I came in for the first time yesterday and the owner's mother was the one who did my brows. Before she started on my brows, I explained exactly what I wanted and I emphasized that I'd like to keep my natural shape. When I saw my brows, I was shocked. They are the thinnest I have ever seen them, ever. I told the lady that they're so thin and I asked to keep my natural shape and she just said that I had thin brows before. I did not. Last min I looked for an eyebrow threading place last Saturday and saw this location on Yelp. It was perfect because it was close to my house. Went there but then saw that they only took appointments so I called to schedule one but instead she took me in. Her mom did my eyebrows and to top it off she gave me a little eyebrow massage which was the cherry on top because it was so relaxing. I wasn't paying attention and didn't even ask prior but they only took cash which I didn't have on me. Thankfully they trusted me enough to go to the liquor store on the corner. I have been getting my eyebrows for over seven years and I've always had the same problem, one pointed brow and one rounded. She is the first person to make them both rounded. I am so satisfied! The only down side is because I have been getting my brows done for so long I can tell the difference between the types of threads being used. Garara Palace is in a strip mall plaza on Florin Rd. (near Lindale Dr.) and across the street from Pizza Hut. The front part of the store is filled with Indian garb and accessories for women. The backside has two chairs facing a long wall of mirror, a couple couches with a table and reading material. Gurleen's cute because she's always smiling, nice, and helpful. Threading gives you an odd sensation. It might hurt. If it's your first time, it probably will hurt. It doesn't take very long, though. You're given a tissue to wipe away removed hairs off your face. She'll let you know when she needs you to lend a hand. And in the end, she tells you the plan. What's to be grown out and what the difference with what you did before compared to what threading does. And, it looks good. $10 for eyebrows. $5 for lip. If you call the store you'll probably have to leave a message with the machine but you can also reach Gurleen at (916) 416-5000. Appointments are recommended. read more

Great and friendly service and great prices. This small shop is right across Pizza Hut and is on the right hand side in the plaza. I've gotten my eyebrows waxed before and I wanted to try something new so I ended up going to Garara Palace. Gitu was very friendly did my eyebrows perfectly, even though I wasn't sure how I wanted them done. It took about 10 minutes and she offered to put on this soothing gel after threading them. It was $9 for the thread which is a great deal! The atmosphere of the place was comfortable as so were the couches I sat in while waiting. I highly suggest you give this place a visit! read more

I decided to go with threading for the second time in my life since waxing. I showed up at 10:45 since they open at 11am. But the place didnt open on time. I had to call her to make sure she was on her way. She arrived at about 11:20 so if your in a rush i suggest calling before showing up. My eyebrows are usually pretty thin so really i only needed a cleanup. After reading reviews i decided to come here. She did okay. I cant really judge because my eyebrows werent to bushy to begin with. They charge 50cents to use a card. read more

Believe me when I'd tell you she's the best in Sacramento. Trust me, I've tried all threading spot available here. I've been threading my eyebrows since 2008, and moved to Sacramento last year. Had to find someone to replace my beloved threader. I've tried preet(thin&uneven), Desi(cut me), and Brow&Glow in ShopSmarts(uneven). I have been going to the Garara Palace for 3 over years now. When I came to Gitu my brows were very over-tweezed and uneven. I needed serious help. After a year of consistently going to Gitu every 2 months, my eyebrows started to grow back. They now have a beautiful natural shape and are much fuller. I'm not going to lie, over the course of 3 years I have tried out a few threading places located closer to me, but none can shape and clean up my brows the way that Gitu can. Her work is very consistent and I always leave happy. I also take my brother here, and Gitu does an amazing job on male eyebrows, taking just enough off to clean it up, but still keeping the brows full and natural. I have also had my eyebrows threaded by Gitu's mom. Her mom has a slightly rougher touch, but her work is still amazing and she will transform your unibrow into two beautiful arches. I am so glad I tried this place out to get my eyebrows done. I love the fact that it is run by a mother and her daughter. There was a cute little baby there and you can't help but smile. They are so friendly and more importantly my eyebrows came out great! I will become a regular here for sure. I am also interested in maybe trying their henna one day. Highly recommend!!!! read more

