I thought it was a fun atmosphere to eat lunch in. From the race cars to the oil rags for your napkins and fun flags all around the restaurant. Quick summary; the the place has a fun atmosphere, the food looks great, but food taste average and not worth the price. However you don't want to drive outside of the south end valley, and don't mind paying $20 a person for average food it's fine. Not to be confused with the famous Garage on Beck Street in Salt Lake. I have been wanting to try this for since it opened. The place was busy when we went in there on a Saturday night no wait to be seated. The decor was very cool, I loved the cars, I took my kids and they had fun looking at the cars also. (under 21 allowed with an adult) The food all looked really great, and some unique spins on some classic american food. However the food just tasted ok. The "garlic burger" tasted like any other cheese burger with way too much mayo. The beat burger was interesting, with beats, and egg, not sure it really works. I enjoying going to Garage Grill but my husband is not a fan. The food is tasty but the portions are very, very small for the price. It also takes a long time to get your food once it is ordered. My husband also indicates that his drinks tend to be watery.... maybe not a full ounce and the food is salty. I enjoy the chicken and salads. I would not recommend the sushi either. My favorite spot to grab a beer after a long day. The beer is good, the atmosphere is fun, and the people are amazing; I haven't found anything on the menu that I dont like. Management: 0 Went to Garage Grill on Sunday @ 10:45 am for Brunch with no crowds, 4 tables occupied - It took 25 mins to be seated and get coffee. Ordered the classic breakfast, wife had the eggs Benedict. I sent the eggs back 2 times because they were overcooked (the cooks were challenged by over medium), but I also sent back the toast. TOAST !!! The food tastes like your mother's frozen dinners - mediocre at best, most of the time .. disappointing. The potatoes tasted pre-cooked and sitting around a while and the hollandaise sauce seemed like it came out of a packet. The manager only came around after i signed the check. He only approved of 50% off the classic I had to send back twice. and he just said "sorry", nothing else to try and get me to come back. We looked around at the other tables. Pizzas looked undercooked, burgers looked overcooked, tater tots looked liked they were from Costco. I wonder what the next place will serve. read more

Me and my boys go every friday for our work lunch and this place is simply the tits. Shoutout to my boy Antonio, he's the best waiter there is. We request him every time, he's patient, kind, recommends great stuff - we even took two ladies for their first garage grill experience today and they loved Antonio and thought he was on point. Horrible experience. Waiter recommended the blackened fish tacos and said how fresh they were. I went for it. All 7 other people at my table got their meals and I was told mine was taking a little longer because they were waiting for the fish to thaw. Then they start clearing plates from my family who had finished the meal and the waiter said he took it off the bill (I still have no food) and that "it sucks" and that they must have given my food to someone else. Then I get my food and as soon as he sets it down I ask for a box because everyone is done eating. The waiter brings me a tiny box that fits maybe one taco and says that's the only size they have. I bite into the taco and it's a bunch a cabbage and then a little bite of fish on top and it's cold. He magically found a larger take out box but I left the cold tacos on the table and we left. A manager never came to talk to us (it wasn't busy, when we arrived we were one of maybe 3 tables) and we weren't even given a discount on the bill. I am appalled by the service and would love to give zero stars. You would think when you go out to eat you would actually get to eat. read more

We moved here a year ago, and really loved this place. We would come here at least once a week, but the last two times we've tried, we walked out pissed off. The one time we were there on a weekday afternoon, and they were not busy, and we got seated, and sat there for 10 minutes without anyone coming by our table to take our order. So we walked out. So tonight we wanted to try their new fajitas, so they said it would be a ten minute wait so after 20 minutes, I went up and asked how much longer and the girl said that they had a party of 50 people that walked in and they were dealing with that, it would be 10 more minutes, so we walked out again. The place was not busy, there were plenty of clean tables that were empty where they could have seated us. Garage Grill, WTF?? Get your shit together, you were awesome but you are are starting to Suck now, it will be a long time before we try again, hope your still in business by then. read more

Three of us got the patty melt and we all sent it back. The taste was absolutely disgusting. Others got the Reuben, Long Beach burger, Sandra fe salad and mac n cheese and they all said they were mediocre at best. My second try was the fish tacos and they were dry and bland. Atmosphere is cute and service was good but food is very disappointing. I have been going here for some time and it appears that the management style has finally changed for the better. Last night we observed him stepping in where it was very busy and made sure that every table was taken care of. Our server was attentive and I liked the interaction and for that I will definitely be back. The food for us was good. I like the menu. The place was packed, we got in within 10 min , I could tell our server was busy but she made time for us and was great with our kids , treated them like people not like just those people kids they loved that , she talked me into the fish and chips and my wife got the apple pizza. My first visit experience was marked by several examples of employees not being sufficiently customer oriented nor proactive. Most notably, a very long wait for any server to initially come to the table. Overall, seemed that the staff collectively didn't proactively look for ways to make the customer feel valued. To their credit, the General Manager was extremely responsive. He took the time to understand the issues, has a clear plan for developing service capabilities, and demonstrated a sincere commitment to a customer focus. The restaurant has just opened which may account for some of the blips. I will visit again. read more

