The shop is super well laid out and not cluttered and hard to shop, like a few other comic/collectible places we have been. As soon as we walked in, the attendants behind the register were so excited to welcome and help us find anything we needed. They came out to answer questions, and helped my husband find key issues he wanted (so we left with a lot of loot LOL) Aside from all the great comics, they also have collectibles, like plushies, Funkos, figurines etc. as well as a little spot for kids to play while their parents shop. They are called Legend Comics and COFFEE, and I was more interested in the coffee than the comics so I stopped in to the cafe while my husband perused everything. I got the Golden Caramel Latte, and it was extra delicious - not too sweet but still a little hint of the caramel to give you that sweet taste. My husband wanted to get a drink that was chocolatey, but without coffee. I asked the barista at the coffee shop if they had anything like that, and he actually made me something special on the spot. It was a frozen chocolate milk, and my husband went wild for it. I don't think it's on the menu, and was made impromptu, but you may be able to ask for that, if you want to try! There is a lot of seating at the cafe and also around the comic shop, including little benches, if you want to sit and pore over your potential purchases or if you're waiting for someone to finish shopping. Even though we spent way too much money here, I definitely recommend it if you're a comic collector/lover, as they have so many things to explore (both in comics and coffee) and you may find something new you love!

First off it's a big space that houses 30,000 lps in a massive collection that is growing by the day, 2nd there are many turntables and sound systems all set up like little rooms! Including a sound system that cost around 80,000 dollars! When we got there we were greeted, given a tour, and told we could play any LP in the place even if it was sealed we could open it and play it.. I gave my pals the option for them to pick something, but them being the sweetest they let me give it a go! Naturally I found Procal Harum's, "Whiter Shade of Pale," reissue! It's my second favorite song ever and this reissue had multiple versions including a full length instrumental version I have never heard! I also got to hear it on an 80,000 stereo, and lets just say... I was blown away! Then I got to listen to the album I just put out of my own band on the same stereo, while drinking a beer and having some music fans listen along! This was kinda awkward for me, but in the best way.. Emotions get all to real! This is going to be a place where musicians and industry type folk can get together and play records, talk about records, have a beer, and enjoy the music! Hi Fi house is also doing school programs to help the kids get inspired to become the musicians and industry type folk who will fill the Hi Fi Houses for years to come! Omaha has the flagship store, but their will be Hi Fi Houses popping up around the world in the coming years, with a curated vinyl catalog that can travel, much like museums! This is an amazing, mind blowing experience for a music fan and I hope a Hi Fi House can make Des Moines home at some point!

Yes please.) There are vintage clothes, cool posters, sports memorabilia, and nostalgic toys. There's even a little area where a vintage style TV is playing old movies. My favorite part of the store was that there was a SHOP KITTY! She was so adorable and I'm guessing sweet (she slept and purred the entire time we were there, so she's at least chill with strangers anyway). Every corner and end of this shop is packed to the gills with neat things, so you'll for sure find at least one thing you have to have. We definitely did (an interactive Iron Man helmet LOL). Before you head into the center of Benson, definitely make a stop at this shop to check out their awesome wares!

It is only open a handful of hours per week, so certainly check their Facebook page! Once you catch them on their open days, it is certainly worth it! It is such a small book store that each book in there has a reason, as it says in their bio! There is a section for each type of reader, small and older! Even though the bookstore isn't large, I find myself browsing for a very long time at each and every section of the store! There is definitely something for every one!
