Eclectic selection of home goods/decor…read more I found this cute little shop while visiting Rochester during the holidays. What a gem it was! As soon as I stepped inside, I knew I was going to like it. I think I fell in love with nearly everything that I saw. It was just so cute and inviting from my first impression. Everywhere I turned, I found something unique and thoroughly "un-cookie cutter" that I'd love to redecorate my home with. Mentally, I compiled an ever-growing list of "must-haves" as I perused the aisles. As a browsed, it became more apparent that my list of "must haves" was growing exponentially. In one corner was a chic silver/glass lamp, in another and end table that I couldn't live without and tucked away into a cozy corner were some Eiffel Tower-inspired wine glasses that I suddenly found myself unable to live without. How amazing would those glasses look in my dining room? Oh, I could just envision it. The merchandise included an interesting mix of bohemian glam, upcycled flea market finds/restored vintage pieces, and French-inspired style. This shop had a little bit of everything, from furniture, art and decorative accessories to dishes, glassware, kitchenware, as well as restored antique drawer pulls, linens and even a super cute, albeit limited, line of jewelry. I liked one of the necklaces so much that I snapped it up and told my husband he could give it to me at Christmas, which he did (yes, I often pick out my own Christmas gifts). Elsewhere, with visions of redecorating the house in my head, I spied decorative pieces, like vintage-inspired signage, mirrors, shelves, and lamps selling at both high and lower end price points. In other words, if you want to splurge and go big, you can definitely do it if you have deep pockets, while others items were pretty reasonably priced. I liked the well-balanced mixture of higher and lower end goods. It's a more eclectic way of decorating- you know, not "cookie cutter." The owner waited on me personally. She was super nice and asked me about my weekend, etc. She even wrapped my purchases up carefully in tissue paper spritzed with light fragrance. This place definitely gets high marks in all areas, including customer service. At the end of the day, it made for a pleasant day of shopping and I'm not even sure I cared how much I spent. You know the experience was good when you don't bother checking the credit card receipt afterward! If I hadn't exercised a bit of fiscal restraint, I would probably would have charged half the store to my credit card. While I would have no problem with that, my husband probably would. Therefore, I settled on a couple of items and called it a day. Sigh. However, I will be back. There is no doubt about that.

I was very tempted to buy the silver and gold resin deer and am now thinking of ways to make it myself as a quarantine arts and crafts project. The prices are reasonable bordering on high end. For example, the glitter deer I admired costs $40. Service could be improved. Most of the sales associates were chatting by the register. No one offered assistance or said hello first. Initially, I had Becky come out and "tweak" my living and dining rooms, utilizing my existing furniture and providing some key new pieces. She provided multiple options for new drapes which pulled each room together and created the look I wanted. More recently, Becky designed our new master suite and main bath renovation. She assisted me during the construction phase with color and material choices-- a huge help-- as well as advising on aesthetic considerations during the planning stage. Afterward, she reviewed the 100+ screenshots and photos I had gathered to convey what I was hoping to create in our bedroom and two bathrooms. Becky managed to distill those images into what is now our beautiful retreat, with soft colors, welcoming furnishings and bespoke details. The space is noticeably bigger than their previous one, which gives them more staging area and space to offer larger pieces of furniture, artwork, and clothing in addition to all the unique goodies they already carried within the store that are smaller scale. Everything here is extremely pricey, which is unfortunate for me given that there are many things I love from here, but I just simply can't justify spending exorbitant amounts of money on these sorts of homegoods and accessories too often. The products they carry are definitely geared towards the more affluent and those with lofty home design ideas, as they also have fabric samples and the like to help you design and customize your furniture and upholstery upon them in the back of the store too. The price tags make sense in the sense that I have not seen any of the products they offer in any other stores in the metro Detroit area, so there's nothing to compare their goods to. This is a great place to window shop or stop in to get inspiration for your home and to pick up a unique piece or two. I'm still thinking about the tatted up Albert Einstein piece of artwork (included in the photos!), which I love so much, but even just the print of it without it framed was already $70-80 and that's a hard price to justify even for hot Albert Einstein! I like how every time I stop in to Talulah Belle, there's always new discoveries to be had. They clearly refresh their stock frequently and it's always great to stop in here for inspiration and intentionally unique gifts for the loved ones in your life...including yourself!

I saw a Yves Saint Laurent woman's outfit for sale, beautiful dress shoes, mens dress coats and so much more. I stopped in today with a friend because he enjoys thrift shopping as well. Prices here are a bit high but the product is selective thus the cost. The store also is a non profit and does donations to the community, which I love. I didn't buy anything here today, but have been here before in the past and bought a thing or two. If I find a treasure that suits me, and it's in my budget I'm game. I think they do have occasional sales depending on what's happening, so shop here often and frequently.

The shop is narrow, but LONG, with clothing and accessories up front and then different cubbies of home goods as you go in further, ending in the back with miscellaneous more home goods, fine china, bigger furniture items, a kid's section, movies/music/books, and men's ware. There's something for everyone here and a portion of the proceeds are donated to charity as well, so it's for a good cause while you're also giving all these items a second life in your or a loved one's home!
