The place is a nice vibe, pretty interesting to see that this is all set up in what looks like an old warehouse/building. The security guard in the front is doing his job + nice -- we had come the night before but one of the members in our party forgot his ID at the hotel so we were turned away. Personally, I respect that they are strict with that and safe rather than risking a minor to go in there. So we came back the next day to get that "garage" experience so many recommended when visiting Seattle. The brunette lady who helped us at the billiards was so nice and recommended we go bowl first and put our name down because it gets busy so we did just that. Until we met the pink haired woman that goes by the name of Alex that made this experience horrible. I can't begin to express how rude she was and how she lacks good customer service. She seemed to hate her job so I hope she quits or even gets fired, all that she looked like she enjoyed was when she was busy in the corner drinking. Anytime asking her questions she'd just point to the sign and turn away, I'm sorry but speak to your clients that have questions regarding the poorly detailed signs whom are spending a good amount of money here to ensure you have a job. From someone who has a family business I'd never have someone who would belittle their customers. Good luck, hope you have a better experience than we did. We paid for two lanes in advance and when we wanted to extend an extra hour they told us it would be $10 extra per person (~$100). Summary: I'd go here again for bowling or pool but go elsewhere for food. Atmosphere: cool hangout spot divided up into 3 areas. 1. A dimly lit pool hall with rows of maybe 12 pool tables in one open room with a little cafe. 2. A small enclosed sat bar that feels like it's stand alone. And 3. A bowling alley with maybe 5 lanes. Grub: drinks are standard. Service is ok, some are helpful while others act like they have better things to do. Food is hit or miss. I got the Brie LT: a BTL with Brie and the side house salad. The sand which itself was really tasty. Not too much Brie, bacon perfectly crispy and the bread very fresh and not toasted. The salad was very heavily dressed. Too oily for my taste. My friend got the chicken pot pie... skip it.... there was not chicken haha, and the puff pastry was old and we both couldn't cut through it. read more

This is easy to get to and get in & out of whenever we are in Cap Hill. It's a bowling alley with pool tables and a dining area with full bar so you don't have to bowl to hang out here. My friends likes to stop in here to grab drinks before hitting Q Nightclub to dance right next door since it's easier and quicker to get drinks here. The food here is decent, nothing too specular, just your average bar type American style food to fill your stomach to handle liquor for the rest of the night for whatever adventure comes your way. I've lost all respect for this place as of last night. I ordered a Moscow Mule, and what I got what disgustingly far from it. I told the server the drink didn't taste like what I expected, and she responded with "well no one has ever said that before", and blankly stared at me for a few awkward seconds before taking the drink back to the bar. She came back a few seconds later with a new drink, and told me the first was mistakenly made with...an already open Bud Light instead of ginger beer. I was a little taken aback by that comment and asked if it was someone else's half empty Bud Light that was put in my drink, and she half-heartedly reassured me that it wasn't; or she didn't think so. After that, more of our friends arrived and we decided to stay because we had put our name in for bowling. A new server came by and told me she could switch my tab to her. A few minutes later she told me she couldn't find my credit card, and I would need to go talk to the bar. So, I did so, and the bartender told me "I don't know what to tell you man, I don't see your card". I found our new server again, and was told to find the first server and figure out where my card was. Overall, this place is always too crowded, expensive, poor service, and not maintained. This is only regarding the bowling side, The lanes were sticky, almost tripped every time I bowled couldn't tell if the bottom of the shoes were Sticky and not cleaned or if they didn't polish the floors right. All the balls finger holes where not drilled to size even my wife's tiny fingers barely fit a 12 pound ball. Left after 10 mins explained the issue to the front desk and said they could move me to another lane but the balls are set so I checked the other lanes just as sticky charged me 15$ for 5 frames. I have bowled at a lot of places and never had an issue before. Pool hall side, Everything was great. Clean neat tables seemed to be well balanced waitress was sweet and prompt. read more

