I was in a time crunch to find a dress off the rack. I made my appointment for the next day. I was warmly welcomed by Marae and asked if I had an inspiration pic. I did and when she saw it she said "I think I have the perfect dress for you!" I was skeptical but oh my goodness did she deliver-AND IT FIT!! I had my dream dress in under 5 minutes! And she was beyond super patient while I tried to get my difficult elderly mom on FaceTime with my sister to look at the dress. Couldn't imagine a better experience. Thank you so much!! read more

What a fantastic experience we had at Gamberdellas today! After a number of false starts and failed online orders from a national retainer, we decided to FINALLY go to see the professionals at a bridal salon. Gamberdellas was highly recommended. We had a warm welcome upon arrival, we met our bridal consultant, Marae (apologies if I have misspelled), and she spent a few minutes speaking with my daughter about her likes and dislikes. Marae then arrived with a few dresses. The first dress my daughter tried was a huge hit. Marae showed her a few more dresses and then suggested she try on the first dress. Well THAT WAS IT! Marae then added an absolutely perfect vail and instantly my daughter (and me for the that matter) started to cry. She said yes to the dress! My daughter spent 4 months in search of the dress of her dreams and in less than 45 minutes at Gamberdellas, she hit the gold mine. I have shopped and bought the world over and this store ranks among the tops because it has the full package. Teresa and owner Mary are sincere, honest and will go to extreme measures to satisfy you. My only regret is that I did not realize they had more than dresses for the bride and bridesmaids, but also extraordinary choices of formal dresses for all occasions! I received excellent service at Gamberdellas from the moment I stepped into the store. I walked in not knowing what I was looking for in a dress. When Mary asked me, I literally said "white." She told me she had the perfect dress for me and brought out stunning gowns. The first one she had my try on was the one I ended up getting and I could tell she knew exactly what she was doing. She is honest and knows the most flattering dresses for her brides. I was so overwhelmed in other bridal stores with all the dresses and styles and also felt that the sales ladies at other stores only told me what they thought I wanted to hear. But Mary and the staff at Gamberdellas are relaxed and made the experience so much fun and less intimidating. Will recommend this bridal shop to all my friends in the future! read more

Mary, Clare, Jen and the entire Gamberdella team is absolutely amazing and accommodating! In April of 2019, my daughter found her dream dress at a salon in Denver, where she was living at the time. However, she soon thereafter moved back to the east coast. Gamberdella carried dresses by the designer but not the exact dress my daughter wanted. Mary Gamberdella had a sample of the dress shipped to her salon from the designer in NYC. We wound up ordering that dress from Gamberdella in May of 2019. My daughter's first fitting was in February, 2020 for her June, 2020 wedding. Then Covid hit. Her wedding was then postponed 2 more times until she finally got married in May, 2021. Gamberdella kept her dress in safe keeping for over 1 year until my daughter could safely return for fittings. My daughter had several fittings and because she lives in Boston, she often needed fittings that were outside of Gamberdellas normal business hours. Nothing was ever too much trouble for Mary and her team! We have found a new set of friends! Thank you, thank you to Mary and her team for such a professional, positive and fun experience! If you are totally into rude service, a dirty atmosphere, and hideous dresses, then this is the place for you! I made a bridal appointment to try on wedding gowns with my Mom. We were QUICKLY ushered past the show room and locked into a tiny, old room with filthy floors and scraped walls. They could've at least vacuumed! The "bridal consultant" never cracked a smile, never said "you're welcome" to any of my thank yous, and did not even ask where I was getting married, what time of year, what vibe is my wedding, NOTHING! How in the world are you going to pick a wedding gown for me without asking any of those questions? The only thing she asked was my budget. She was incredibly rude and made no effort to make the experience nice for myself or my Mother. You couldn't pay me to return there! read more

This is NOT the place to go if you want to have a positive and fun experience buying your wedding gown. I went to Gamberdella with my mom and two sisters from out of town after having made an appointment early in the week. When we got there we checked in and were told to wait a few minutes for some help. 45 minutes later a lady was finally available to help us. When she asked me what type of dress I wanted, I told her the styles and cuts. She then asked my budget, which I told her was around 1500-2000. I guess that wasn't high enough for her, because she immediately stopped being friendly, became disinterested, and left us in the dressing room for another twenty minutes. When she returned she brought with her three of the ugliest dressed I have ever seen. They were literally made out of spandex and had NOTHING in common with the style I told her I was interested in. They also smelled of body odor. I tried two on, was obviously not happy and explained to her again that I wanted something different and name a designer that I knew I was interested in. She proceeded to run off her mouth for ten straight minutes stating that she knew the designer personally and didn't like them. She even had the nerve to make politically incorrect remarks about the designer' sexual orientation. After another 20 minute disappearance, during which my sister went out to look for her and found her chatting with a friend on the phone, she returned, (without dresses) but with a co-worker, who I believe was one of the managers. The two proceeded to talk about the designer and said nothing about the dresses that I had been waiting for. I politely but firmly told them that I had no interest in their story, changed out of the third hideous dress she had brought me, and told my sisters and mom it was time to leave. This woman so poorly represented Gamberdella with her tacky, trash-talking attitude and complete disinterest in finding me a dress that was obviously below a price point that SHE wanted to work with. I would NEVER go there again and STRONGLY discourage anyone else from doing so. read more

