to email or phone (evidently they did not have access to phone prior to vacation either because none of my calls were returned). In the meantime, I realized that I would need a few sizes larger so I reached out to the shop and asked if it would be possible to size-up. After two weeks, I finally got an unprofessional response stating that I would not be able to change the size because it was too late after the order was put in. Unfortunately, had they not taken a month off with no availability for their customers I would have had the chance to change the size. In addition, they have a no refund policy because the dresses are "handmade in China" and "made-to-order." Long story short, you can buy the same Amsale dresses from Nordstrom's website and not go through the hassle that they may or may not put you through. I wouldn't recommend going here if you're looking for any flexibility at all. read more

An absolutely great place for wedding dress shopping! I went with my mom and two sisters and they gave us a ton of privacy and space to really make our appointment memorable. After trying on many dresses, I purchased an Anna Campbell Adelaide dress that was absolutely stunning. Garnish is one of the only boutiques in the country that sells this designer and I was so lucky to have come across it there. Would definitely recommend to any brides to be looking for a really cozy place to find their dress! read more

I spent a long day of dress shopping in the Baltimore area, and Garnish was by far my favorite. First, Mia is fantastic. She knew that whether or not I bought a dress from here she was going to be just fine and she acted accordingly. She was chill, helped me in and out of gowns, and was cool with my peeps. There was a good and diverse selection of gowns - not huge, but enough to keep you busy. The store was cute, small, clean and overall extremely welcoming. I'm not sure if I'm going to buy the dress I really liked at Garnish, but I want to really badly just because, in my opinion, this is the perfect wedding dress shopping experience. read more

Love love love this boutique! The decor is beautiful. The experience you receive for such an important day, such as wedding dress shopping, was fabulous. I was so happy that they gave me a tour of their showroom and dresses and I was allowed to pick my own dresses to try on! I will absolutely be back and would highly recommend this to any bride or bridesmaid. Their dresses were just as beautiful as the boutique and the people helping you! read more

I was very happy with my experience here. Although I ended up finding "my dress" elsewhere, the consultants that I worked with at Garnish were extremely attentive and the owner was lovely. They pulled dresses that were very nice, allowed me to pull some of my own, and the atmosphere was very relaxed (I had the first appointment of the day and we started promptly on time). The boutique itself is also really lovely and bright. The dresses were pretty affordable, I think the most expensive one I tried on was $2,500 and there were definitely some in the lower $1,000 range. All-in-all great experience! read more

Fantastic experience and beautiful dresses! My stylist Megan was so kind, helpful, and warm to both myself and my party. I did get my dress from Garnish, but even if I hadn't, I would still give it 5 stars. read more

I have two daughters that got their dresses from Garnish. Mia is absolutely the best! We went to several other places and either the salespeople were snobs or crazy. They had great prices and carried beautiful dresses. Mia is never pushy and is one of the nicest people I have ever met! I wish the rest of the wedding process was as easy as this! read more

We just purchased my daughter's wedding dress from Garnish Boutique. This shop had more of a selection of dresses than the other bridal shops we went to. We worked with the owner, Mia, and she was beyond helpful, very welcoming, courteous and so knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Garnish Boutique and Mia! read more

I went to 4 boutiques in total and Garnish was by far my favorite, even more than some very upscale places I visited in San Francisco, where I live. Mia, one of the owners, has a very relaxed yet supportive attitude as soon as you walk in. I did not feel pressured at all. I visited the store because of the Jim Hjelm collection they carry and Mia was very familiar with all the dresses they had in the store. I did end up buying my dress there and it was perfect...including an extremely competitive price. I love when I can support local business without feeling like I'm spending a lot of extra money. I would highly recommend this boutique to anyone, especially if you have already visited some other stores and have felt overwhelmed/pressured by the experience. read more

