My garage door decided to quit working two days ago. Based on the Yelp listing, I called this company, who dispatched a person to take a look within a few hours. When I asked what the service call cost was, I was quoted $39 over the phone. The serviceman who came, Zac, was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Without thinking and asking the vital question "how much?" I gave him the OK to proceed with repairs. Two hours later I was presented with a bill for $641, more than the original installation cost of the door and all the trimmings. The actual hourly charge was $165./hr. I was also quoted the cost of a new door opener with a heavy-duty rail at $500+. I originally paid less than the $641 for the entire set-up from another company - door, opener and everything, which may be why it keeps breaking. I have no complaints with the work and the personnel. I just think that $165/hr is a bit excessive, although I plan on asking more questions in the future before the fact. BTW, they do not accept checks - only credit and debit cards. read more
