Okay, I do agree with Adam on principal; kids are kids; they generally don't care what they wear…read moreand if they do they opt for the Buzz Lightyear costume over the Diesel jeans any day, and will then proceed to get whatever they wear covered in mud, paint, pasta sauce and porridge. So, when all is said and done, expensive clothes for kids are a big no-no in my book. However... my sometimes overwhelmingly ridiculous side cannot help but be bowled over by the sight of a three year old in a military style woolen coat. Something along the lines of how I react to Pets At Home. OHOSOCUTE!! And you know, sometimes I think it strengthens the bond between mother and child by having the child dressed so smartly, so... sometimes - SOMETIMES it's worth getting the high quality stuff and keeping your child away from all puddles and ice-cream on days they're wearing it. The rest of the time, I do think wasting money in such a fashion is insane. But for those special times - head along here and ease your fashion minded desires by taking them out on your kids. It'll be worth it someday.... ok, maybe not.

Ok folks i just don't get it. I cant actually bring myself to understand why in the name of jebus…read morewe are obsessed with clothing our kids in ridiculously overpriced clothing. As i may have mentioned in my review for another kids store in the city (see love it again) i'm pretty sure that kids are those small things that play with mud, roll down hills and generally do messy, dirty things on a daily basis. So, answer me this why are we dressing them in designer gear when a hessian sack would be more appropriate....hmmm and a possible business idea!! That said however, if your of the opinion that your child should match you in your designer gear then this place will provably suit you and judging by the amount of time this store has been in business, it looks like there are a few of you out there. With cool signage, funky window displays and a name that will always appeal (any Beatles related place will always have a look in) Strawberry Fields is the benchmark and elder statesman of the designer gear for kids emporiums. You say Dolce and Gabbana..i say hessian sack.

Of course, the plan fell down when I realised that he was no longer of the age where they still order sizes by months. The clothes are cool, a little expensive but well made and stylish. The staff were very patient as I tried to work out my nephew's size, and made good suggestions even when I went on about his hobbies, in the hope that would help me. One warning: this site is one that seems to struggle. In the past few years, it has changed hands frequently- it used to be a great Green Tea shop cafe. I hope that Peace can overcome the history.

Peace and Jam appeared on the scene about a year ago, and I must admit I was surprised at the time…read morethat so many babygrows exist in the one place. You could rack through the pretty, quirky kids clothes for ages! They host an eclectic assortment of clothes for children up to 8 years, from quaint looking plaid dresses to punky duds for romping tots. It's probably the only shop I've ever been to where I've seen a skull sweatband for a 2 year old, and my wee baby cousins would like the wee combat trousers and camoflage tops. My cousin recently surprised us with a baby (when I say surprised I mean she told us after she had popped Noah out) so I made an impromptu shopping expidition to buy some new baby pressies. It was a whole load of fun but whoa, the prices are steep. I bought a dummy, rompersuit and jumper and it cost my an arm and a leg - almost caught me off guard as much as her having a surprise September baby did. So if you're going to go nuts spending like I did, be prepared for the cost. But with the friendly staff and seriously cute knitted pirate jumpers, it's the kind of place you would be willing to part with money in. Maybe it's just as well I don't have a bambino just yet, as I'd probably spend more money in here, kitting my baby out to be a mini punk rocker, than buying food and prams and all that necessary nonsense! It's cool that a baby shop exists where you can find some cute and different gifts.

The little cosy hoodies in particular are just, awwwwwwwww!! As Eleanor mentioned the ratio of boys to girls clothes is a lot more even than most other kids clothing stores. There is a lot more variety, colour and style wise in the boys section than you'll find in other stores also. As you would expect the clothes in Baby Gap are quite expensive but the quality is as good as the adult Gap clothes. They can handle having baby sick and snot washed out of them umpteen times without bobbling or the colour fading!

Aww - that is exactly what I thought when I popped in here today. Baby GAP is very cute indeed,…read morethey have so many dinky little outfits to make your tot look like a cool cat. One thing I found great about this shop is that they have a 50/50 split boys and girls clothes, in fact, it may even be 55 boys. My friend has recently had a baby boy and I've noticed that many shops seem to have more girls clothes than boys, so I think it's great that Baby GAP have just as much choice. The shop is bright, clean and very well organised so it's easy to find the sizes that you're looking for. They had some super cute baby grows, little booties and even miniature GAP hoodies but at £17.50 they don't come cheap - you wouldn't want baby food spilt down that! There were a few staff working who greeted me with a smile even though they were helping other customers which was nice.