Cool place and everyone is super friendly. We went on a Sunday without knowing they don't serve sushi on Sundays, which was pretty disappointing. The 2 Star is because my parents spent $22 on splitting halibut fish and chips and they only ate 2 of the 4 pieces because it was very dry. When I mentioned it to the server she apologized and informed us when she brought the bill they discounted it. Unfortunately, taking $4.40 off a $22 meal that was half eaten hardly seems like a proper customer service solution. The rest of us enjoyed our food. read more

First visit I would have given 5 stars this time was horrible. Food was amazing service was less then satisfactory. Very slow, waitress was frazzled and when the manager helped her out with the food I asked him to take off my side salad I ordered since it never came out and he was rude about it. The atmosphere of this place is pretty awesome and service is good.. however, the food was really subpar. Which is really disappointing for the price. I wanted to love this place when I first when in, the food names got me really excited for my meal (which ended up being about $19 a person - we didn't even get drinks!) but the food itself made me not want to return to this establishment. The buns for our burgers were drenched in grease to the point that mine fell apart the second I touched it. The sides were okay, but again completely covered in grease. I feel like for the price of the food, it should be presented a LOT better. Come here if you're with a group and want the "garage" atmosphere, and are only going to get drinks. Maybe the chef had a bad night and that reflected on the food so I might return for another try but we'll see. read more

They had me at $2 mimosas. Loved the fish tacos although it could have used slightly more fish. It doesn't detract from their rating, though, because the flavor was not wanting. My son and husband ordered the bacon mushroom burgers and thought it was juicy and huge. Tator tots were crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. We went there on a whim for dinner with friends last night; first time for both couples. The atmosphere was fine, certainly more than adequate. The cars were interesting, but we didn't really take much time looking at them. The service was excellent; our server was very helpful, and when we asked for recommendations, she actually got enthusiastic about some items (the ribs, the Rueben and the fish tacos in particular). My friend and I each had the ribs, my wife had the chicken salad, and my friend's wife had the fish tacos. Each of was more than happy with our choices, and I have to say that the ribs were simply amazing! HUGE pile, way more than I could eat (and I can eat a lot of ribs)! I do think that'd I ask for the bbq sauce on the side next time; the dry rub was amazing, and I'd like to very the ratio of the sauce (which I liked) to my taste. I also loved the sweet potato fries. Not sure why all the poor or mediocre reviews, but I can say the our experience was excellent, and we will be back! read more

Chips were not very fresh, very little taste. Queso was so runny that every time you dipped a chip, it dropped all over the table. Stopped in a road trip it's a ways off of I-15 but worth it to avoid the usual chains. As a race fan I enjoyed the decor. Lots of race banners, parts, and a handful of retired cars. The owner and staff treated us well. We tried the tater tot nachos. Lots of flavor by I'll pass on the jalapeños next time. I had a Cobb salad. Everything was fresh and tasty. My co-diners had shepherds pie and the monza salad - no complaints. I recommend this if your in the area or want a nice stop off the interstate. read more

Ok place to come on a fri for ... (gasp.....) happy hour. Good beer. Decent food. Servers are good and friendly..but as for most utah bars/grills...they are slow taking drink orders and bringing drinks. Example - server took our appetizer and drink orders at the same time, and our food came out first, before our drinks. That doesn't fly outside of utah. read more

My wife and friends had dinner a week ago and raved about the Garage. Last night we went to dinner along with the other husbands. As a former racer i was in heaven first there are race cars in the lobby not to mention the patio and amazing view. There were even heaters to make the experience more comfortable. I was suprised that 5 different employees kept checking on our table and were very friendly, a coulle of them actually sat down aa visited with us. I also noticed the owner making an attempt to go to eacb table was enjoying their meal, be was outside turning on the heaters when it started to cool off. We have never felt so comfortabe having fun with friends and good food. I know where we are going next week. Its nice to have such a different type of place to go and hang out. We're seniors and the restaurant is a bit loud for our taste so we always get carry out. Draper has few options so we are glad to have them near by. The menu is good, the food is good, but carry out always seems to have a problem. Please please please check the orders before sending them out. This would be a 5 star review otherwise. The problem is that there is always something missing or wrong on the order. If not for that, the food is great. I'll keep trying and edit the review if we get better success. read more

We recently moved here from Charlotte where we lived for 13 years. We were looking for a fun place to dine one or two evenings a week (Date night). We found it at the Garage Grill. Food is superior and a very good value. Lots on the plate. Try the salmon dinner. Try the Wedge I promise it is more than you can eat with a meal. Cheeses are great. All Fabulous. Waffle fries are unbelievable! I always take some if not half my plate home. Great food value. Service is good and excellent if you want your food prepared and not just "fixed". Good food takes time to prepare. We sit around the bar "no smoking" it is comfortable and usually easy to get to. Met the Manager/owners all three good concerned people. They want it done right and is has been for them times we have been there. We will return. read more
