Throughout the project the team had multiple touch points with us including a weekly video call to discuss progress & next steps and weekly summaries of work completed. They were thoughtful in sourcing materials and provided excellent recommendationss as we considered modifications throughout the space. The work was completed not only ahead of schedule, but also within budget, which was crucial given this was an insurance claim. The quality of the work exceeded expectations and the positive attitude of the team made the entire process stress-free. Any future construction projects I need will be awarded to them!

West Village General Contractors is as good as it gets. They are professional, deliver what they…read morepromise, and absolute perfectionists. They are expensive but worth every penny. If you want a perfect job, completed when promised, this is the company to use. I began with one project and added to it. They were careful about making sure I knew exactly what each additional thing would cost, and the length of time that would be required. I got several bids before beginning my project and various timeframes. WVGC was honest about the length of time that would be required. We had weekly meetings and they remained exactly on schedule. They were referred to me by someone else in my building who'd used them, and who was equally impressed with their work. They were right on top of every detail the entire way through the project. They finished exactly when they'd promised, and everything was perfect. In finishing up with a very short punch list, they have been as responsive after having been paid as they were along the line. I would hire WVGC again in a minute. I am afraid I'm spoiled. I have used many contractors over the years, and these people were by far the most professional. They told me when it was not worth doing something I considered adding to my project. I should also say that they are extremely careful and their work is neat. When my apartment was turned back to me, I was extremely impressed with how they had been so careful in protecting other parts of the apartment. My building staff also mentioned to me that they were very impressed with their professionalism and told me how they stood apart from other contractors. The entire staff was a pleasure to work with, and they were amazingly responsive. Any time anything needed to be approved, changed, or ordered, there was always the project manager or assistant project manager who would be available to accomplish what needed to be accomplished. The two principals were also a pleasure to deal with -- so, I guess you can tell from this review that I was extremely happy with their perfectionistic work, their fair prices, and their attention to detail, as well as their responsiveness. They are not the least expensive contractors, but their work is clearly so superior that it is worth paying a little more. I really cannot too highly recommend WVGC.

Shafayet and his crew did a truly amazing job, and I am so thankful for all their time, care, and commitment to making our house special and beautiful. This was a big job. We installed 2 new kitchens, 2 new bathrooms, rebuilt the back wall of our house to add large windows, added a deck, skylights, and a bunch of other things in between. At every step, Shafayet worked hard to make sure the house turned out perfectly. I have nothing but the best things to say about our new home and the care Multi put in to make it right. For this type of work, we received bids from a number of different people. Multi priced everything very competitively and they are very transparent on costs for change orders. I recommend them highly, and I will be sending friends to them for years to come!

The work included structural work to repair / replace old decaying beams and to add new support beams. The work included the relocation of 2 full new kitchens; all new internal plumbing; an upgraded electrical system; and the installation of split air conditioning systems throughout all 5 floors. The millwork / finishing / painting done by his team were meticulous, and we ended up 2 beautiful new apartments - a triplex with 2 bedrooms 2 baths, and a duplex with 2 bedrooms / 2 baths. Shafayet was always responsive to our inquiries / requests and provided solutions to the many problems that were encountered in a project of this size. He also coordinated well with the architect and third party vendors that were involved in this project too. His bid for the job was very reasonable compared to the bids of 4 other general contractors. Great value overall!

I chose him for his Chamber of Commerce membership, strong Google reviews, and because he offered the earliest start date (May 11, 2026) of the three contractors I was considering -- despite being the most expensive. The project felt rushed from the start. For seven straight days, only one employee did the actual work; the contractor himself showed up only on the last day, to clean up. That evening, around 8 p.m. and after dark, I was pressured to pay the remaining ~$5,000 balance (total cost ~$10,000) before I had a real chance to inspect the work. Trusting it had been done properly, I paid. Afterward, I found numerous workmanship defects -- I've documented over 100 photos, a sample of which are below. I didn't feel treated with the professionalism I'd expect, and I'd encourage anyone reading the glowing reviews here to weigh them against this account. I've already filed a small claims case; the court's certified mail to the contractor's listed address was returned undelivered, but I intend to pursue this through other means. Please review the photos and do your own due diligence -- get everything in writing before paying.

Hired Steve back in February 2019 to build 2 closets in the basement. He built the wall of one…read morecloset partially covering an existing outlet. I asked him to make the wall shorter or move the outlet 3 times. His response was to carve out a piece of the sheetrock exposing the wood stud because the surge protector plug would not fit into the outlet. Besides this Steve was extremely rude to me. He told me not to speak to him in a very nasty way. It cost me extra money to fix his mistake! Never again! Let me clear up a few untruths you stated Steve trying to clean your record up: 1) We did not agree on your 'making covered outlet work' as stated in your rude text message to me'. Covering that outlet OUTSIDE the closet was a violation waiting to happen and needed to be fixed . You said the closet would stop a foot away from that outlet but you built it longer. 2) You were asked to place garbage AFTER job was complete or at END OF DAY when work was done. You made the bags so heavy that I could not carry to the street and I had to rebag them. I asked you to put the bags on the side of the house not in front...2 times..once for you, once for your helper! 3) You were asked if you wanted coffee or water 2 times in a day! You complained how other homeowners did not even offer you a drink of water after working in their homes all day. Why are you not complaining that I asked you what you and helper wanted for lunch and I paid for it for 3 days? 4) You told me NOT to come down into my own basement in my house! 5) Speaking nicely to your wife when you gave me estimate DID NOT translate into your being nice to me. Sad to say you were down right nasty especially before the last day! 6) Rerouting baseboard was only discussed as to whether it was okay to build a closet around it ! There was nowhere else to move the baseboard which mean the closet could not be built. 7) As for the outlet in another closet, you built it straight across to the wall when I asked you to build it so that the outlet would be exposed. After giving me a price you told me it would cost extra to build it shorter. 8) Last day of the job, who would blame me for not wanting to speak to you when you REFUSED to fix the closet on top of the outlet, when you were disrespectful in your attitude and tone of voice! 9) 8 months later review statement.... trouble walking/doing stairs due to medical procedures and finally surgery to ankle...finally the outlet is fixed but it took hours to unlodge from behind the wooden stud/ sheetrock and it cost me extra money! Thank you , Steve!!!! 10) Tops of closet where they meet the ceiling were finished showing spaces to the joists. Your closets were not amazing. Do not text me again because you do not like my answer to your reply! 11) You mean you had to add an additional clause to your Additional Terms because of my behavior? Don't disparage my character....See photo ....Hold Your Questions.....opportunity to ask about covered outlet at end of project AFTER the damage was done
