I stopped by Garage-East while visiting Scottsdale on a weekday with some friends and we sat outdoors. The waitress Chloe was extremely friendly and attentive. She was very knowledgeable about wine and recommended a very good red for me and white for my friend. It was a quiet evening but several tables were filled. I definitely recommend this unique spot for dates or a catch-up. I wish they had food because we had to leave when we got hungry. There are small snacks and you're able to order food next door, but we decided to go elsewhere. I even bought a Garage-East wine glass to bring home as a souvenir! This place is gorgeous! My husband and I spent a good half of our day roaming around the complex. We ate brunch at Joe's Farm, and then we made our way to Garage East. We sat on the patio and split a bottle of wine. The weather was perfect, the server checked on us just the right amount, and we had the patio to ourselves. In love with this place! We went in Saturday afternoon for a tasting-$10 for 6, 1 oz pours that you choose. Great descriptions for each of the wines made it easy to choose my six & I loved every single one aside from the Sonoran Spritz. It was too bitter/mediciney tasting for me personally. I also had the Pinot Gris, Rose, Breakfast Wine, Cab Franc & Red Blend and I loved all of them. The Red Blend was my personal favorite and my husband absolutely loved the Cab Franc & Tempranillo! We will definitely be back! My only dislike is that it's $10 more to have a bottle to drink there. Maybe that's normal and I just need to get out more, but it was a turnoff for me. $47 to drink a bottle of the Red Blend in store or $37 to take it home & drink. I came here today with my Grandma who was visiting from California. I live close to this place but had never been as I don't get out much, and I happen to be on maternity, leave so wanted to go on a week day when no crowds. She wanted to do wine tasting, so I decided we should give this place a try. We got to choose 6 different wines to taste for $10. Then got a local meat and cheese tray to snack on while tasting the wines. The entire experience was excellent and I really enjoyed it all. The only food options they offer is the local meat and cheese tray you can order, free potato chips to table, free olives to tables, and a list of desserts you can order. So they offer some food, but this place is mainly for trying wines. They have food places located next door if hungry after wine tasting. First time here and it definitely won't be my last! This place is such a gem and such a great addition to the Gilbert scene. I didn't get a chance to peruse their wine list much, but they have a more than ample selection. The sangria here is absolutely fantastic; perfect for a sunny afternoon on the patio. The description said that it was prepared with "secrets," which we found out were ginger beer and cinnamon. Either way, it was one of the best sangrias I've had outside of Spain. We grabbed a salad and pizza from Fire and Brimstone next door and the combination was just perfect. They also host tons of wine events and have music on weekend nights. The staff here are all so sweet and their patio is roomy and dog friendly. Garage East definitely has a winning combination! read more

What a great place! We had a dog with us, service dog, but we were welcomed with open arms. We sat outside and the owner came out and was so friendly and helpful--all the staff who came out to check on us were wonderful. The menu is limited, but it offered just what we needed--we chose from about 5 different sandwichs and they also offer chacuterie boards. But what I was really interested in was the wines made from grapes grown in Arizona--I am from Oregon and love discovering new local wines when I travel. They were delicious! We were able to try a few before deciding on a bottle, and happy hour is from 11 to 4, so we got a great buy! We loved the red blend--Garage-East Water Towers I believe is the name. What is super great is you can bring in food from the other venues nearby that offer a larger variety of choices. I have lived across the street from this gem for over two years now and have never been here until now. I have definitely been missing out ! the wine here is fantastic and the service is wonderful ! They have lots of outdoor seating that is super comfortable. Live music that actually sounds GREAT! It's also right next door to the brewery, so you can get your craft beer fix. Watched two other couples come in after us and they were seated, ordered and served while sat wondering when we turned invisible. 1/28/18 We came back to try this place again and this time had the 100% opposite experience. Tried this place out for the first time on New Year's Eve and it was awesome! Great atmosphere and it was so relaxing. They had live music and fire pits going (for warmth and for s'mores ). Love going to enjoy a glass of quality AZ wine in a relaxed environment. They have a really nice cheese board but other than that generally don't serve food BUT you can bring food. What a fun place to come and catch up with an old friend or for a girls night. I came for the first time on Monday night and was rightfully turned around and confused with all that's there. Garage-East is a wine bar where you can bring food from your favorite restaurant or order from the pizza place next door and they will bring it to your table. We ordered a salad, pizza and s'mores dessert which was delicious and delivered quickly to our table. We sat outside and the heaters felt so good in the November chill. Garage-East also provides blankets to the guests. For a first timer everyone was so nice and friendly when asking for directions. I want to give this place 5 stars, but 1 out of 3 times was a less than stellar experience. I do enjoy the local wine selection and the red blend in particular because they give you separate decants and you can blend and balance it to your own satisfaction. The charcuterie board is simple yet tasty. During the week in the evening, not too busy, that visit was 5-stars. If you don't like their in-house food selection, you can order from the pizza place or joes farm grill (very convenient). 2nd visit, went on a Saturday afternoon to enjoy the weather outside and it was very busy and the service was acceptable. The last time we went, it was a weekend afternoon. It was extremely busy and we were told to grab a seat and a server would be right over. We waited for over 30 mins and I had to walk into the bar area and raise a raucous in order to get service. We were then told we needed to let someone at the front know we were there. The same person that told us that was the one that told us to grab a seat. A little befuddling if you ask me. I want to give this place another shot but there's better service at other wine bars so this one might have to wait. The best places have the best service. No excuse to leave customers hanging for 30 mins. read more