This place is amazing!!! I would much rather be in jeans and tshirt for my wedding but I don't think people would be very happy with me :) So I was dreading wedding dress shopping from the beginning but the Garnish Boutique made it an amazing experience and had beautiful dresses! My wedding dress adventure started off horrible. I had been to three places before I went to Garnish Boutique and I was ready to say FORGET IT!! hateful sales people, cheaply made dresses that looked like halloween costumes. I am not a dress person so I'm really picky when I do wear a dress. When I got to the Garnish Boutique I was in a horrible mood and almost in tears, after the day I had dress shopping. The girl, jen, that helped me, I think could tell I was not in the mood to look or try on anymore. She was very sweet from the beginning and made me feel right at home. The layout of the store is very nice. She welcomed me, my mother and my best friend and just took us on a tower around the store. She asked me about the style of dress I was looking for, asked me if I had any pictures I could show here, and than talked to me about my budget. I was looking for around 2000 at the time. She layed out the areas around the store that had the type of dresses I was looking for, and that stayed within my price point. She left us to ourselves to look and pull dresses that we liked. She went to set up a dressing room and would come out occasionally to take the things we pulled, and to see if we had any questions and we leave us to ourselves again. It was really nice. I didn't feel like a sales person was breathing down my neck or pushing things on me. Once she saw everything we pulled, she pulled one or two things that she thought I would like that I may have missed. They brought my mom and friend over to the sitting area, which is adorable and comfortable. The owner came out at that time and introduced herself to us and was very friendly. She thanked us for coming, gave us her contact infor and told us she would be back to check on us and told us to reach her at anytime if we needed anything. Next, came on trying everything on. Which I was dreading. Everything I had tried on elsewhere, I hated, and felt like I looked like I gained 20lbs with every dress. All the dresses I pulled at the Garnish Boutique were the exact opposite. I loved every single one I tried on. I couldn't decide. The dresses were made so much better, and light weight. Jen helped me in all the dress and really clipped and pinned them perfectly to my shape. The entire time we were trying things on, we never really discussed dresses. She was so friendly and kind, that we just joked around about every day things. I let her know that I was not planning on buying that day because I wanted to let me father come look at the dress that I decide on before I buy. She didn't seem to care a bit. We kept going, and I just kept falling in love with everything. I left there with a list of dresses that I needed to decide from. I can't express into words how amazing my experience at the Garnish Boutique was. Since I have been there, my budget for my dress has had to be cut. I have looked at a few other places and nothing compares to the dresses and the experience I had here. I actually purchased a dress at another store that my family feel in love with and I have been kicking myself for ever since. I don't like the dress becuase nothing can compare to those dresses, or the experience. I have the dress I bought, listed for sale online and I will be back to the Garnish Boutique for the dress I want. It is worth spending a few more dollars for the quality and the experience you receive from there. Absolutely amazing employees and amazing quality gowns. read more

Mia was wonderful- she helped a ton but wasn't pushy (while still offering help/ suggestions) and listened to requests and my style. She was much more patient and laid back than any other store I went to. I really felt like it wasn't a job for her but what she enjoys to do, and that came across in the way she treated us. I went twice, and both times were wonderful experiences. read more

Went to Garnish with my mom and sister (the bride). Mia made us all feel so welcomed, gave honest feedback, and was so respectful of all of our opinions, especially the bride. She was training a new employee, who was also wonderful, and giving her tips along the way, while still managing not to distract any attention from the bride. Such a great experience! read more

I planned to go wedding dress shopping with my friends and family but wanted to check out a few shops on my own before that. I went to a few poplar boutiques in the area but I began to feel worried because I didn't find any dresses that I liked within my budget and it also felt like consultants wouldn't take their time to help me because of my budget. I decided to check out garnish boutique on a whim and I was instantly impressed by the selection of gowns. They were well organized by style and designer. I met Mia and another employee & instantly felt more comfortable than I had felt at the previous stores I visited. The girls were very nice and patient from the beginning. Mia was knowledgeable and sweet and gave me honest opinions which I felt good about because it didn't seem like she just wanted me to spend the most money. I ended up falling in love with a Pronovias gown & the best part was it was on sale and below my budget! Thank you Mia and Garnish boutique for helping me find my dream dress!! read more

I had come into Garnish Boutique, wanting to really try on this dress by Stella York. It was not the first store I had gone to.  I went to another store in NJ. On the inside Garnish is beautiful, however I never felt so sad or upset about my body/my weight/image. Once I got engaged, I started working out with a personal trainer, and started getting more in shape. The store owner, Mia, said, the sample dress I wanted, was on sale, and if I wanted to buy it, I could buy it and lose weight in time for my wedding, November 3, 2018, and that some brides use it as motivation to lose weight. She also stated that they do not carry sizes larger than a 12 (So, if you know you are busty, or curvaceous, I would not recommend coming to this store to try dresses on, because who would buy a dress without actually trying it on??!!)  I had been emailing the owner,Mia, and asked what size the dress was, prior to going to the boutique,  knowing that I would not be able to fit in a 10 or smaller in bridal dresses. I made the 35 minute trip out there, only to be told it was a 10. She went on to say, "They do not carry plus size dresses, even though she said, I was not plus size,  and to try out another store called Amanda Ritchey, where they will have more dresses in my size and budget." I just started shopping for dresses and I had no real budget in mind, but if I LOVED a dress, I would not have hesitated buying it, no matter what the price for it. My reception outfit is an Indian outfit, so at this point, I am not shell shocked with pricing, since my reception outfit is going to cost way more than my gown, because of all the beadwork, and work going into it. Mia then recommended that they can order the dress in my size, but why would I pay for a dress not knowing how it would look on me, or a general idea of how it would look? Very upset with this store, and basically being told I am not skinny enough for their dresses unless I lose weight. I will be taking my business elsewhere and will not recommend this store. read more