The prices can be rather high for your typical high traffic bar times and not ideal if you have only a couple people playing. As someone who is generally not impressed by places that are actually able to house corporate events, Garage ended up surprising me by not sucking horribly. In fact, it was a pretty neat venue: the space was huge, spanning several rooms, the bathrooms were clean, and they had a good mixture of pool tables, bowling alleys, and normal tables for people to sit down to eat and drink at. Speaking of which, given that this was our company's final farewell, there was plenty of both, with lots of bourbon drinking and otherwise going on. Large space with a fun atmosphere, great for hanging out with friends, corporate events, or even a fun date night. Happy Hour 3-7pm every day (yes, including the weekends!) is a great deal. $12/hour for a bowling lane, $6/hour pool table, $3 draft beers and $4.50 well drinks, can't beat it. Didn't try any food, but their menu has typical bar snacks that would be good to eat while you're playing games. Service was good. This is a really upscale bowling alley. I have only come to the Garage to bowl, not to play pool so I can't speak on that . I was here for an event and it was a great space for a group. The staff was very courteous and brought drinks out fairly quickly. The food that was ordered was actually pretty tasty; various flatbreads, hummus plates, french fries, etc. I have no complaints with the lanes, the shoes, or the available balls. The machines and computers worked without flaws. There was some good music playing on the speakers and they had football games on their tvs. Quite busy which made for a happening place. read more

We've been trying to get in here for a while as every time we walk in on a Friday or Saturday night it is packed. Their reservation system is difficult too - you have to call and speak with Emily who has limited hours. They need an online system! I would be careful not to come in without a reservation and wait for a lane. You may end up waiting a while - I think there are only 10 lanes. Otherwise, our experience was great. It is a little pricey but it is a very classy establishment. The drinks were good (we did not get food). The happy hour here is amazing, you can get quality drinks for under $5 dollars each. The fries are very greasy and are served in huge portions, you will need only one for your group. Well maintained pool hall with bowling and good service. Great place to stop in and chill when you're in Capitol Hill. Bonus points if it's happy hour - they have some nice deals! Really cool place. I love pool and it's amazing how big this place is. And I wasn't expecting a bowling alley on the hill! First of all, this is a very popular place, so it can get very crowded. Just walking by the desk where you rent bowling equipment was VERY tight with people waiting in line and just chatting. Wait staff was friendly, but it took me a WHILE to be able to order something. The food was good (the fries were incredible!), but was not impressed with having to go find someone to order, and again to close out my check. But that was the only real negative. With it's pool tables, bowling, drinks and food, The Garage provides entertainment for the 21+ crowd. We came here on Sunday night to take advantage of Industry Night (3p - 10p) where it's $12/hr for bowling. Shoe rentals are not included and cost $4. The place was packed and there was a 2.5 hours wait. We went out, grabbed dinner, and by the time we came back, a lane eventually opened up. We made our way downstairs, ordered a pitcher, and started bowling. The beer was alright. There were also plenty of bowling balls to choose from. Pins re-rack pretty quickly so each game goes by quickly. My only concern is that while the women's restroom was well stocked, there was puke all over a stall wall. I've been coming to Garage for 3+ years now but under their new management their prices have skyrocketed. Until the new management you could bowl for anywhere from $12-30 per lane per hour depending on when you went. Even at peak times (7pm-1am Friday-Saturday) the max cost was $30/hour (plus $4.50 shoe rentals). I used to host large bowling parties and pool tournaments there for up to 60 people but I won't be returning personally nor will I be hosting these events there anymore. I don't know what the new prices for pool are, but when I tried to make a reservation for bowling for 40 people for 2.5 hours I was sent a quote that made my jaw drop (over 2.5x the price a larger event cost me last year) and was told that they were "working with me" by not demanding a food and beverage/catering minimum on top of that. By the looks of this quote the cost of lanes per hour is now $50 and they raised the cost of shoe rentals to $4.89 (up from $4.50... cus you have to literally nickle and dime those prices up). The explanation for the massive difference was that Garage didn't have good business practices and their successful corporation has brought them out. Fair enough, grab all you can get but that's going to be a hard pass from me and the business I used to bring. If you MUST bowl in Cap Hill or at Garage, maybe join the Better Off Bowling league they do where you can bowl for a season for $69 (which includes the cost of shoe rental), but I'd be willing to wager those costs will be going up soon, or that the league will have to stop using Garage too.