I didn't know what to expect, but I just wanted my eyebrows threaded and she did such an amazing job that I just kept coming back. She honestly has a real talent for it because I have been to other eyebrow ladies who just cannot do my eyebrows like Gitu. Gitika did an amazing job on my eyebrows! She is very busy and booked up but I'm glad I didn't go elsewhere. She is fast at texting back and letting you know if she has cancellations. She was meticulous at shaping my brows after 2 months of no threading due to coronavirus quarantine. I have thick eyebrows that are difficult to manage and she shaped and threaded them painlessly. She is very good about asking what you want and checking in if it's hurting. Very patient and took her time. I am so happy with how my brows look. She is also very affordable. I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for about a year and had just moved to the area. Luckily, I found Gurleen. She is the nicest person. And she is actually even better than the lady that I've been seeing before i moved. She is gentler and it doesn't hurt at all. She notices little things about the growth of my eyebrows and even knew that I had used a cream for my upper lip (because the skin gets darker). So she does my upper lip too (no more creams). The last time I went in there, I had a huge and red zit (that I had popped earlier that day) on my forehead. I told her to ignore it bc I was a little embarrassed. She took some cream that she has (she also does facials) and put it on red and hideous zit and told me to leave it on overnight. It dried it up and was clear the next day. I was amazed! She knows skin really well. She always notices when I'm breaking out a little more or when I've been in the sun. She owns the store that she works out of that sells beautiful Indian clothing and jewelry. Gurleen is awesome! read more

I love it here! I used to go to Eyebrows by Preet, but they started changing their staff a lot this past year and it was always a different person working on your brows from the last time. Very inconsistent. I really like it here, Gitu is super friendly and really knows how to do brows! She is so gentle, honestly the least pain I've ever been in when getting my brows done. I came to Gitu with the worst brows ever. My brows have grown out they were uneven and too bushy and over waxed in some places.I was a wreck. But using her magic Gitu brought my brows back from the dead, she literally revived them. My eyebrows are now perfect and I am never letting anyone touch my brows again except for Gitu. I only trust her with my brows. Not only is Gitu my eyebrow queen she also is so sweet. She listened to me suggested brow shape and asked what I wanted them to look like. She has such a gentle touch and it was painless. I know people who get their eyebrows threaded at other places and they literally bleed and rip skin out, but when Gitu threaded my brows it was absolutely painless. The treatment was not painful at all! I've done waxing and sugaring in the past, and the pain from those is way worse than laser. As someone with a darker skin tone and a history of razor bumps, I was worried about how the treatment would work for me, but I had no issues whatsoever. The facility is super clean, and the staff was incredibly friendly and patient with me since I was nervous at first. They answered all of my questions and reassured me every step of the way. The technician was amazing, and the whole process was shockingly fast--I honestly can't believe I spent years waxing instead of doing this sooner! On the day of my appointment I was having severe pain from my previous surgery and asked if I can reschedule and if there can be a one time courtesy to waive the $50 charge but they told me no so I did my best and ended up showing up. There's only one doctor, DR. LATIFA A. PACHECO, that runs this office and even though she has her policy, she could have definitely make an exception if she wanted to give me some grace, but she didn't. When I came to my appointment, after discussing what the treatment would be, I decided to do the treatment on a different day due to the side effects that I would endure for two weeks. Dr Pacheco then told me that the $50 would not apply towards the treatment since I did not do it on the same day. She also admitted that the receptionist gave me the wrong information and should have told me but she didn't and she will have a talk with her to remind her. So even though Dr Pacheco admitted that the mistake was made on her receptionist and not on me, still told me I would be charged the $50 regardless. She admitted her mistake, but did not make it right with a new potential customer. I let her know that if I knew this ahead of time, I would have made my appointment on a different day. Dr Pacheco's demeanor with me was very curt and condescending. She pretty much said "Sorry bout that" and Just kept asking me if there's anything else she can help me with and make sure to let me know that her time is very valuable and she is very busy. Even though I do need this treatment, I will definitely be finding another office with better professionalism and with someone that would tried to make it right after admitting they made a mistake. Terrible way to run an office, but she made it known how busy and valuable she is which is why she wouldn't care to lose a customer. Just Keep that up and it will come around.