Had an absolute magical day with Mary and her crew! They were very polite to me and my friend she are new to the whole dress buying experience. Mary is very good at what she does, all the dresses picked for me were spectacular! They aren't pushy or suggestive and really take the time to let you decide. As snobby as I am about fashion and quality I was so impressed with Mary's collection. Not sure what's with the negative reviews but sometimes you have to go and find out for yourself. I did not have a good experience at this shop. It seemed as though their selection was limited and you are unable to view any of the dresses, as they are located in the back. The staff wasn't very helpful and seemed inconvenienced by myself and the group of ladies I brought with me. After an hour of being there, India said our appointment was over and didn't even see us out, she just disappeared. I would not recommend this place. There are so many better bridal boutiques in the area with better selection and friendlier staff. read more

I understand that their building is under construction so thats an added challenge but, I did not have a good experience here. Once my appointment started I went upstairs into a room and I was left with describing what I wanted to the bridal consultant. It would have been helpful if I could have at least looked around a little. Things look so different in real life compared to online. When you only have an hour appointment to try on dresses that 6-7 dresses. Even with me telling the consultant I did not want a strapless dress she brought me 3 strapless dresses to try on. Of the dresses they brought me I had absolutely no interest in trying on half of them. And the argument of "we can add straps," I don't feel like is a good enough of a reason to be forced into strapless dresses when there are many other styles with straps. My experience here made me really disappointed and I felt defeated. I did not want to look for a dress after my experience here. Luckily a couple weeks went by and I tried again, unenthusiastically, I went to a different Salon and found my dress! read more

I could go on and on and tell all details but I will spare you the long review. All in all, this store clearly has awful communication amongst their employees as I was told different things from different people. I was told that I would be contacted when my dress was ready, and I wasn't. I had to call a week before the wedding to see if it was ready and they said it had been ready for a "while"!! I had cancelled the hem alteration, but they did it anyway due to lack of communication then asked me to pay for it! I obviously refused to pay for that so they said that was fine. When I asked to speak to the owner, one girl said she would call me in an hour, when I called the next day, a different girl said the owner was out of town. So which was it.....? After having several disheartening experiences at high-end boutiques, from Annapolis to Towson. I can say that my experience with Gamberdella was a breath of fresh air. I was overwhelmed and overstressed with the thought of looking through yet another store of dresses that just were not cutting it. When I came to Gamberdella I was presented with unique dresses and ultimately found my dream dress. I was offered several different styles of dresses, not just what the sales person thought would look good on me..which had happened to me at several other places. If I could give a minus 5 stars I would. This poor excuse for a dress shop has been providing very subpar quality, and quite unattractive dresses for Notre Dame Prep graduation for quite a while. Unfortunately everyone in the senior class is required to purchase these overpriced, hideous dresses. Not only are the dresses over priced, they are so poorly made its as if they were constructed by a 5th grade sewing class. No hems, and virtually made of tissue paper from the cheapest fabric money can buy. Even a simple phone call to inquire about an up charge for extra fabric (my daughter is tall) resulted in the owner becoming very rude and extremely agitated as if she gets these types of calls on a daily basis. Anyone considering this place should run for the hills. I plan to tell everyone I know. read more

I was unfortunate enough to buy a bridesmaid dress here. I felt there was an inability to communicate information. We were quoted 15 weeks, our dresses took around 20 weeks. The store said it was a delay with the designer which I fully recognize that is beyond their control. However, they did not communicate the change with us and didn't' seem to want to deal with us when we called for an update. We quickly approached the wedding date with no bridesmaids dresses, causing great angst among the group and specifically for the bride. Our dresses needed to be altered(as they were long) and we felt we were getting to crunch time. Brides have enough to worry about without the added stress of their bridesmaid's dresses. They seemed disinterested in our concerns regarding timing and alterations and I felt I was a burden or annoyance every time I called. In the end, we got our dresses with enough time to have them all altered and ready for the big day, but not without significant stress along the way. Maybe I'm crazy, but I thought in this business customer care is what it's all about. read more

