I stopped into 2nd & Charles specifically because I was looking for used books. The store itself is…read morehuge and has a really large selection, but I realized pretty quickly that it wasn't quite the used-book-shopping experience I was looking for. The new and used books are all mixed together on the shelves. There isn't a separate used section or an obvious way to tell which books are used until you actually pull one off the shelf and look at the price sticker. Some of the used books are in excellent condition, which is great, but you definitely have to dig around to find them among all the new books. I actually asked an employee at the front if there was a particular section where I could find the used books. He basically said, "Nope, they're all mixed in," and showed me what the sticker looks like so I'd know how to identify them. Personally, I didn't love that setup. Part of the fun of going to a used bookstore for me is knowing that I'm browsing used books and seeing what treasures I can find. Here, it felt more like shopping at a regular bookstore and occasionally discovering that a particular copy happened to be used. I would much rather have the used books separated, or at least have the store primarily consist of used books with a smaller selection of new ones. That said, if you're equally interested in new AND used books, this could actually be a great place for you because the selection is massive. They also have a trade-in/consignment-type setup where people can bring in their old books. I saw several people doing that while I was there, although I didn't personally go through the process, so I can't speak to how it works or what they offer in return. Overall, there's absolutely no shortage of books here. It just wasn't quite the used bookstore experience I was hoping for. If you enjoy digging through a huge selection and don't mind checking individual books to see whether they're new or used, you'll probably have a much better time with the setup than I did.

As far as the store itself. It's on the top floor of the…read moreantique mall and it's extremely overstuffed and narrow once you get up there. There are loose figures in metal wire baskets on endcaps, and the toys are dirty, broken and literally falling apart when you pick them up. I have found some rare and really great finds, including one toy I had been searching for and wanting for nearly 20 years. So many cool things, but most of it is overpriced. It's tough to find anyone to help with the items behind the counter, as it's almost always empty with no one in sight. When you do find somebody, they seem uninterested in helping and act like they're being put out by having to do part of their job. It's such close-quarters in there, that's a pain to stop and look at anything. It's best to buy in person and take your stuff downstairs to the front of the building instead of buying online, because the owner is not nice when selling his things on eBay. While I do like a good bit of the selection and they have some really unique and "gotta-have-em" items, It's not somewhere I'd return to very often as their selection doesn't vary that much and rarely do I see new additions to the shelves.

Standard GameStop in a busy strip mall area behind Chick-fil-A off Lynnhaven…read more I purchased two used Xbox 360 games for pickup and stopped in yesterday. The guy inside was working alone and on the phone answering a bunch of questions but had my order ready to go and pickup was a breeze. I walked around quickly and scanned the store and saw a good selection of new items for the Xbox One and latest PlayStation. Lots of accessories and games but no consoles and extreme hardware around. Also, while they had lots of accessories for it and some games, they didn't have a ton of Nintendo stuff right now but I don't think it's anywhere really. Especially not the console itself.

There seemed to be a really good selection of used Switch games here at this location, so that's a perk! And they were open earlier than the other location on a Sunday. I am so disappointed and frustrated with my experience with Redbox yesterday! I went to the…read morewebsite and reserved two movies for Kangaroo Express Outdoor movies Kiosk B. When we arrived at the Kiosk, it was not working and wouldn't give up the DVDs. We manually punched in the same movies at Kiosk A, next to it, and got the movies we had reserved. When we got home, we called Redbox to make sure that we weren't charged twice. We waited 25 minutes on the line to talk to someone. The customer service rep, Eugene, said that he would issue two movie credits to take care of the balance. Today I see that the credits are not in my account but awaiting my rental of two more movies. I don't want to rent any more movies, but to use the credits toward the two movies that still show that they are awaiting pick-up. I called them back again tonight, waited 15 minutes for a rep, who then told me that I have to rent again to use those credits. This is a rip-off and a scam, since I don't want to rent any more movies but just want to clear my account. She had me wait five minutes for a supervisor to come on the line, but then she came back and said there aren't any supervisors who can help me. She said there is no email customer service also, so basically they are saying that I have no way to clear my account except to rent more videos and waste more of my time! This is very poor customer service and not in good faith!

Now while Dago royally TRUMPS any other reviewers with his impressive 44 "Check-in's" at this particular store (Wow, Dago! You must be the Ultimate Gamemaster)...I will at least provide one more perspective, since he was the only person as of yet to review this GameStop. The store setup is fun, friendly, and easy to navigate through. The staff is extremely helpful...and so they should be when you're plopping down on average 20 plus dollars per new game purchased (that's on the low end of new games). They have a large selection of used games for all you bargain hunters like me out there, and I even found a really fun soccer game for the boys PS3 for 1.99 while I was there! My boys were VERY thankful later for my good find! Now they do also buy your already used games if you want to get store credit/gift card for the store itself....BUT I was surprised with the small amount they are willing to pay for them (I'm new to this whole gaming thing, so it could have been the particular items I was trading in...and if they already have a number of them, I guess mine is just one amongst many...so I am stating this for the record so that you all can figure that into the equation). I guess I had too high of hopes for the actual items I was trading in since their new price was at a much higher price, and thought I would get at least 1/3 of that amount back in credit....but that was not what ended up happening for most of them sadly :( Don't come in with high hopes on the whole trade-in thing and you will be pleasantly surprised I am guessing! Or maybe unlike me, be a wiser shopper, and buy games that you already know will have a higher trade-in value!
