I've eaten at Le Palais du Maharadja in Chaville on several occasions while on holiday in France…read moreover the last month and I haven't been disappointed. We chose this Restaurant due to its walking-distance proximity to where we're staying in Chaville. As lovers of Indian food, finding ourselves staying near this restaurant was in a small way serendipitous. They've treated our children well and were very patient with my not-very-advanced French, and they have even been willing to speak some English, though from my perspective it's better to force me to get by badly in French than communicate easily in English, as I learn much more that way. However for most natives of the Anglosphere this will be a good thing indeed as we are spoiled by the sheer number of people who speak our language abroad, which we do not often reciprocate. The food has always been good though never great. Perhaps it's a different or even more authentic style of cooking Indian food (I claim ignorance on this point) but I've found it lacking in a certain sweetness I find in most other other Indian cooking, but this is a very minor complaint. The Cheese Nan is excellent, which the kids find to be very tasty. We've sampled Butter Chicken, various dishes of lamb, and I believe a chicken or lamb Punjab which was excellent. One word of warning, if you have more than one young child, you may want to consider splitting one Menu Enfant rather than ordering one for each - the amount of food on one plate is enormous. We fed all three with one Menu Enfant. They also do doggie bags, which I find endearing in a land where this generally looked down upon. I must confess not understanding why it is better to throw food away than eat it later though, so my compliments for going against the grain on this one. I do recommend Le Palais du Maharadja.

I have visited this place with my Son. We had ordered their pre manu full dish with appetizers,…read more main course and desert. We had order Chicken Kebab, chicken curry, chicken korma and regular nan wirh kulfi as a desert.as an extra order pakora also.( 5 pcs for 5€) We have requested , Please serve nan wirh main course but, they bring it first thing on table. Chiken Kabab wasn't bad for taste. Besides that chiken curry and chiken korma was tasteless. Just boil chiken 3 cubes served with gravy. Chiken curry was tate like butter chiken. For desert we had kulfi, it was nice in taste but served with spoon, they need to think how customer will cut it and eat... it was flying in bowl. For service, they were very BZ running with other customer as of Saturday night but still we ask 2 different guys for check out and still need to wait for 10 min. In short this is not authentic indian taste if ur looking for. Price v/s taste v/ s Quantity, it's not there. It's expansive place. I wouldn't go back....

My father and I had the: Taj Mahal and Shandari…read moreWhich included: 2 chicken kebabs, 1 chicken korma, 1 chicken curry Pakora And 2 kulfis Taste: Bland, felt like boiled chicken pieces which were just added into the sauce, NOT AUTHENTIC NOR DOES IT ACTUALLY TASTE LIKE IT SHOULD Quantity: Very small portions, given we took the meal deal orders, we've tried other Indian restaurants whom offer more food with the same meal deal Service: Disrespectful, they did not ask how the food was, nor come ask us how we were doing. There was not customer service. When we said we were ready pay, they did not give us the receipt until we asked a second time to another server and wait a total of 10min. UNNACEPTABLE. Price; Given I'm from montreal, I've noticed that qty/$ is different here. We got only 3 giant chunks of the meals, so they can organize it better. The prices were 22 and 25$, I would give it a 15-18$ instead. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND, there are better places. I'm Indian from montreal, so I've got some French culture in me, these guys don't know restaurant service, price, or quality.

Came here after an exhausting day of walking and biking around Versailles. Since the food at…read moreVersailles was overpriced and they did not allow outside food to be brought into the palace we opted for some Indian food before taking the train back to Paris. We thought it must be a good place since the restaurant was pretty full when we walked past it. For a group of 6, we shared the garlic and herb Naan, fish tikka masala, chicken tikka masala, cheese paneer, and butter chicken. The waiter recommended on ordering two more entrees since we were a party of 6 but we wanted to see if it was enough food. However, the restaurant closes 2:30pm so whatever we ordered should suffice. We ordered king fisher and that was delivered pretty quickly. It was served in plastic king fisher cups. We asked for tap water and that didn't arrive into mid meal. He did hear us but was very slow about serving it. The Naan came out first and both looked the same on the outside. Inside had the different flavors with one bursting with a ton of garlic and the other not so great. The entrees came out next and were more like appetizer sizes. I can only imagine how small the appetizers would be. There were two pieces of fish for the fish tikka and three pieces of chicken for the chicken tikka. The butter chicken had more pieces but were smaller in size. Each has a lot of sauce which was decent but definitely not up to standard. Service sucked completely. Friend tried to come back to use the restroom after we left and the guy was pretty rude about it. He had to tell him he JUST ate here until he let him in. I guess since there is no requirement to tip in Europe the service fails but this was pretty crappy. If you pass by this going to or from Versailles then keep walking.
