Offers different signs to learn about wildlife and how to be safe. I came in early morning in mid-October and the weather was amazing. In the morning it was about 60 degrees. The park was active: people walking the trails, fishing, several people walking their dogs and there was a group of people with their dogs getting dog training classes. The park still offers plenty of space to enjoy your time outdoors.

Our favorite is going around the scenic loop around water, spotting the ducks, geese and the birds. There are so many exotic Birds specially during the spring, it's a sight. The wildflowers are beautiful and the large trees create a perfect canopy during the summer. We love biking and hiking too, this park has a cute little waterfall and is a favorite among photographers for shoots. There are programs offered in the community center for the kids for summer break and also activities with nature which is nice specially since it's involved with nature. There is also a nice display and tribute to the veterans with some installation arts. This place is worth a visit and wish there were some kids play structure to add to the beauty.

One of these efforts is this community and urban incubator farm which was established by Cultivate South Phoenix (CUSP) to give residents of South Phoenix affordable access to healthy food while encouraging them to appreciate active living and healthy roots of their cultures. At the Saturday farmer's market you can get very locally grown produce and craft items while taking in the cultural performances of local talents. The site of Spaces of Opportunity includes a 10-acre incubator farm where quarter-acre to one-acre plots of land are made available with a preference to farmers who are part of the South Phoenix community and who have limited resources. Also, community members can rent a plot to plant, grow and harvest produce for their own use or to share with others - and the rental fee is an super-affordable $5 a month! I love that here I was able to get fresh locally grown produce as well as craft items to be given as presents and in so doing I celebrate the culture and encourage the efforts of South Phoenix gardeners, farmers and farm workers.

I met Morgan Reimler at a charity golf tournament this year. She was the "Beat the Pro" contest…read moreprofessional and after chatting for a few minutes, found out that she is also a certified instructor. I emailed her and over the course of a few months decided to try some lessons with her. I have had lessons before and some were helpful, and others, not so much. Im currently a 17 handicap senior golfer but im fighting pretty hard to hold back the tide of age, stiffness, loss of strength and stamina. I felt that getting a swing coach and instructor would be beneficial and help the swings and putts be more productive even with my overall performance declining. First of all, Morgan spent quite a bit of time talking and assessing my game. She asked what my expectations are and what goals i hoped to reach. I felt very comfortable right away. There was no "boot camp, drill instructor" personality and Morgan is a very good communicator. She looked at my swing using a 5 iron and made a few suggestions that made a big difference in my swing plane and club head position. Now, im already past my time alloted but Morgan gave me a few homework assignments and helped plan out our next sessions. No pressure! Just whenever i felt ready to continue. Increasing club head speed. Short game. Course management, putting. These are some of the areas I'll be covering in my next few reviews with Morgan Reimler. Please. If you want to get the most enjoyment from your golf game, give Morgan a shout. I truly believe she can help and even 2-3 strokes will make a great difference in your overall appreciation of golf. The Extension Herb Garden has many of the different varieties being presented so there's always an opportunity to view their growth for planting ideas, flowering, lighting, and such. And many of the club members, kindly referred to as "Herbies or (h)erbies, meet monthly to participate in the care and maintenance of this garden. Occasional presenters are invited to present further education in their profession/business. They frequently bring live herbs to sell and have seeds from the garden, labeled and well packaged for home planting for just a buck. Overall a friendly group and well presented info.
