Found an excellent trade-in value offer on the website for 1 day only that specifically expired at the end of business day today 1/26/26, so raced over to my usual location at Canyon Springs 10 minutes before closing. I was greeted by Assistant Manager Ben and that was the only courtesy I received the entire visit. I mentioned the trade-in offer and at first he couldn't find the item on "his system". I proceeded to bring up item on my phone from website, but when I showed it to him he didn't even look at it and kept staring at "his system". When I suggested he search for "motionplus", one word, I was ignored. He eventually supposedly found the item and proceeded to ring it up for a fraction of the trade-in value indicated on the website. When I brought it up on my phone again and showed that it specifically said for today only 1/26/26 and read out loud the terms, he again refused to look at it and just kept saying, "Yeah, I'm not gonna do that". When I reiterated that the offer was shown on his company's website and I asked him whether or not he was going to honor his company's website, he again unapologetically refused and said he could give me the number to corporate. He never once offered to look into resolving the discrepancy, did not thank me for coming in, "sorry I couldn't help you", or even "have a good night", or provide even the most minimal customer service when I walked out. Very rude. However, when I drove 6 miles to the Riverside Plaza Gamestop, the trade-in value "magically" showed up in their system and they did indeed honor the promotion. Thanks for nothing, Ben, other than wasting my time! I got better service from the Gamestop I frequent less than my usual Gamestop at Canyon Springs! I also work in customer service myself, and I would never treat a customer with such apathy and disregard like I was treated with by Ben. I was told I was going to get help after I downloaded and I waited for a few minutes before deciding to go back in line again since ... you know I stepped out of line. Every time I come into this store the service is terrible, first off they never answer their phone because they're "busy" but it doesn't matter what time of day you walk in there is maybe one customer and they have a hard time wrapping up or finishing the transaction. I try and call ahead if I'm looking for a game or collectible so I don't waste my time going in and dealing with there poor service. This last visit I went looking for a specific game and I didn't find it on my own I saw the cashier had one customer I waited patiently and when it was finally my turn the cashier told me their Wi-Fi was down and she wasn't able to look up any titles. That was it end of story she didn't bother looking for the game or calling another store nothing. The store is never stocked with anything new. This location is the closest to me but I would rather drive down to Moreno beach location for better service and better stock. With this GameStop being the closest to where I lived I feared it would be like any other GameStop I have been to. When my wife and I went to make a very large trade-in (Xbox 360, PS3, iPhone 4S, and multiple games for each system), we were delighted to be helped by Michael. Not only was he very welcoming and friendly, but he was very knowledgeable about the whole trade-in process. During our long transaction period of what consisted of more than an hour Michael was able to make it feel like a breeze. We were able to chat about different games and systems and I felt like he understood my play style and the games that I enjoy playing. Overall we were thrilled with the whole process and our purchases that evening. We have never been to a GameStop with such a welcoming and friendly staff. This is where we usually get our ps3 games. Staffs are friendly and knowledgeable. Place is clean and organized. Prices (as far as new games) are pretty much the same as everywhere else. They have a wide selection of USED games thats pretty inexpensive. Some of the USED games they have barely just came out too. We don't buy accessories here though, it seems cheaper to buy those online (Amazon.com). They have TRADE-In program too, which I'm not too familiar with but I see a lot of people bringing in their old games for store credit or straight trade. read more

They give you little things for preorders but now everyone else does that too.