I had shopped at a few bridal stores and by far this was my favorite! Mia was wonderful, helpful and as the other reviews also say, she is chill and not pushy at all. My best friend and I were both shopping and we had an entourage with us. We all loved the place! Unfortunately neither of us bought our dress there, but if Garnish had had "the" dress or carried the designer, I would have bought it from Mia in a heartbeat. I would recommend this shop to anyone. A very cute shop with a knowledgeable owner and good selection. read more

I went to Garnish with the intent of purchasing a dress I had ordered to try on that day. Mia asked me if there was anything else I would be interested in looking at and thank god she did! I picked a Tara Keely to try on just for kicks because it looked like the style I was going for. I am so grateful I did because the moment I was in this dress I felt like a real bride. Mia was so helpful and not acting pushy or rushed like some of the other places I have gone. The boutique is adorable and she is so helpful. I am so glad I checked out this lovely boutique!!! read more

Although Garnish is only 20 minutes from where we live, I had never heard of it until my daughter say an ad featuring a dress she liked and she found on the Internet that "Garnish" carried Amy Kuschel. As soon as we entered the boutique, we relaxed and took in the tranquil and elegant atmosphere - it's really beautifully arranged. Mia is an absolute delight! She is the quintessential wedding gown consultant! She's very sweet and knowledgable and went to a lot of trouble for us, ordering the sample dress that my daughter liked to be sent from SanFrancisco for her to try on. I am the mother of the bride and I am very grateful for "Garnish" and Mia. I highly recommend them. read more

Garnish is a beautiful shop. It felt like the most high end of all the shops I visited, although they did actually have a decent selection of off-the-rack dresses which were reasonably priced. Great selection, nice layout of the store with dresses categorized by style so it's easy to find what you're looking for. This is a shop you go to dream and be inspired. Mia was great, my only complaint was that she only alloted me an hour and then had to leave for an appointment, and it would have been nice to know about that in advance so I could have planned my time better or made another appointment time. She said that an hour appointment is standard, but it seems like it would be easy to take longer than that when trying on the many gorgeous dresses. This shop is definitely worth a visit. read more

Cannot thank Jen and Mia enough for a lovely visit. I'm not a typical bride-to-be, I don't like stripping down in front of others, and I don't like pushy salespeople. For someone like me, Garnish was perfect. Jen couldn't have been more easygoing and friendly as she underwent the workout of putting dresses over my head over and over again and then clipping them up the back. Mia stopped by every now and then and was just as casual cool in person as she was on the phone. I should have known this would be the tone when I called to make the appointment and Mia kindly just took my name and number without demanding to know my wedding date like so many other vendors. The store is beautiful, smelled wonderful (sounds silly but when it's that pleasantly noticeable, it's worth saying), and I was so pleasantly surprised they let you go through the gowns yourself. I also really liked how they only take one appointment at a time, so when you're there, it's just you. Baltimore is lucky to have such a quality salon. Fresh, current, and kind. Merci to Jen for being so gracious and merci to Mia for running such a delightful place. read more

I love this place! My daughter (second daughter in our family to get married) purchased her gown here a few months ago for her June 2018 wedding. The shop was recommended by our wedding designer/ planner (along with a couple of other shops.) From the moment we walked into this beautiful and cozy boutique, we were greeted in a warm manner by both the owner, Mia, and our consultant. They have a wonderful selection of beautiful gowns (without it being over whelming like other stores!) They make you feel comfortable and allow you to look through the gowns but also help you zero in on what you are looking for. They are not pushy at all and never did we feel pressure to purchase anything. There is also a very nice selection of accessories and my daughter purchased earrings here too. I also want to note that my daughter wants to wear her sister's veil as "something borrowed" so we brought it to her dress "try on" appointment yesterday and Mia was extremely helpful with positioning it so we could take pictures. There was no pressure to purchase a veil from them, just genuine desire that my daughter was happy. We drove an hour and a half from our home to go to this shop and it was worth it. read more

