She took her time and when we were ready to order she stopped me in mid sentence and went to another table to get there order first when we had been there 20 minutes before them. The chips with the chips and salsa were stale and the nachos had some kind of liquid that made the chips soggy and gross (like someone opened a can a jalapenos and didn't drain it). So disappointed... very nice people but the food was at best ... Fair... but what was really bad was when I got sick from the pastry... I am a local and had herd reasonably good things about the place... so when my girl and I decided to have a staycation we thought we would try some places we haven't been... went for lunch... the guacamole was great but after that the food was at best... fair... So, we thought we would take home some pastries... At the time didn't we didn't give much thought to the fact that the pastry case was NOT REFRIGERATED... we bought some cookies and some pastry that looked like big croissants with some sort of filling... we asked and honestly I forget what she said they were filled with... we also bought a piece of taste looking chocolate cake with some white icing... So... off we went... a bit disappointed in the food but happy we had a snack dessert when we go home... We got home and weren't really hungry so left the pastry for later... we ate lunch around 1:00 p.m. Around 10:00 p.m. we thought... let's have a snack... Terri only ate a small bite of chocolate cake and just didn't want any more... I ate both croissants... they had a taste type of cream filling... they were ok... nothing to really rave about... in a couple of hours we were both feeling bad... Terri not as cause she only had a bite of the cake that had an icing on top... But for me... I was beginning a down spiral of pain and nausea... Then it fully hit... in the bathroom where for a while I thought I would need 911... I had never felt that way.... after about 30-40 minutes in the bathroom after being drained of everything in me and cold sweats and dizziness... a miracle... things began to calm down... I was going to survive... Conclusion... since everything was fine for hours after we got home... and we ate nothing else after eating their food and then I ate the pastry... it had to be the filling in the pastries... even my girl got sick... not even close to me but with some cramps an upset stomach cause she only ate a bite of the cake with the icing... so what dairy type filling and icing was in those pastries was the culprit... and the pastry case not being refrigerated... and the pastry case was very large... how could they sell all that pastry and keep a fresh turnover of fresh pastries... who knows how long the filled pastries were sitting there without refrigeration... I am so sorry to write my very first negative review ever... but it is all true... The place was so cute. Fabian was our waiter and he did an excellent job. The Mexican food was authentic and delicious. My husbands chorizo tacos were the best I've ever had. To top off a great meal the churros were melt in your mouth delicious. On the way out we had to stop and grab some bread because they looked irresistible. They tasted even better than they looked! Horrible food. My girlfriends and I went in to this place for the first time as it has 4.1 star review. However, my thin skirt steak was dry and burned. I ordered chicharrones thinking it's fried pork with skin as my husband is Puerto Rican and that's what it is for his culture. So I asked the server if it is friend pork. She says "yes". Then, I got home. It looks like fried tortilla of some sort but there was no pork in or on it. My girlfriends' food was also a disaster, very bland. I asked for chips and salsa but the salsa I got was some kind of hot sauce, not the type you dip your chips in. We ended up throwing most of our food way. Sorry but another disappointment...i ordered the taco meal (al pastor) and the tacos were literally swimming in grease, so much so that the tortillas split completely apart!!! The meat was definitely not from a rotisserie. The rice was spot on and plenty of it. The beans were...well they were ranchero beans, not bad but not the best. My wife had the "carne asada" plate but, again, it was not arronchera (skirt steak), i made it a point to ask the waitress for the type of meat used and she assured us that it was skirt steak...trust me, it was not. It had no flavor and was dry. The bakery caught us by surprise (not a good one). When we asked what was fresh, the girl behind the counter answered honestly and told us, only the turnovers???!!! We wanted Mexican food and eating here was like sitting in a little slice of Mexico. We only had sangria and nachos.

Drove about an hour and a half to try this place; it did not disappoint. Ordered 3 tacos and a tostada since I thought the tacos would not be enough, boy was I wrong the tacos were amazing and very filling and the tostada was equally great, washed it all down with a tamarindo drink. My wife was very happy with the food and agrees it's very authentic Mexican. We are already planning another visit soon. read more

This was the most incredible Mexican restaurant experience I have ever had. The atmosphere and music was great. The staff was friendly and attentive. The chips were home made and the salsa was fresh and so tasty. The flavors were unique and not too spicy. I got a couple chicken and beef tacos. My date got the chicken fajitas. The beef tacos were the best. They were served in an authentic style with loads of cilantro. We also picked up a few pastry treats. These were also freshly made and a unique taste. My tacos had a pretty minimal amount of chicken, which didn't bother me since the small amount that I did get was overcooked and chewy. The enchiladas were drowned in sauce and had the same, problematic chicken. The service was OK, but tried to charge us for the refills they brought. Maybe I'm spoiled by the excellent Mexican food in California, but this was pretty subpar. read more
