Walked in, two ladies behind the counter were talking about video games very loudly. So loud that they failed to address me or even notice me or the other few customers in the store. One customer was trying to ask a question but the conversation kept going. I heard another customer laughing at them, because it was like a scene from a Kevin Smith movie. I'm really not sure what particular game it was but the conversation was getting intense... they talked about the long sword being super slow and chopping off tails, and they have to test out every weapon available now, and... and... now I really want to know what game it was! But I left empty handed, no good sales going on and honestly not worth my time. read more

Sierra is the best worker there! I needed quick help and I went to the store. Sierra was working there and she was extremely busy but she luckily got through the line and got to me and when I went back to return the game that I had purchased, I was one day over the day of return and she still took my return, even though she was very busy. read more

Waited about 15 minutes while the employees called people for a reason I'm not sure. At no point was I so much as greeted. Condescending employees. Went to buy a NEW game. Of course they try to sell me some already opened, gutted game with stickers all over it as new. How am i supposed to give that as a gift?? Our adventure with Gamestop began with the Lincoln store at Legends - which was a terrible experience - where my choice of games was completely discounted and gave me a very bitter taste about Gamestop in general. The Lincoln store said that the Mae Anne had an adapter that we needed... we called and were told that they may not have had them but they would look (since we were driving there based on what the Lincoln store told us). We arrived and were told that they DID have the adapters that we wanted, and apologized for the confusion with the other store. The gentleman was very friendly, helped us understand our basic membership on their players club verses the one that you pay for, and also explained a recent promotion. We really had a good experience here and appreciate the great customer service, knowledgeable assistance and prompt attention to our concern. Thank you for a great experience! :) read more

Horrible customer service! Bought an Xbox One that had a bad reader, took back 2 hrs later & they said they wouldn't exchange it- needed to contact Microsoft & ship out to fix!!! Too bad receipt says 30-day exchange so they have to take it back. In addition we called several times to trouble shoot & calls were being rejected saying try back later... Well while I was calling, hubby in store making second attempt to exchange- and no customers there. Too lazy to answer phone & help people. Lost our business!! It's hard to say I love the staff in this place, because, come on, it's a retail outlet. Meaning it has something like a four month employee turnover. It's a place for teenagers to work for a couple minutes until they... go off and do something else. Teenagers have short attention spans when it comes to employment. And yet, paradoxically, I *do* love the staff in this place. Every time I go in this store, I have a ten-minute chat with the cashier about games I've liked, and he or she finds me something I've never heard of that I like even more. I guess the store manager must know how to pick 'em. Anyway, now that Gamestop has methodically eliminated or bought all of its competitors, this is the best place in Reno to buy games by default. It's a decent store and most of the time are well stocked and the employees are great. However, one issue I have (that has nothing to do with the employees but rather the higher ups) is this stupid habit corporations have of telling the peons that they must push sells, SELL SELL SELL. Look. It doesn't work, okay? Please stop pushing so damn hard to sell me things. When I went in a week ago there was a sales lady who, I swear, ended every single sentence she uttered with an attempt to sell me more things. If I had bought everything she was pushing on me I would have spent a cool one thousand dollars. STOP DOING THIS. I don't want to go back because of the unrelenting pressure to BUY BUY BUY. Look, I go with twenty bucks here and there to buy a toy or a used game. RARELY do I have the money to drop on a seventy dollar game (something she pushed REALLY HARD on me) and if I want something I WILL ASK FOR IT. I don't want all the fifteen extras, the membership, the insurance, the two dollar whatever, just damn, PLEASE stop telling your employees push sells so hard. Honestly, as a gamer, I'm a bit ashamed to admit that I sometimes resort to going to Gamestop - sometimes you don't have much of a choice if they're offering bonus content with their preordered games. It's much cheaper to order games online instead of paying Gamestop's largely inflated prices. I can get a new game off Amazon that's cheaper than the same game that's preowned at Gamestop! Price aside, service has generally been pretty good at almost all Gamestops I've visited. That is not the case with this Gamestop. While some employees are polite, there are quite a few that are downright rude and dismissive. One particular employee, the large girl with long hair, has been very rude on several occasions. I'm never returning to this location. Either order your games online or go to a different Gamestop. read more

Mike and Mel are great. They know more than me which is great! Both are super nice all the time. They remember me, they know I'm a local. Anytime I come in, no question ask. They hook it up no matter what. If not they will track it down some what it another. Their is always people in the store when I go in. It a great location. GameStop needs more people like Mike and Mel! I've been having some issues with my mic for my xbox. They have helped me through all my problems with this issue. Went to trade in my used PS4 tonight to buy the newer PS4 Pro and final fantasy XV deluxe edition. The ps4 didn't have a controller and they told me they could not trade it in whatsoever, which was different from the week before when I was told it would be slightly discounted. I was about to spend quite a bit of money there and was instantly shooed away like I was 5 years old. I hate GameStop. Way to ruin my night, I've waited 10 years for Final Fantasy XV. read more

I've lived just a few miles from this store but today was the first time I've been in. Very glad we decided to stop by. Our primary goal today was to trade in (really to sell) my wife's iPad as we were looking to buy her a new one. The process here was quick and easy and the young woman who helped us was very friendly and efficient. We got substantially more here than Best Buy offered and could have gotten more had we taken a store credit (you get the choice of that or cash). Gamestop doesn't sell ipads so we took the cash, but while we were going that, I looked around the store and they have a great selection of video games and systems (new and used). I occasionally like to game so from now on this will be where I come first for all my purchases. read more

