Went to purchase 2 power recliners, only a couple in the store and not once did anyone try to help us. Saw a couple employees sitting, as I walked up they got up and walked away. After waiting even longer with no help we left. Went to Bobs Discount and was helped right away! Bought 2 chairs total 1,300.00. Gardner White, you lost us as customers! Will not be back. Remember, your not the only furniture store around. read more

I bought 2 queen and 1 king mattress and box spring set. When delivery time came I was short 1 king box spring . The awesome delivery person took picture and emailed and called his manager and they were going to send out one that day. Well 3 weeks later I have been on phone for about 5 hours total. Talked with customer service twice and sales person all said it's all sat and will be delivered next day and I would receive text they day of delivery . No one calls you back! I know I sound like a Karen but I have never dealt with a business like this. I will buy from costco!! read more

10/14/19: Replacement Parts Order Debacle! My husband and I purchased new living room and dining room furniture from the Macomb (Hayes Road) store a couple of years ago and spent thousands of dollars! Earlier this year, I contacted the store's customer service department to order replacement cushions for 3 of my dining room chairs (cat damage) with the understanding that this would be at my expense. Twice the customer service representative tried to tell me that I couldn't order them because my warranty had expired - I had to clarify myself both times explaining I was well aware of that and that I was more than willing to pay for them. I just needed someone to place the order. On three separate occasions I was told that they had to "email the service department for a cost estimate". On three separate occasions I was promised a "call back". On three separate occasions, I had to follow-up back with the store only to have to continuously repeat my request! I just wanted to order the crazy cushions already!! Finally, I was exhausted with these failed promises and run around so I asked to speak to the Manager. I was directed to Jennifer (the new store/service manager). She was very pleasant and what seemed to be accommodating, reassuring me that this would once and for all be taken care of. At that time (late June/early July) we placed the order for three new cushions, which were paid in full ($120) at that time. She said they could take a few weeks to get in, but they would be shipped directly to me or I could pay additional $$ to have someone come out and install them. No thank you! That's ridiculous. I've called three other times since to check the status of those paid for cushions - 7/13 and talked to Alexis who would 'call me back': still waiting for that return call - 9/6 CSR said she would email the service department and request tracking info from the vendor and would call me back: again, still waiting for that return call - 10/09 I talked with CSR, Carla, and was told she would email the parts department for an update. I asked to speak with Jennifer (the Manager) and was told she was busy and Carla would have her return my call: AGAIN, still waiting for a return call from ANYONE at Gardner White who can tell me where my paid for cushions are and when I will be receiving them! I'm even willing to go into the store and have them take some off chairs in their showroom and then 'they' can wait to replace the cushions! According to their website, "Gardner-White Customer Culture - At every step, from sales to delivery, there is never any doubt at Gardner-White as to our #1 priority is - a satisfied customer!" Well I am far from satisfied and think I have gone above and beyond what any customer should to simply replace a few seat cushions! I now have at least 6 phone calls into the customer service department! I can say this - - I will NEVER buy anything from Gardner-White ever again. Nor would I recommend them to anyone. It's ironic how sweet and inviting the sales team always is in hopes that you will spend thousands of your hard earned dollars only to find out that once the papers are signed, that is where the customer service ends! That is truly very sad to me. As to the product - well, if my cushions ever come in for my dining room table, I do love it. The sectional we purchased lacks a bit of quality - mostly in the recliner chairs where your feet/legs rest. Seems to be wearing unusually quickly. I guess they just don't make furniture like they used to. What a shame! read more

David was not helpful with returning merchandise which upset me. Will no longer do business with him.

Rude salespeople. Will never recommend this place to anybody ever and will never purchase anything from here in my entire life.

Worst furniture store ever! They scheduled our delivery on a Sunday between 6:30-9:30 and nobody showed up. We called and left a voice message, but still nobody answered us. They didn't call or return our phone call. They make you pay 100$ for delivery but never ship on time or even bother to call to cancel or inform you when they are coming. Their website sucks and doesn't give you any information. Their customer service just give out false info and try to get you off the phone without fixing anything. We were planning to buy a living room from there, but after this experience we will never be going back there. read more