I always request JY or Sam, and they're both fantastic, skilled, attentive, and clearly experts at what they do. I always walk out feeling completely refreshed and like a whole new person! And definitely keep an eye out for their holiday specials, because you can often stack the savings and get even more for your money. I scheduled a visit a few days in advance for three people and four services and paid an $80 deposit ($20 per service) via Venmo. One person canceled that morning, but I was able to switch to a different service for myself that same day vs. losing my deposit. The two pedicures were fine. They were basic pedicures, and aside from the water initially being extremely hot, I was happy with the results. Because of the deposit, there was also no wait time. The head spa, however, was a completely different experience. This was my first head spa, so I was excited and expected it to be relaxing. Unfortunately, it was anything but. The massage was brief, and despite the menu stating that oils would be used, none were applied. During the double cleanse, the technician used her fingernails rather than her fingertips, which became painful. There was also an excessive amount of cleanser, and rinsing it out was difficult. The water temperature was extremely inconsistent--going from hot to ice cold--and water got into my ear. Instead of feeling relaxed, I was uncomfortable throughout the service. Afterward, my hair was not completely dry. When I asked for serum, I was told it had already been applied, and I had to explain that I wanted my hair fully dried and soft. Another staff member eventually finished drying it, and the end result was much better. The two services totaled $138, or $158 with a 15% tip. I shared all of this feedback with the front desk before leaving. They were receptive and said they would provide additional training. I was also told that the technician was new to the salon and has some communication issues. I appreciate that they listened to my concerns, but based on my head-spa experience, I would not return for that service. *********************************************************** FINAL THOUGHTS Making a reservation requires a deposit, but it does give you priority if there's a wait. PRO TIP: I visited on a Saturday around noon, and it wasn't busy at all. If you're coming in solo, you can probably skip the reservation and deposit. I've had two pedicures here, and the service was totally fine. No issues at all. I also clearly saw the technicians using Barbicide to disinfect their metal tools, although I didn't pay attention to where they pulled the drill bits from. Overall, the salon is CLEAN, which I really appreciate. Personally, I wouldn't get a head spa treatment here again. I was told they're having plumbing issues because the building is old and that their plumber hasn't been able to resolve the problem. However, based on my experience, I feel some of the issues were related to the technician and not just the plumbing. That said, I'd love to hear from others who have had a head spa here. How was your experience with the water temperature? Did you have a better experience with a different technician? I'd genuinely be curious to know!

Love love love coming here. For starters I have a real difficult time finding someone who can do my eyebrows like the way I like them done. Or I come across ladies who are either: A) have a hard time understanding me. B) can be rude to their customers. C) no people skills or good customer service. And this place is an absolute gem. I'm never going anywhere else if you go in ask for Gitu she is the one that did mine and will be doing mine from now on. She is super sweet and really makes you feel comfortable. And I'm was super pleased and happy with the way they treated me here. She also does facials for a real reasonable price and hair cuts. So when I went in I got threading,facials and came back the next day for a hair cut from her. Needless to say I'm never going anywhere else. This is a one place stop for almost everything. While I did not immediately book an appointment with Paige because I wanted to do some research first, I eventually got in contact with her via Yelp by using the "book appointment" feature. She was quick at responding, and we talked about the procedure, the cost, what to expect, etc. etc., and I was really excited about my appointment. When I arrived, I was a bit freaked out at how ironic it was that my best hairdresser in the world's salon was right across the street and couldn't believe I had never paid any attention to the salon across the street. Paige was right under my nose! She rents a really cute and serene room in the salon where all her magic happens. Her professionalism, bubbly personality and just down-right niceness really put me at ease as any work to my eyes is a bit nerve-wracking. She explained the procedure before-hand and then again before each step. The procedure took about an hour, but it didn't feel that long. The results were amazing and the cost was very reasonable. It's been about 6 weeks now, and the lift is wearing down, but I am still happy at the little bit of lift left and will be going in for my second lift in about 3 weeks. While I did not have a reaction to the product used because I do not have sensitive skin, I would suggest that if you do have or have had sensitive skin, I think it's always prudent to perhaps ask for a skin test first. Otherwise, the research I've done has shown that the service is very safe. I hope to have her do my brows at some point too, and will update my review when I can speak from personal experience.

But after that, numbing cream is applied and it's honestly not bad. It is more pressure than pain.
