We were given a quote and dropped off the controllers to be looked at. While we were there we had so much fun looking at all the retro games, consoles, accessories and cards that they have at the shop. Everyone was really nice, helpful and welcoming and we were really impressed with the whole experience. They ended up calling us a couple days later to let us know the diagnosis for our controllers and what they'd be doing to fix them up. The final cost was below the quote and we're so happy to be able to play some classic games with our well loved controllers again.

There's plenty of parking, though they do share their parking lot with food chains like Buffalo Wild Wings and Red Lobster. The interior is very spacious and clean! The floor is absolutely gorgeous and the air duct work being painted like Mario's green pipes is hilarious. They have the biggest selection of used games and consoles, carrying all the classics and newest. It almost reminds me a little of sneaker resellers the way they have things shrink wrapped and behind glass cases. Additionally they sell Pokémon cards, plushies and amiibos! Staff was super friendly, and very helpful even willing to look for an item at one of their other locations. We both picked up some sweet new additions to our collection and will for sure be back!

Ever since we moved to Sacramento a few years ago, every visit to 1-Up has felt like stepping into a real-life time machine. They carry video games from a plethora of consoles. They also have collectibles, box/collector sets, videos, etc. Long story short, I left with a pile of goodies. I thought the store was spacious to walk around with other people around. The displays were great. I liked how they converted an old grocery store veggie stand into a display on the right side. The only bummer is the tape and stickers used on the merchandise. I bought some mint in box items and the sticker price tag was so hard to peel off. It left a very bad sticky residue. I was able to clean it off most of the items. But, I worried that the paper boxes would be damaged if I used a solution. The staff was super friendly and answered all of our questions. I enjoyed the little lounge area in the front right while waiting for friends to checkout.

Sometime in my 30s though that all changed.As I got older,I came to appreciate the high quality of the medium,in regards to being able to have such complex stories work with such high quality artwork. So I started collecting comics and became a frequent customer to A-1 Comics in Roseville located on Sunrise Avenue. The top two things I love about this location are as follows. -Their employees really give excellent customer service.They are very helpful in assisting the customers in finding whatever they are looking for. A-1 has two other locations in the Sacramento area and multiple times I've been in Roseville and they were sold out of what I was looking for and they took it upon themselves to call their other locations to check if they had what I wanted-that's excellent customer service. -Second thing that truly stands out for me about A-1 is they aren't cheap on inventory-every week when new releases come out,they always have plenty of copies so that as many customers as possible have a good opportunity to get the issues they want-not all comic shops do this-others keep such limited inventory that they sell out too fast-A-1 rarely lets that happen. This Roseville location pretty much has its own parking lot,so there's always has plenty of parking available for its customers. In closing, I really do recommend this shop for all your comic needs-it's a pretty awesome place filled with pretty awesome employees and I always look forward to heading back out there.

Liam and Kate were so helpful and went above and beyond at my visit yesterday. They gave me a time frame of when I would be called via the intercom. The selection of books, CDs, DVDs, video games, and other exciting things were all presented with visual aesthetics. The rest of the staff assisted me with where the restroom was at and another person helped me out with where to go by directing me to the way to get there. Liam again helped me out with my books I placed on to the push carts. Kate was there to help me out at the cash register after I found a few books I have been looking for at other book stores and online.
