The burger was one of the best I've ever had. It was the perfect blend of savory and salty, with a surprisingly complex tang from the cheese. The owner, who lived in the U.S. for many years, is a great guy, with funny kids, and the restaurant's on a quaint street in Oeiras. That said... ...there's this place. I was tired, we were cold, and miles from our Air BnB neighborhood, and I needed fuel. I grimaced when I first laid eyes on it, but then, as we drew closer, I spotted their menu (pretty extensive), their bar (complete) and their other goodies (smoothies, etc.). My "I've-been-away-from-the-USA-for-too-long" feeling kicked in, and I suddenly, desperately craved a burger. Make that a cheeseburger. AND fries. The burger was juicy and delicious. The fries were, well, fries. The beer was large and cold (Heineken on tap?). My wife's three cheese salad, while not astounding, did have plenty of goodies in it - enough to spark it up. She even enjoyed a glass of their Portuguese "green wine," and it was very nice! (...somewhere between a Riesling and a Pinot Grigio in terms of sweetness, IMHO.) Even the coffee was spot-on. Overall, a VERY pleasant surprise! Oh, and it wasn't a pop-up place after all, it just didn't have typical walls. ;-)

The fries that come with the meal are delicious: covered in garlic and oregano with a creamy mayonnaise dressing on the side. I have tried the following three sandwiches, and all were excellent: 1) The portobello mushroom burger with with tofu, an egg, and tomato. 2) Ba-BaLu: the seitan burger with pineapple and caramelized onions--- incredible! 3) Smoked tofu burger: like the portobello burger, but with a smoky undertone. I have also tried some of the vegetarian restaurants in town (Terra, The Cherry Garden) but they are rather expensive compared to this filling and delicious vege burgers. Highly recommended!
