Neighbor Books was laid out kind of interesting for me. The way it is designed it gave me a feeling of a rather limited selection of titles, but maybe it was just an illusion. This place is a community hub with great energy for sure. It was neat to see neighbors seeing each other and catching up. My only complaint about the place is that while I was there, there were several kids rambunctiously running up and down the stairs. That's not necessarily Neighbor's "fault" but it is a bit alarming and does affect the ambiance of the place.

It screamed vintage Christmas to me as I stood in this beautiful bookstore. I had to find the children's area, and it was charming! A fake fireplace was designed just for the holidays, and so many diverse books were displayed for children and adults. There were so many great choices! And once you stop and really look at the store, you see the beauty it has to offer. Gorgeous old stairs cases take you up to the second floor that circled around the building and it was designed for readers. How thoughtful! Yes, the whole experience was appreciated. In party day I got a text about 30 minutes before they would be late to the party because they were having generator issues. Ok, no problem, I understand machines can break, so I said what time do you think you will be here? I do have to entertain kids at a party after all. Once again no response. Finally I hear back they aren't going to make it because they got a new generator but the driver of the van left with the keys. I'm not sure who runs this company, but I'd guess no one is really "running" it. They offered to make it up to me some how, but after asking a way for them to do that, no response again. I'm mostly shopping PS5, Switch, Switch 2, and some retro, and to their credit, this location is actually pretty well stocked. Good game selection, and I appreciate that the store isn't 70 percent Funko Pops. The collectibles are there, but they don't dominate the entire wall, which is refreshing. The employees do know games, which I appreciate, but interactions here can be hot or cold. Once it becomes clear that I also know what I'm talking about, the energy sometimes shifts and it can get weirdly intense. Not rude, just awkward, especially when you're ready to leave and the conversation doesn't seem to want to end. Trade-in values were surprisingly reasonable the last time I brought something in, though I rarely trade these days. Pricing otherwise is... GameStop. Used games usually feel a little optimistic unless there's a sale happening. It's not THAT bad, which is why it lands at three stars. It's convenient, the inventory is solid, and sometimes it's exactly what you need. Just don't expect a relaxed, browse-and-bounce experience every time. I just purchased a PS4 online and was not able to get a warranty- these guys hooked me up without any issues and handled all the paperwork inside so I didn't have come in. I don't know if curbside will change permanent ways in which we shop... but it has been pretty cool to just order online, meet me at the door and grab my stuff and go! This is an introverts shopping paradise! I have been coming to this location for years- manager here is great and the events (Madden and 2k) they hold at this location are always smooth and orderly. This location actually holds on to good employees- so there is minimal turn over, so ends that their customer service recognizes their good returning customers. Hope this point survives as it's convenient to have it in little elm instead of driving to large shopping areas.

When they have hardly any staff you may end up with a customer that gets all the employees attention. and you may actually wait 20-30minutes hearing "ill be with you when i can". if it takes 30min to help the customer ahead of me than you need more staff. there tends to be a back up of customers needing help finding something and getting through check out. Not a fan either of the constant leaning around racks and following to keep an eye on people who you worry may steal...? Ive been watched intently multiple times. maybe because i wear a small backpack that doubles as a diaper bag instead of a purse. But again. if you are so worried about theft then hire more people to help customers and watch them. Decent selection of games. very expensive. merch is extremely expensive.

I've been told the books I want to sell them are junk/garbage - yet they were purchased there for a lot more than the offer. The latest - ordered two booms that were not in stock locally only because the estimated receive by date was over the weekend. Today (Monday) I received notification my order was ready - drove over an hour to find it was not all there (my fault as I should have read the LATE email closer). The person checking me out questioned if I had paid, said "sounds about right" when I asked about the books not being there over the weekend. When I get notified of the 2nd book arriving I will once again make an hour drive to get it, then I will either go to other noon stores or go to the flagship store in Dallas.