I have never in my life had a worse experience than I've had with Gardner White. My husband and I purchased furniture beginning of last month and at the time everything was in stock. We weren't ready for it to be delivered until the end of the month because we were in the process of moving. As our delivery date approached we called to see if we could possibly get it moved up by a week. When we called we were told that our items were delayed due to an order being lost? A week later we received 1 part of our order. As the delivery men were putting it together they let us know that the track was loose and we needed a new table. He told us that he would let them know and we would hear from someone within 24-48 hours. Never heard from anyone. We called about a week later and when we spoke with them we were informed that the rest of our order was canceled and that the items were discontinued. I'm sorry what?!?! Not one time did ANYONE bother to call us or let us know that our order was canceled. An order we ALREADY PAID FOR. Then when we called to try and get our money back, we were given the run around the entire day. We had to call multiple times to even get anywhere with someone. Not 1 person apologized. All they tried to do was get us to come in to pick out new furniture. Every single person we spoke with was extremely rude. We still haven't received our refund. Stay FAR FAR FAR FAR away from this company. I've heard from too many people that this is what happens with them and I didn't choose to listen. Learn from my mistake!!!! read more

My wife and I ordered a sectional couch in November 2020 With a 16-20 week lead time because the couch was custom. We were given a March 2021 delivery date which was at the full 20 weeks. As we got closer to the delivery date we were told by our sales person it had been pushed to April now. We were ok with that but then a month later were told it would be pushed to May. I then stopped receiving all communication from the sales person "KC" Kyle Crowell and started contacting customer service. The customer service team provided no help at all and just continued to push the delivery date out to June, July and then August all while threatening to charge us a 25% restocking fee if we cancelled. Although most of the customer service reps were nice (provided no help whatsoever), one rep by the name of Maria was completely rude and unprofessional both using vulgarity and even hanging up on my wife on one occasion. I would highly recommend staying away from Gardner White for your furniture needs as they were nothing but a big hassle and did not care at all about the customer. read more

My salesperson, Rosa, was excellent. She was friendly when I entered the store, very knowledgable as to the product I was looking for, and easy to work with. She was not pushy or overbearing. She showed me what I was looking for and politely answered all my questions without pushing a pen in my face. I did not feel pressured at all throughout the transaction. The delivery was exceptional as well. Both gentleman were friendly, quick, and concerned that I was happy with the product and how it was placed in the home. Overall, I could not be happier! Thank you GW!! read more

Gardner White is a RIP OFF, We purchased a $4500.00 mattress, and had to return it due to a manufacture recall, we were told it was fine to purchase another mattress for $1700.00, and we would be refunded the difference. We waited 4 months, in the process several calls were made to the store, we were told the credit card company would render the refund and we were given the run around. I finally called the credit card company that handles there paper, and was informed that they are paid immediately after an approval is processed for the customer. They have still not refunded the credit amount to us. See you in small claims court!!!! John the manager should be ashamed of himself for conducting such unethical business practices!!!! read more

I'm here to write a honest review. I believe in telling the good with the bad. I have had nothing, but trouble when ordering my couch with this company. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND GOING HERE. When shopping around we were told that the couch we wanted was in stock with a 1 week wait. After calling numerous times because there is no way of finding out about your account until they call you, it came 3 weeks later. I get COVID is a thing and stuff happens, as long as I got my couch I was fine. It came and they couldn't get part of it in so they took it back with them. I had paid for an additional amount for them to assemble it in my home, but had to pay additional $200 for another company to come disassemble and reassemble it in my home. I had a 1/2 of a couch for a week, tried paying over the phone numerous and they couldn't do it. So went in to the GW location, that I do not live near, and paid a different way for it. Got several email and texts confirming my appointment waited the time slot and more to give them a call. She said I was the next appointment, so 2 hours later I called back to make sure I'm not wasting a whole day and I was moved to two days later. No call. No email. No communication telling me this happened. Still don't know why. I finally received a call back, which was rare because they never called me back. Now I have worked in Customer Service so I know they get the crappier end, I asked to speak to a manager. Literally all they offered me for waiting this long, all the complications for everything was a $25 gift card for my next purchase, like why would I want to go back. Nothing off my bill or an apologize just a general thing and no way of knowing if I will actually get a full couch. There wasn't even a guarantee that I can be the first appointment the next day. The next appointment was on Saturday I wasn't about to waste my whole day again, so I waited till Monday morning. They did give me send me again all the emails and texts confirming again, but this time they did drop off my dissembled couch at 8:45, so the first appointment. I was told from the previous million people I talked to that the people would come within an hour to resemble it. Waited 5 hours and called them again, said they would be there by 5 pm another whole day. They did come at 3 and took 20 minutes to put my couch together, like why did this take so long to get here? I got the $25 gift card in the mail the next day. I literally have had nothing put issues with this company and it has been exhausting. read more