But the reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is because I literally have NEVER been able to get them on the phone it always just rings and rings for minutes at a time. As there does not seem to be a "general" listing for Gamestop online, and as I have already had a poor experience at this particular store that I YELP'd about, this seems as good a place as any to list my latest grievances. October 21: Ordered Fallout 4 from Gamestop Online-- order confirmation and tracking # obtained November 23: Checked tracking number as game had not yet been received... game was already out and... a month later, still no title. Tracking number stated there was no such an animal. Sent an email to "onlineorder.egain@gamestop.com" - automatic reply received my email had been received stating they would reply within 24 to 48 hours. November 27: Well, that 24 to 48 hours was obviously a falsehood... still had not heard from GameStop and sent another email to "orders@gamestop.com" with order # and tracking # and stated these people were rather upsetting. Game still not received. Screen shots taken of the original order and the tracking number. November 27, later in the day: Email received from Customer Care that apologized for waiting for the package and the poor service received. Stated they would escalate to their managers and a refund on Fallout 4 or free 2 day shipping on the game itself. I replied I simply wanted the refund at this point. November 28: Message from someone named "George" - told I could only get a refund as a virtual gift card or as a physical gift card. Not what I wanted, to deal once again with a brick and mortar, but I was willing to give it a try so requested the virtual gift card. November 29: No reply from GameStop, no virtual gift card receipt... asked when I would be receiving the refund? December 1: Still no email reply, no virtual gift card, nothing... I asked again for assistance. December 2: Awaiting a reply... nothing. Gamers spend a great deal of money at GameStop, whether online or at their brick & mortar. If this experience is one similar to yours, why not let consumers know? This is a store that has a severe problem with customer service and normal business courtesy. I would highly recommend that you avoid dealing with either GameStop's online site or their brick and mortar stores. My next step is a call to their corporate headquarters in Texas to see if I can find someone who can talk and chew gum at the same time. read more

Had a terrible customer service experience with their employee Patrick. He was rude and continued to make comments about how the store was closing soon. I made sure to call 45 mins before the store closed and explained what I needed to exchange and that I knew it took time. Patrick TOLD me to come down and get it taken care of. While I was there he talked down on the condition of my equipment (I didnt care what I got for it I was just looking to upgrade to a ps4 pro) and keep saying the store was closing in a unprofessional and rude manner. Why would someone tell a customer to come down if they didnt want to deal with it and then make them feel like they were in the wrong when I called to make sure it was okay beforehand?! After leaving and getting home I realized that he some how put my black playstation into safe mode. I finally get it out and now all it does is shut down constantly. I came in with a great attitude and excited to upgrade to a brand new ps4 pro and left with a busted ps4 and terrible customer service experience. I will make sure to tell others of the way Patrick treated me and will make sure others know to avoid this location if they are seeking a positive customer service experience. read more

For some of you this is the gamestop that's near you, but I'd highly recommend going to a different store. The service was incredibly rude, they don't know the policies on their products they sell, when you ask them a question they don't know the answer and need to contact their district manager which is not avilable, then finally get a response in a week. this location has super friendly and knowledgable staff. i ask about certain games and get honest opinions. ive even skipped on buying games due to the staffs reviews, thankfully saving me money on a game that would have sucked. the used selection is amazing and always changing. ive never gone in there and was told something was sold out or on back order so thats refreshingknowing i dont have to go all over to get the title i want. only thing i dislike is the resale prices...i buy a new game for $60 and finish it in 2 weeks. when i go to trade it in for credit twords another new game and im offered $12 for a game they still sell for $60 and is only 2 weeks old; thats like a taunting slap in the face. we sell it new for $60, buy it back in less than 2 weeks for $12, then resell it as a used game for $55?? thats just wrong. the best plan of attack....do not buy new games as soon as they come out...wait 2 weeks till someone like me trades it in, then you buy it used. the deal with used games is you can try them out for a week and if you dont like it, or beat games fast like me, you bring it back for a full refund/credit and do it all over again. this policy only works on used games. if you try this with a new game your stuck with the game, unless its defective, then they replace the defective one for another copy of the same game. used is the way to go read more

I went there last week and they were having a buy one get one free but he told me he would grab me another gaming system of my choice for free and add discounts! After the buy one get one free and all the discounts I walked out of the store with 3 game systems for the price of one! No joke! Hello we come in all the time and spend a ton of money at this store so I have noticed in the past and this visit with my young son how rude the manager (Andrew) was. He is always rude every time I have been in this store he never says hello. I always say hello to him when I walk into the store and he glares at me. Also yesterday when I was in with my son I asked him a question about a game and he snapped at me and said I am helping someone else right at the moment and then started to laugh like I was being rude to him. I would never interrupt someone and if I saw that he was helping someone else I would of waited my turn. Just to make sure I have the right guy Andrew the bald headed man. Anyway my experience with this character has upset me quite a bit. I feel that he talks down to us in front of my child. I feel that maybe I should take my business somewhere else in the future. The thing that makes me sad is that we come in all the time and Andrew knows us by face and knows we spend thousands of dollars at this store. You think we would be treated like a loyal customer. It is too bad because Bryan was so helpful with us. Bryan came right up and asked me if there was anything he could help us with asked my son only 8 years old if there was anything he was looking for. I was really impressed with Bryan as I felt that he was truly there to help us find what we need. On the other hand Andrew as a manager of the store never says thank you or can I help you with something. He is just straight out rude. I feel as a manager of a store that you are representing the whole deal.
