Unfortunately really not good. Ordered two kinds of nachos on a Sunday and both were unenjoyable. The steak nachos have really tough, tasteless and chewy steak. The carnitas is a little better but not great. Rubbery cheese, a few long slices of pepper that I think is meant to be jalapeño but didn't taste like it, maybe another green pepper was substituted or it was a very very mild and vinegary jalapeño- either way the strips as a garnish were not what I would want for nacho jalapeños. I know nachos often don't deliver well and I took that into consideration, for example I dont judge chip consistency for delivery, or overall temperature etc. but even comparing these to standard late night bars and food trucks that deliver nachos around Stamford, I wouldn't order again. read more

Absolutely amazing Mexican food for cheap too. I live in Queens and Jackson Heights / Roosevelt Ave has the most authentic Mexican food there is. Aside from there, I would not think Stamford CT would have good Mexican food. Boy was I wrong. Stumbled upon this place when my GF was using the Yelp app on my phone (life saver if you want to explore a new town). I love it when I get better than I expect. I came here before with a co worker for lunch. Got a nice little platter with wings, taco, and fries. Pretty decent. Now what I encountered on this late afternoon was something worth returning. I'm from Brooklyn so Mexican food is in abundance In my borough as well as queens... Zero stars. Ordered for delivery, waited over an hour for the food. The delivery person changed, there was no contact from delivery service or restaurant. The restaurant hung up on me and then did not answer again. Finally the order was cancelled after over an hour of waiting with no contact. Given today was probably busy, a decent restaurant would have explained the wait time was longer than usual or that they could not support the order so their costumers would not wait for nothing. Would not support this local business during this time and will never order from here again. read more

The food is awful! It has made me sick every time. The prices are super cheap but the quality and taste is lacking a bit. It's not true authentic Mexican food either. It's a worse version of Taco Bell, I think. I know Mexican food as I'm from Southern California and am a snob when it comes to true delicious Mexican food. Worst customer service ever! I ordered a chicken burrito. Went to pick it up, drove all the way home and then when I was starting to eat it, there was not one piece of chicken. The entire burrito had beans and rice on the inside and outside and that's it. When I called I politely told them there was an error in my order and if they could please send me a new order because I had lent my car to my sister. They refused to deliver. Then they put me on hold forever and this Colombian rude condescending female employee went on the line and said if you want a new order, bring the old one in and we can give you a new order. WTF! I can name 100s of restaurants that would 1. Deliver your food since they messed up in the first place and 2. Never ask for the old order back. I have to agree that this is the best Mexican restaurant in Stamford. It's not that great of a sit-down place, but if you want take-out or delivery, I can give my hearth reccomendation. They have dishes that go far beyond the usual taco and burrito combinations, including some amazing seafood entres. Unlike the previous reviewer, I've not had any bad experiences with their delivery....they told me 30 minutes and they were at my door in 30 mins. The food here is absolutely horrible, the meat tastes like cardboard. The owner is very rude, and so are the workers. They seem to be nice at first but when you tell them something they get mad. I walked in hoping to eat fresh Mexican food and ended up arguing with the owner , due to the bad quality of the meat. I returned the food after one bite and found that the meat was old and refrigerated and the owner still decided to charge me even though I didn't touch the plate. This restaurant has probably the best Mexican food in Stamford [sorry Hacienda]. The biggest and most irritating problem with this place is that their delivery stinks. The building I live in is somewhat difficult to locate, so I always make sure to include the cross streets and reference several known landmarks. Anyway, in the past, Garibadli has always been able to deliver food to my apartment [albeit, at an incredibly slow rate] however, my most recent order was a disaster. I placed an order at 7:00pm on a Thursday evening. The woman on the phone gave the total and said "about 30 minutes", which really means, 45 minutes in Garibaldi time. Anyway, it's 8:00 and my food is no where to be seen. So I ring the restaurant and I wait about 10 rings before someone answers. I'm told the order went out and should be there any minute. Ten minutes later, the restaurant calls me and says "the driver couldn't locate my building". So I repeat everything I previously told her about my address and location and she said they would "freshen our food up and it'll be there in 15 minutes". [freshen the food?] 9:00 comes around and still NO FOOD. So my boyfriend gives them a ring to figure out what the hell is the deal. They couldn't find the building for a SECOND time. At this point, I was over it and settled on ordering from Planet Pizza [which arrived only 20 minutes after we placed the order]. I guess if I really want Mexican from Garibaldi, it'll definitely have to be pick-up. read more

Got a few tacos as a mid afternoon snack. We ordered a chorizo, a beef and the al pastor. The beef was, well, nasty. The chorizo and al pastor were very good. We go by the Restaurant several times a week. We lived in México for 6 years and the food at Garibaldi's is extremely authentic. Excellent service, fiendly and courteous waitress; fresh and prepared to order hot food. Nice portions and fantastic flavour. Will go back more often and will take friends who also anjoy the food and the atmosphere. They have just about everything you could imagine on the menu. From Mexican favorites, to chicken parm.
