The post office wouldn't take it. I had to call the store and tell them they would have to sent a box. The post office here did this to me once before with sending a card that was pop up style and they told me it was too thick to be in an envelope. I had to spend $12 to $13 to send it out. It was more expensive than the card in it. After contacting the stole while I was at the post office we came to an agreement and they let me keep the cards. We stopped by once to check it out and buy some Warhammer 40k supplies (books and paints) and were greeted by friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. We decided to come back for Friday Night Magic and once again had a great time, with a super welcoming community and the staff, as usual, being great. If I had any feedback, I'd ask that they have more snacks to buy, especially coffee or energy drinks for game nights, and maybe adjusting the interior lighting. The bright white glare that they have in there currently does strain the eyes after a while, and there are some sections which are darkly lit, namely their 40k section. Their supplies were a little scant at the time (out of some primers and was hoping for more 40k minis) but I write this off to them having just opened and simply having a successful launch and a loyal customer base. Don't get me wrong - they have plenty of minis, but more singles would be great. I would also like to see them include nights for other MTG formats on the weekend, like Modern. Other than that, can't recommend them enough. I can definitely see myself becoming a regular here and I will 100% be back.

But this place had loads of customers, and a bunch of other regulars in a side room used for gathering for in person play. Jeremy got his wish. A group of our friends are planning on getting together at least one Friday a month to play the Wheel of Time RPG. And he suckered me into joining. So he insisted that I pick out my own dice, rolling tray (the non-herbal kind), and a bag to hold the dice. Toy Trains! Model Kits! And all the other art sets, car tracks, European and Japanese toys and "Stuff." You know how a modern store just has people behind the counter? Hobby Works has staff walking the floor to help you. And they really help. And they know their stuff. And when you're there, it's got that friendly clubhouse atmosphere like you stopped off here while walking home from school in the 6th grade. Sometimes it feels like with online shopping, kids won't ever experience the friendly local stores like we did. Not while Hobby Works is open, it's all modern, but it's a shopping experience that most stores lost over the years- and our kids deserve to experience that friendliness.

The guy managing the store was very helpful! There were different items for sale and I didn't know what I needed. He explained the differences between all of the items and he helped me get what I needed for my nephew. I also learned that pre-COVID the store would host Pokémon games in one of the rooms. I think that's awesome that the store hosted games where the community could get together. I hope they resume once the COVID era ends. (Do adults play Pokémon? After talking to him, I think it would be fun to learn.) Since this was my first time in a sport card shop, I was even able to get a small pack of baseball cards for my friend who collects them.
