Why would you tell somebody to drive an hour one way if you're not going to sell them that video game. Who ever he was. He was rude and nasty about it. If you want to pay for over priced games. BEWARE A STORE POLICY! If items do not work they will NOT give you a full refund. Either they will give 50% refund back or only store credit. This is their store policy set by the owners! I have bought multiple Xbox 360's from this store and so far NONE of them have worked properly. For example one had a red ring of death, and another would crash upon plugging in a headphone to listen through. The controller would also stop working upon something else being plugged into the system. BEWARE THE XBOX 360's DO NOT COME WITH THEIR HARD DRIVES! This makes it even worse! DO NOT go for the classic consoles. While them not working wouldn't be so bad if their store policy wasn't absolute TRASH. It traps you in an endless loop of going back to the store and trying to find a console that actually works. read more

One of my favorite stores to go video game shopping. Staff is very friendly, prices are very fair with a huge selection spanning many generations of gaming. Their reward system is simple but very effective at making you wanna shop there. I've been gaming since the late 1990's, and I've seen a lot of local gaming stores come and go. So I was pleased when I found this place, but their policies make me hesitant to go there again. The sign posted on their door plainly says "NO CASH REFUNDS" which is typical for these type of stores. So that didn't bother me at all. But to be safe I read in detail the posting on the door. It indicated a 15-day return policy of a store credit. But, what the sign failed to mention (and the also staff failed to mention) was the full store credit is only for defective items. Any other returns ONLY GET A 50% STORE CREDIT. So if you decide to try a game, take it home for a couple hours and realize you just don't like the game (despite checking reviews first), then you take a 50% hit to return it, or you're stuck with a game you'll likely never play. At the register before checkout I asked about their return policy, they said (and I quote), "Store credit." To confirm I asked, "So if I get these and I don't like them, then I can return them for a store credit?", and the person waiting on me said, "Yes". So I proceeded with my $50 purchase of 3 games. No mention whatsoever that the 100% store credit is only for defective merchandise and any other return is only 50% store credit. Kind of a big detail to CONVENIENTLY leave out right as the customer is about to buy. I totally get it if I take a game home and keep it overnight, then a 50% store credit is reasonable. It's not unheard of for childish gamers to buy a game, do an all-night marathon gaming session, complete the game, and then return it a day or two later. So I get the need for the 50% store credit return policy on games returned days later. But I returning my games only 3 hours after purchasing. There's absolutely no way I could complete three PS2 games in 3 hours. The owner's son argued with me for over 15 minutes. Ridiculous. If I'd spent like $5, then sure I would've let it pass. But not for a $50 purchase (i.e. $25 hit). I hope the $50 was worth to him. I never plan to frequent this shop again. ******************************************************************************** The owner responded below to my review, and below is my follow up to his response. My complaint is not with the policy. A merchant is free to define any policies he/she chooses. Rather my issue is with the lack of transparency. As stated in my original review, neither the sign on the door nor the staff at time of purchase explained the 50% store credit policy. This deceptiveness is what prompted the 1-star review. Great selection of games and older hardware. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I love having this place near me.

My 16-year old purchased a used DS in the store today. He saw that it was damaged when he got in his car. He immediately went back into the store to return it. The workers would not refund his money. So I called the store when he got home and offered to bring it back and they could refund his card. They refused, and now we have to dispute it on his credit card. This place takes advantage of kids. Shame on them. I would give 0 stars if I could. The lighting in the store is garbage. He noticed the defect in the sunlight once he got to the car. Not to mention that the box has a different serial number than the DS. They just took a box and put a DS in it. THe DS wasn't in great condition. read more

Just out of sheer curiosity, I stopped in while on a recent visit to the Cincinnati area. I've been a video game player for over thirty years, so it's nice to see an independently owned used game store. Their selection was generous, covering game systems dating back to the late 1970s. The prices were also very competitive, and often lower than average eBay prices. The two employees there during my visit were helpful and friendly. Honestly, I have no complaints. The next time I come to Cincinnati, I'll stop by again. read more

This store is a scam. Not even 72 hours after my son bought a Gameboy SP system, he tried to return it due to the screen not being bright. The day my son purchased the Gameboy system, the owner told me and my son he had 15 days to return the system if he wasn't satisfied. When we confronted the owner, he made it clear he did not want any confrontation and made his employees talk to us. They informed us that they only except returns if it doesn't work and that policy is printed on the receipt. They also said they usually do not tell customers that before they purchase because it's "too much to explain" and the "receipt explains the policy anyways". I would like to note that this policy isn't posted anywhere except for the receipt, after the purchase is made. Needless to say, we will not be doing business here again. I would rather go to Game Swap in Florence Mall or Trader's World then deal with these shady antics of business. Buyer Beware... read more

Used to shop a lot but lady at front counter is very very rude awful customer service nasty attitude and chargers double to triple the price on used items more for what they would cost brand new ! Possibly will return when she is no longer employed there read more
