This is the best garden shop in Vancouver. The staff are friendly and helpful and they have a great selection of plants. I took in my very crowded, unhappy jade plant on the Thanksgiving weekend and left it for Connor to transplant in a larger pot. They were closed the next day but Tuesday morning I received a call saying my plant was ready to be picked up. Wonderful service!!!

I really wanted to like this place. My partner and visited a few weeks ago and purchased five plants plus some fertilizer. We asked lots of questions about how to care for them to make sure that they were going to adjust well to their new surroundings. One of the pieces was an amazing black velvet elephant ear which I had to have even thought it wasn't at all what I came for. Unfortunately I should have left it there as it was infested with spider mites and finally died this morning. Now I have two other plants in my house that the mites have spread to (including one purchased from Figaro's which may have also been infected). Such a disappointing purchase. I wouldn't be surprised to get a plant in this condition from a big box store but to get one from such a well reviewed place was so disappointing.

$40 cactus, great quality and very unique - I've never seen this species elsewhere.

This place is awesome and locally owned. They have a great selection of tropical plants, succulents, cacti, and other house plants. I bought a very unique-looking mid-sized cactus for $40 (pretty reasonable). Service was incredibly friendly. Be sure to join their free membership to collect points to save on your future purchases. They are also willing to take your contact info down if they currently don't have something in stock and will advise when the next shipment arrives.

In a time not to long ago in a place not too far away, I lived on a farm. Yes, I am a farmer's daughter (save your jokes for later, please). My summers were spent begging my dad to try driving the tractor (to this day, I still never have), gathering fresh veggies from the garden with my mum (nothing tastes like a garden carrot rinsed with water from the hose), planting seeds and watching them grow with my gran, collecting freckles while watching my grandpa and dad fix this machine or that. Later in life, that connection to my food followed me to what I thought would be my career -- I became a cook. I had dreams of my own garden, my own kitchen, my own space to feed my friends (and, for the record, every mouth that tasted my food would automatically become a friend). Fast forward X number of years and I am no longer on the fast track to becoming a chef, but am on my way back to the space I once imagined my future to hold. The tipping point on the decision to sign my current lease was a scraggly rooftop garden plot. All for me. I now have the ability to grow my own veggies. Enter Figaro's. An enchanting and intimate garden centre offering gorgeous vegetable starters, seeds, and an abundance of information -- all in an incredibly magical little shop. The staff are more than helpful with tips on what to grow when, and how much space each little plant will need. Also, bonus: most of the starters here have been organically grown on Figaro's farm on Galiano Island. How much more local can you get? So here I am, growing my own food, supporting our own economy, and kind of almost living the dream I once had years ago... all thanks in part to Figaro's.

AMAZING!!! Went in to get some advice for my somewhat browning fiddle leaf tree (that we recently bought some where else). Chrissy was sooo helpful! Loved their selection and so thankful for her advice on caring for the plants. Definitely recommend this store!!

This was my first time in the store since it changed owners from The Flower Box to Studio Full Bloom. I was excited because the atmosphere is still lovely and welcoming. While I was picking out my stems someone popped their head in to ask if there were any wreaths that were more fresh. The workers replied that all they had was out there. Then the person said that the wreaths were really dry and the response they received was that this is a natural thing with live wreaths. Here I want to point something out that we can all apply to our daily lives. In this case in retail... When someone draws your attention to something that isn't right there are a few simple steps that can go a long way to making it better. Firstly thank the person for drawing your attention to it. Perhaps explain why that may have happened. Definitely ensure them that this won't happen again and remedy the situation immediately. I just assumed the client was a picky pain in the ass but decided to go look for myself because I am super snoopy. The wreaths looked like they should be looking mid-late January. Not only were they dry but they were browning. The client told me they were over $100. I was surprised because these hadn't been lush lovelies but more along the line of Charlie Brown xmas style. Figuring that sucks for them I went back in to buy my stems... not even thinking that if those were $100... I picked out 4 stems. One snapdragon, one mini chrysanthemum, a damaged hypericum and anotherthat I don't know the name of but it wasn't one of the swooshy expensive ones (I am very familiar with which ones those are from when I just HAD to have them!). One of the stems had damage on it, which I assumed they would just throw in or at very least remove the damage... this didn't happen. The person wrapped them and they were over $30. I guess I just got used to my other florists who always offer to fill something like that out with some greenery or somesuch thing. This didn't happen either. What I walked away with were 4 stems of grocery store quality charged at Thomas Hobbs prices. I'll post a pic of the stems I bought and what I could have gotten at my grocery store for a similar price. Don't get me wrong... I am willing to pay more for merch from a florist than from a grocery store... I just expect more from the florist for that increased price whether it be in quality, quantity or service. Edit in response to Chelsea... The reason I re-posted is because I thought there was some sort of glitch as my previous posting didn't show up. I am sincerely sorry if you felt in any way that there was a threat in it or that the purpose of my review was to attack in any way. I simply was sharing what my experience was so others could decide where they want to take their business. Your response to me, however, is similar to your response to the person looking for the wreath. Instead of asking how to make things better you have decided to accuse me of threatening your business, misunderstanding dialogue that happened right in front of me or maliciously misrepresenting the facts. It was my intention to go to your store in the next few weeks and either remove this review or adjust it depending on my experience as I am the first to admit that we all have bad days. Between your response and you saying I am now unwelcome in your store I'm afraid you have convinced me that this wasn't a bad day at all and this is simply how you roll. Instead of understanding that I was trying to be helpful and explain what I expect in customer service you have decided to accuse me of telling you what to do? Wow. I have moved from unsure to actively encouraging people to shop elsewhere.