I ordered a loveseat and couch in July. I agreed to a three-week back order delivery date. The couch came but no loveseat. Also, the couch was delivered without legs. They were Fedexed to us a few days later. After several calls and texts, finally somebody told me the loveseat would come in September. One day when we weren't home in September, a delivery person called to say that they were at my house. I was surprised and said to leave the loveseat by my garage door. The person told me there was no loveseat, just legs for a couch. So I tried to contact customer service several times and finally reached somebody who told me the loveseat was still on back order. I filled out the contact form online, hoping to receive a date, but nobody contacted me. As September came to an end, I tried to make contact via phone and online...no response. Finally, I called and was told my loveseat would not come until October. It's October, so I called and reached customer service who said it might be available in November. I cancelled the order. No communication follow up from them, no apologies. The lack of communication was the most frustrating part. Nobody even called the day before delivery to arrange a time window. It was texted to me the morning of it. Disappointing experience! read more

Worst customer service since Comcast. So in the last month I have spend around $5000.00 at Gardner-White. The first delivery was nice. Everything went well although one of the pieces arrived damaged. They quickly fixed this so I went back to them to finish up our furniture needs. This is where it all went bad. Delivery driver showed up with the half the pieces needed and no way to go get the correct pieces. Promised the parts would hit the road by 4pm. I made it very clear, this was my 9 year olds bed and I need it tonight. Had to call in at 3:30 because nothing had been done yet. Judy worked hard to solve all the issues but then the delivery drivers failed again. Had to make a pallet for my kid to sleep on and go to bed for work today. This level of customer service reminds me of Comcast Cable. Give us your money then you can sit around and we will bother with you when we get around to it. read more

Worst customer service.. have spent over 17k in the last 3 years. They deliver my dinning room table the day before Thanksgiving and forget the pedestal.. tell me they will bring it in 3 days. I had 10 people coming for dinner the next day. Just bought a dresser they deliver it.. the back is busted with a big hole. I watched the guys look at it before they took it off the truck and the tell me it will be covered up against the wall!! REALLY??? Call the store never talked to anyone but the girl answering the phone she tells me she will have another one delivered between 4 and 6.. nothing call the store at 7:30 ... again never talk to anyone. Leave a message for the salesman. He calls back a 8:15. Makes arrangements for me to get it the following day between 5-7. You guessed it.. not there.. call the store.. salesman off that day and the next.. ask to speak to the manager never came to the phone.. left a message.. never a call back.. got the dresser at 8:30.. Done with them.. I will shop somewhere else. Plus everything I have gotten has broke... read more

They are definitely not Art Van! My wife ordered 2 couches 3 months ago. Called them multiple times to see if they were in. Finally arrived at the store and were to be delivered last Friday. Got a call they were 10 minutes away. 1 1/2 hours later called and I was told that they were delivered. They had pictures to prove it. Delivered them to the wrong house. Girl was so rude with the "too bad so sad" attitude she hung up on her when asking for her name. I tried to get a hold of them, put on hold multiple times and finally told that they will get back with us when they find where they are. Wouldn't let me talk to the manager. It's now Wednesday and no calls. Tried corporate multiple times and emails, no answers or response. I hope the other person is enjoying our couches! GW will never see a dime of my money. Stay away from the Hall Road store! I'm pretty sure that store will be closing based on the other reviews. Boy do I miss Art Van! read more

I'd give 0 stars if I could. Marshall Marshall arranges same day delivery without checking stock, then leaves you sit without a phone call to alert you that there won't be a delivery. If you try to call him the next day, he won't return your calls, even though customer service claims to give him the message. Ask to speak to the manager because you don't have a mattress, Connie Ko, and she won't return your calls either. Someone should be accountable there, 0 stars for customer service department, Marshall Marshall sales associate and Connie Ko, manager. Then they have the audacity to send a thankyou card. I purchased over $2,500 worth of furniture, late September 2019. The night of my sectional delivery, I noticed that my furniture was damaged. I took photos and on October 1, 2019, which was the next day, I returned to this store to show the damages and to get an exchange. A couple of days later someone from repair came out to asset the damages. I watched as he what looks like "steamed" both sides using some type of machinery. After about 30 minutes, he said that it stilled looked the same and someone from Gardner will be contacting me to exchange or offer me a discount. After a week, no one contacted me. I called talked to the manager and she offered me $100 off. I told her no, and that I wanted a complete exchange. As of today, November 14, 2019, I have not received an exchange. Equally important, the delivery was set up for today, and when my sectional arrived not only did they only have the chaise part of my sectional but that piece had a hole in it and it was damaged worst then the furniture that I have. I should also point out that I sent the photos to the manager at this location to show proof!! I don't understand why almost 2 months later, I am still dealing with this situation. I have asked for corporate number and they have given me the run around with that. This is ridiculous!! This is the worst customer service that I have ever received. I rate this place a zero!!! read more

