This store started strong and helped get my son and I into playing the cards we were collecting, so…read moreI will always stop in and look around when we're in the area. However, it's just not it anymore. Our trades got worse and worse to the point where we stopped bringing cards up if they weren't atleast $50 and we had something close to it we wanted to pay the difference on. The value box that sat on the counter starting shifting away from cheap stuff to being full of 5 dollar and up cards. It's not fun to do the work of looking for stuff you want and then have to pay full sticker price on top of it. Takes away the impulse buys and feels less exciting.

Unfortunately, my experience with this shop has become increasing disappointing. There are several…read moreissues that make it difficult to reccomend this place to regular players. The customer service and management need significant improvement. Players have dealt with rude behavior, poor communication, disappointing prizing, and an environment that can be extremely loud and overstimulating. Smoking in the shop also makes the experience unpleasant for people who are simply trying to enjoy their games. The tournament organization is another major problem. Pokémon events, in particular, have lacked basic organization, including appropriate timers. When people are spending their time and money participating in competitive events, they should be able to expect tournaments to be run properly and consistently. The biggest issue is that these concerns don't seem to be taken seriously. Instead of creating an environment where players feel welcome and valued, the overall experience has become frustrating enough that many regular players are considering taking their business elsewhere. A local card shop depends heavily on its community. Pokémon players, Magic players, and other customers should all be able to enjoy the shop without feeling like their concerns are being ignored. At this point, I believe the owners need to seriously evaluate the current management of the store, specifically the management of Kris Spicer. The owners should tale a serious look at how the store is being run, address the ongoing concerns about customer service and tournament organization, and actually listen to the regular players who support the business. There is a lot of potential here, but the current management and overall experience are making it increasingly difficult to support the shop.

They have TONS of cards, and also tons of Heroclix and other tabletop games, as well as a huge selection of retro and current-gen video games and movies! The first time I went into this store, I was blown away. They literally have a an entire quarter if their (really big) store dedicated to dealing in Magic. The display for buying single cards is great. As a new player, I was able to browse cards and get an idea for prices on them. They have some old fat packs and duel decks for the collector, too! As you turn around from the Magic, they have three large aisles of tabletop games and supplies for tabletop gaming and deck building games. Best selection of sleeves, cases, and playmats I've seen in a single store. Again, wow. Then come around and there are more Heroclix than I've ever seen in a single location. Not something I'm particularly into, but great for someone who is. My favorite is the retro game wall. I didn't find anything to purchase on my visit, but they do have a great selection with very comparable prices. They have a really large area for tournaments and casual play, and the parking lot is HUGE so there is plenty of room to park. The staff was really nice and made sure I was able to see anything in the cases I was interested in, and let me know about all their upcoming events and specials. They weren't pushy at all - just generally nice and knowledgable. This is a MUST on every trip to Ohio for me!

Mike…read moreWills patiently guided me down that path, answering my questions as to what coins were available, pre-1933 vs modern US bullion, gold spot pricing, how premiums work, etc. He let me take my time browsing through the store's available stock of 1/4 oz American Gold Eagles until I found the right one. All throughout the process, he was as friendly as he was knowledgeable. It felt less like a customer & store owner discussing coin purchase options and more like two friends chatting about coins in general. All the above says a lot because I've been exploring this purchase option back in my home state (California), and it never went through because I've never found one store where it's employee was willing to go through this process of helping me feel like had made the right choice. It was Mike all the way here in Ohio that made it happen. Glad I was passing through. Thanks again, Mike! You've got a great business there! I'll make it a point to stop by when I'm in the area again!
