Second-hand is not second place…read more Beautifully curated, this shop is the truest form of not judging a book by it's cover. The mother-daughter team and the other fabulous women who help them run this shop, select only the most interesting and lovely pieces, all arranged just right to spur your creativity. If you'd like advice, or history behind a piece, ask, they are happy to help, and know their stuff. From the street, you wouldn't pick them out of the unassuming industrial-park like building, but once you enter, you'll find yourself inside the biggest consignment store in Western Canada. In the front you'll find jewelry, art, china and other smaller items displayed on cabinets, all of which are for sale. Step into the next room and depending on the decor that week, you could find yourself in a retro teak living space, or an antique Canadiana cabin-like setting. Once you enter the main space, best of luck to you. If you love furniture, antiques, and things with stories, you can browse to your heart's content. From rugs to couches, tables galore, and a vast selection of cabinets, curios and everything in between, this is truly a furniture hunting heaven. With new items from other shops that have closed, you'll find old mixed with new, all set up to inspire you. No tripping over dusty IKEA dressers here, this is not your average thrift-shop. Don't miss the upstairs, filled with chairs, stools, small tables and other treasures. With weekly additions, the ladies behind this shop have fabulous taste, and everything is on consignment, so you'll do well to ask about pricing, sometimes the bigger pieces are negotiable. So far I've purchased an old wooden coffee table from a Philippine beach house for $80, a vintage suitcase for $45, vintage luggage rack for $25, a fabulous teak chair for $90, and a few other small items. Visit weekly if you're on the hunt for a specific piece, they may be antique, but things here don't stick around long.

I agree with Valerie G.'s review that the workers here are not friendly, I would characterize them…read moreas snobby. The reason for my review, however, is not about customer service - or maybe it is. I purchased a painting from this group. I like the painting a great deal but when it was sold to me it was stated (as well as on the selling tag) that it was an unsigned work of a specific artist. I took their word for it but am also not naive. I liked the painting and paid a fair price for it. After purchasing the art I was curious if they were being honest so I emailed the artist and asked if it was indeed his work. He said no it was not. I believe that this was a selling tactic of the group and did not appreciate it.

I came into this store and was bombarded with country-bumpkin styled goods and Christmas…read moredecorations. Not a great start. But I soon noticed that some of their furniture is really nice, even if the prices are a bit out of my range. I then ventured downstairs and came across a large, solid wood dining room table for only $800. I was thrilled! This was on sale, I think because it had a scratch or two, but I didn't notice anything wrong with it. There were some okay looking lamps and a lot of furniture downstairs. I would definitely get a few pieces of the furniture if I could bring myself to spend a few grand.

Update as of March 30/19:…read more A after posting this review on Facebook, Google and Yelp I was contacted by management at at CF interiors, who promised me they were going to investigate what happened with my sectional. Two days later I was contacted by Kenner, the new warranty manager, who actually came to my home to check out the situation I had been dealing with. He was very empathetic and promised to go back to the owners of both CF and Van Goh to seek a resolution, I have to say I was very skeptical. Within a week I was given an offer from Kenner; Van Gogh would reupholster my sectional in the same grade fabric, at no cost to me and the work would be done in my home! After selecting the fabric we waited about 6 weeks as it was on route from the US, once Van Gogh received it it was cut to the specifications and a date was arranged to have it "installed". Van Gogh was able to reupholster my sectional in one day, in my home, as promised, using a crew of 5 people! Although the new fabric still stretches and wrinkles slightly it has not as noticeable as the previous fabric, it also has a slight pattern in the weave. I am very thankful to Kenner and CF Interiors for reopening this issue after I had basically decided to accept the sectional I originally received, I'm sure it was a lot of conversations with the owners and manufacturer to get this done. I am now happily enjoying my sectional and can say I would recommend CF as they clearly have stood behind their reputation.

First and LAST experience with this store! Went in to ask if they had any extra packing materials…read morethat they were getting rid of (2 plastic bags) that I may take and was treated through being ignored for 10 minutes rather than employee transferring into to another as she was busy, followed by another employee doing the figure 8 retail walk to monitor me while looking into my eyes briefly, followed by another giving me odd looks. The original lady finally told the guy of the same ethnicity as I was (assuming I'm an immigrant) and he promptly spoke in that language. He then asked the odd looks lady and she was scowling and annoyed at me as I explained now for the 3rd time. I did the same thing at WF, HD, and SC (Stores) and none of them behaved that way. All took a normal request and behaved normally as I did. I am not a thief, crazy or requesting something that does not exist. I even found a sample - they could not be BOTHERED to check like Sport Chek and others kindly did for and gave :) Furnishing stores have insane behaviours - they treat customers and employees like thieves or just plain oddly. At least this place and one I worked at Pier 1 do that! ugggghhhh If you are someone who needs help of any kind and a store is unwilling or treats you badly, then why be their future customer? Or, if you are not their customer, but you ask for help why should they not help or treat you right? Favoritism does no one favors.

I could spend an hour here just browsing. Should leave the guys at home or ask them to go shop at…read morethe Sportscheck while you cherish the creativity and art incorporated in some of the pieces here. The staff are super friendly, didn't pass a single person without a smile and warm greeting- something to be thankful for in the freezing cold weather of these days. If you do manage to temporarily get rid of the companion, shop til you drop!