Hello my name is Ronie I purchased a mattress and adjustable base from the Macomb location I walked into this store Sep 2nd knowing there we many other stores around me and I chose Gardner white upon speaking to a sales person (Asaaad) he helped me look for a mattress after taking sometime to find a mattress I finally made my descion then I asked Asaad what was the return policy and the words out his mouth were he said within 7 days you can bring it back and we charge a 10 percent restocking fee but he said if you purchase the mattress protector they will give you up to 60 Days, I have a back problem and walk with a cane for assistance after sleeping on this bed for 1 week I noticed the bed didn't feel the same as the one in the store i experiences more back pain and upon calling the store back the store refuses to help me and nither does the sales person in fact he is denies everything he said which is completely not professional and not a good look on the Gardner white name all I want was the word I and my wife were given by this store and sales person I want to return my mattress and get one that is not gonna do damage to my back I've called corporate and the manager hasn't returned my calls and it's been a week of calling him and still no response read more

BUYER BEWARE! Not sure what's going on with this company but you can't even talk to anyone via phone call. You call their phone number and wait on hold forever than you have to leave your number for a call back which never happens. I left several by the way not 1 call back. I ordered some furniture a week ago and was told it would be delivered today but never received a delivery time in the morning as promised. Since I couldn't talk to anyone or track my order on their web site I had to go to their store again to find out what was going on. I was told they did not even have it in stock and it was not even scheduled to be delivered today. That's funny l said because I had a voice message from 2 days ago from my salesperson saying it was in stock. At that point I asked for a complete refund. Never again will l shop at Gardner-White! Do yourself a favor and shop at a place that will back there products instead of hide soon as you fill their pockets. Well trained crooks that are eager to take your money then run and be done. The sale people are well trained but not in a honest way. Sad that they say anything to sell and advertise to get you in the store. Once you arrive you'll hear all the tactics on why what you happen to look at doesn't qualify for the promotions on the commercials. That's bad enough but if you do buy- make sure you check your delivery cause they will not fix their wrong. Horrible experience. Cant even enjoy my purchase because we feel to ripped off read more

I will never go back to any Gardner White store ever again..... I bought all my furniture there after my divorce left me without any furniture. I thought a I had a very nice salesman at first, but he was a liar like the rest of them at the store. After spending nearly $10,000, I had to call this place back because my leather, double recliner couch started to fall apart, the store told me that they could not repair the couch because the damage was due to "NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR" ? ? ? They said they that the $700 extended "LIFE TIME" warranty that I purchased was only good for things like accidental damages..... The salesman told me and my fiance that anything that happens to the furniture will be covered, "ANYTHING AT ALL" . . . . I assumed that meant "EVERYTHING"..... So when my couch springs started popping out of my couch within a year and a half after the purchase date its considered "NORMAL". . . THIS IS YOUR WARNING. . . . DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM GARDNER WHITE.... the furniture is garbage and will fall apart within a couple of years, and the warranty they sell you will NOT cover you for anything..... Right now I have two original pieces in my home from that original $10,000 purchase.....smh Do yourself a favor as I did and pay a little more for quality.... read more

Do not spend your money here. I spent thousands on Furniture, and bought the fantastic warranty our saleswoman "patricia" sold us. Well guess what? A huge scam. Spent almost $500 on the warranty and the company (Guardian Protection Products) gave me a run around and denied my claim. They said the damage was not accidental when I reported it was, and is supposed to be covered. Absolutely terrible customer service on both ends. I filed a complaint with Better Business and will be suing them as well. DO NOT SHOP AT GARDNER WHITE!! read more

We purchased a couch set for a fantastic price. They look really nice in our living room. But in order to get the couches we decided to pickup the set ourselves to save $100 delivery cost. We take off work to pickup the couches mid-day. They give us 2 couches that clearly look like 2 different couches of 2 different colors. The guy says "yes they are the same" but says "the wrapping makes it look different". He assures us if they aren't both from the set we'd paid for, Gardner White "will come and pick it up the wrong one and will deliver the correct one". We get the couches home, and they are two different couches of different colors. And after a bunch of calls, Gardner White wouldn't pick up the wrong couch because we didn't pay delivery fees! When they assured us it was the right couch, that guy should've been responsible for making it right. It was no mistake, we saw it and they denied it. We returned the couch ourselves, and picked up the other couch, on another day, and more time off work. read more