There are not enough nice things I can say about this shop. I originally made an appointment in early April, it was the first shop I visited. I had an amazing experience, I worked with Jen and another girl who was training (it was her first or second shift and I am so sorry that I don't recall her name). The two of them were wonderful!! I went in with absolutely no idea of what I wanted. They didn't make me feel badly for this and instead helped me pick out dresses of all styles. We eventually were able to figure out that I definitely had a preference to one particular style and then we focused on that for the rest of my appointment. When my hour was up, I had definitely taken a liking to one particular dress but I knew I was going to look at a few shops in North Carolina so my mom could be with me for the experience. There was ZERO pressure from Jen to make a purchase that day which was very nice. Fast forward a few weeks, I went to visit my mom and went to 4 different shops in NC. I found a dress down there that I liked but knew I wanted to go back and re-try on the dress I liked at Garnish so I made another appointment. Mia and Jen were both there this time and helped me out, since I was alone! Within a few moments of putting the original dress back on, I was sold but wanted to show my mom pictures and discuss before purchasing - I cannot emphasis this enough, Mia and Jen were SO understanding of this and again absolutely zero pressure. I ended up getting my mom on the phone and we agreed that I found my dress! So I purchased it that day. I'm tall and have been eyeing pretty high heels that I want to wear on my big day so the length was a bit of a concern for me. Mia picked up the phone and called the dress shop in San Francisco on the spot to see what they could do for me. Within 5 minutes the dress shop called back and agreed they could give me all the additional length I required (this was an extra charge but that is normal). WOW! I feel a need to mention the difference in customer service that I experienced at Garnish compared to the other 4 shops I visited - Garnish was hands down in a completely different league than the others. I never once felt like I was being "sold" on something, instead I felt like I had people working WITH me to find what was best FOR me. Every single person I dealt with at Garnish was incredibly sweet and made me feel like I was working with friends who truly cared more about ensuring I was happy over than making a sale, which I appreciate so much. I'm beyond happy I was able to give my business to Garnish and I look forward to my dress coming in and finishing the entire experience with such a wonderful and professional group of people. If you're looking for a dress, please go to Garnish and give them the opportunity to make you as happy as they have made me. read more

I went to Garnish as my first stop on a whirlwind tour of DC bridal stores- and I fell in love. Not only with the dress, but the atmosphere. Maggie, my personal stylist, was AMAZING. We arrived a bit early, but she was welcoming and ushered us into the adorable boutique. Unlike my later experiences at other places, Garnish made me feel comfortable and welcomed. The suite was private and spacious, we were offered drinks and had our own personal space despite other appointments ongoing. Even though my budget was low, Maggie was enthusiastic about finding me the perfect dress (and I found one I loved!). She worked with my budget and with my individual personality to help find me a dress unlike any other. I felt at home at the store, and when I walked out, I realized that I didnt feel a bit of stress throughout the entire event. Maggie listened to what I wanted and pulled some dresses that flattered my body, and matched my dress with the perfect hair piece. (I didnt want to take it off!) Also, the owner is always around the salon and was present to answer any questions about ordering/sizing/alterations etc. Oh, and they let you take pictures; this boutique is relaxed, laid back, and quaint. I highly recommend coming here for your dress. The experience is one that can not be topped-- Its one of the best ranked in Maryland for a reason. read more

My experience with Mia (the owner at Garnish Boutique) was nothing short of amazing! She made my entire bridal party feel welcome and made me (the bride) feel extremely comfortable. There was NO hard sales pressure at all. I had told Mia in advance the dresses I was specifically looking for (Garnish is one of the only boutiques in MD that sell Jim Hjelm gowns), and she ordered samples so I would be able to try them all on. (For a nominal fee). Everything was there and ready when I showed up with my party! She only sees one bride at a time so you literally have the store to yourself for your appointment hour! The store has enough selection that you feel that you have enough choices but is still small enough to not get overwhelmed. Her staff is gracious and helpful without overstepping. I seriously cant say enough good things about them! I did end up finding and buying my dream dress thanks to her! It was a lovely experience and I recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, relaxing, beautiful day with friends and family!! read more