I switched between three different consultants during my appointment (even though I had been booked for an hour and a half), and there was minimal/poor communication between consultants, with each new one asking "where we were in the process" and asking yet again about what type of dress I was looking for, which wasted a lot of appointment time. They did not even offer up an apology or reason for my initial consultant having to leave to attend to another client- just called her away. They make you fill out a form online prior to the appointment describing exactly what you want, however the initial consultant clearly hadn't even read the form (so why make us fill it out then?). Everyone was overall friendly which is why there are two stars, however it came across as they were only interested in getting you to spend the money, as opposed to making you truly feel like a bride. I can't say enough good things about my experience at Gamberdella. From the moment I walked in the doors, Mary and her amazing team welcomed me with open arms. It was so obvious from the minute my appointment started, these ladies knew their stuff. They were immediately pulling dresses I never would have even imagined to pull because they new it would fit my body, vision, and budget. They knew their designers, dresses, and styles better than any other salon I had been to. They made me feel so beautiful during the whole appointment and truly felt like their one goal was to find me that perfect dress. It sounds silly to say, as this should be every bridal shop's goal, but let me tell you Gamberdella went above and beyond my expectations compared to what other shops could barely meet. It breaks my heart to say that I fell in love with a dress at another store because I so greatly wanted to purchase my dress from Gamberdella. After going to 5 different bridal shops in my dress search, Gamberdella's employees, customer service, and pure passion was unbeatable. I would put my 100% trust in these women and can not thank them enough for the amazing experience they gave me during such a special time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND to any bride out there. read more

LADIES, DO NOT GIVE GAMBERDELLA YOUR BUSINESS. My daughter went for her bridesmaid dress fitting and was told by the seamstress to lose weight. (She is a size 10). When my daughter asked her to just make the necessary alterations, she was told she'd look much better overall if she just lost weight. When brought to the manager's attention, she responded saying that sometimes that gives girls the motivation they need. I cannot believe this! When did fat shaming beautiful, young women become acceptable?! read more

RUN!! Gamberdella's ruined my wedding dress. I purchased my wedding dress here and they ended up ordering the wrong size. We kept telling the owner and the seamstress that it was too big, however, they kept assuring us that they " dealt with this all the time" and that they would make it fit like a glove. After 10 plus fittings, they made one final alteration the night before my wedding and destroyed my wedding dress. It was so bad that the owner admitted it was not fixable and that I would have to wear a sample gown that they had. I didn't get to wear my own wedding dress on my wedding day and I will never get the opportunity to. They ended up having to clean the sample dress and fit it to me the morning of my wedding. They STILL altered it wrong and I ended up not being able to wear a corset under my dress leaving it gaping in the chest area in my wedding photos. Please don't risk you wedding day here - go somewhere else! read more

This was the only boutique that offered the dress that the bride wanted her bridesmaids to wear. I personally live in Germany but the other 5 bridesmaids traveled over two hours to be measured for dress sizes. When I called in with my measurements, it took me seven tries before someone answered the phone in a two day time span. When I gave her my measurements, the manager advise me (like she did all the girls) that the dresses ran small and suggested we all got a size bigger. They also promised that the dresses would take no longer than ten weeks to come in. Unfortunately the dresses were three weeks late. Not only that, but they acted like they were irritated towards us when we kept inquiring about the dresses. To add salt to the wound, the dresses do not run small at all.... The run very, VERY big. To the point that all six of our dresses have to be completely reconstructed. And if that's not enough, the bottom of one of the girl's dress was damaged, so now we literally have three weeks and have to shell out another couple hundreds of dollars again to get this mistake fixed and in time. I wouldn't recommend this place in the slightest. The bride probably would have never picked it if it wasn't for one specific dress considering on every other site, they have absolutely terrible reviews. read more

My experience at Gamberdella was amazing. I had been to 2 other bridal shops prior to my appointment at Gamberdella and tried on 20+ gowns. When I walked into the shop, it had warm presence with fireplace lit. Mary, the owner, was welcoming and very bridal savvy, having been in the business for 36+ years. Her assistant, Katie, was easy to talk to and very sweet. I was able to try on dresses in a private room with my mom, sister and 2 of my best friends seated comfortably around me. Every dress I tried on was beautiful (unlike some of the other places I had been) and the lace selection was amazing and affordable. After trying on approximately 10 dresses, I had found the one! Prior to Gamberdella, I was skeptical that I would find a dress I loved. I could have picked any of the dresses I tried on there and been very happy :). I highly recommend making an appointment at Gamberdella for any bride. The experience was special; the advice from Mary was excellent and the dress selection was amazing. read more

Our bridal party had a HORRIBLE experience at Gambardella's, with the owner no less. She basically insulted and shamed my two friends who are over weight and flat out told one of them she was too big for the dress--she recently had a baby btw, and the owner asked her how long ago and was shaming her for not losing the baby weight yet. They offered no tailor to come out and explain how they could make the dress work to her size, or if they could order extra fabric just in case. THE OWNER IS MEAN AND COMPLETELY UNACCOMMODATING! In hind sight if I was a little more brave I would have reached across the desk and tore up the contract I already signed and said I was taking my money elsewhere. I just couldn't believe that had happened. This is supposed to be a happy day and a celebration, not a day for shaming someone's body. NO ONE DESERVES TO BE TREATED LIKE THAT!
