He helped me get a good start to my collection and brought me up to speed on everything. I was very happy with the products he recommended and I have become a regular customer. I was trying to create some conversation about the game and the different new releases, but I felt he was dismissive. I asked about the gaming community and didn't get much feedback. The store was clean and in good shape, but wasn't impressed with their tables or display. They do have a Smaug on display that should be entered in the Golden Demon. Very impressive. I said this to the salesman, but (yet again) was dismissed. He actually smirked as if the artist wasn't good enough. Overall- not impressed. The salesman should be building up the art and gaming community, not dismissing it. Also should be promoting those that show talent and not holding them back.

They host a wide range of events like cosplay nights, tabletop and card tournaments, and other themed gatherings that keep the place feeling lively and fun. There's always energy in the room, and plenty of vendors and merchandise to browse, no matter what you're into -- cards, collectibles, figures, games, you name it. My only real critique is the space. When it's busy (which it often is during events), it can feel a little cramped. A bigger venue would take this place to the next level. That said, the atmosphere, the variety of vendors, and the consistency of their events more than make up for it. If you're into collectibles, gaming culture, or just want something different to do locally, this place is worth checking out.

There were 3 booths with older game consoles and games for sale; the rest of the booths had Pokémon cards. Should've labeled the event as Poke cards with a side of random games. Second of all, booth size and closure. Half of the booths were closed. I went on Saturday at 1 pm. The size of the vendors' booths is terrible, so the moment a group of two enters the booth, you won't see a dang thing that you actually want to look at. The exit and entrance are also the same route, so most booths have a terrible bottleneck if you are walking into them. Third, the odor. They had TVs set up for people to play against one another and also play some single-player games. Some of the individuals crowding this area were the most foul-smelling to graze this earth. You would think the last time they showered was when it rained. I can't get mad at the business for this cause it's their clientele, but it did not help the terrible experience in any fashion.

As a…read morekid with no allowance and little concept of finances, the thought of being able to exchange old games and receive new ones was tantalizing. My older brother and I convinced our mom to take us to the SWAP USA store in Roswell one day. We put our Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, PS1, Xbox, all games, and all controllers in garbage bags and went to the store. We aimed to exchange our old stuff to get new games for our latest console, PS2. I remember dumping out all of our stuff and the store clerks calculating how much store credit we could receive for it all. Turned out we were able to obtain something like 2 PS1 games and 2 PS2 games, I believe. We thought we were getting a great deal because we weren't playing the old stuff that much anymore and had moved on to ROMS and emulators mostly. My mom did ask my brother before we did it if he was sure he wanted to exchange everything. He nodded his head. I try not to blame my mom for allowing us to go through with it (of course if I were in her shoes, I would've just bought the new games and said keep all your stuff) but maybe I'm wrong and don't have or remember all of the facts. Anyway, SWAP USA is a business, so I understand that the store clerks wouldn't try to dissuade us kids from making a bad deal for ourselves. But still. Come on. In the end, we got scammed. I wish I could go back in time and get our stuff back. Those video games and systems from the 90s..a lot are worth good money today. But it's missing out on the nostalgia and sentimental value of having such great relics around that hurts the most. I do wonder where all of our stuff ended up. Will never know. Anyway, thought I'd share my experience after 20+ years, perhaps in hopes of easing the pain somewhat.

The storefront faces Sidney Marcus. I was able to pick up a Nintendo Switch and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at this store on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. Both the Switch and the new Zelda game launched worldwide on March 3, 2017. Like the Wii in 2006 and the NES Classic Edition last year, the Switch has been in high demand and very hard to find in stores. The console is currently selling for upwards of $450 through online resellers. I refuse to pay a premium for in-production consoles and was happy to fork over $299.99 (MSRP) for the Switch at this store in addition to $59.99 for Zelda. Apparently, on March 22nd, select GameStop stores received one shipment of five Switch consoles. This store was one of them. Many, if not all, of these stores sold out of their allotments within minutes of opening on the 22nd. One of my friends was able to find a Switch the following weekend at a metro Atlanta Toys"R"Us. That store received a shipment of 10. Hopefully, they are getting easier to find. Nintendo really should stop this pattern of supply shortages. GameStop has a rewards program called PowerUp Rewards. Unfortunately, I don't shop enough at GameStop for it to have any benefits for me. They have both a basic membership that is free and a premium "pro" membership that costs money ($14.99 a year). You can sign up in-store. A huge thank you to store leader Taneka B, whom I mentioned in my previous review over four years ago (below), as well as to Devan for selling me the Switch and Zelda (and taking my nerdy picture). Sorry, I couldn't contain my excitement!

Barnes & Noble has been a staple in my world for so many years, it's always great to see them up and in action and books finding their way into new homes. After a date night out, my partner decided we go to Barnes & Noble to grab some books for our son. What a perfect way to end a date night, imo! This B&N is located in a huge plaza in Buckhead, meaning that there's tons of parking available. There is a Starbucks attached to this location, it's small but there seemed to be some seating. This location is one of the smaller B&Ns that I've seen but they made great use of the space. We started in the children's section of course and they made it such a cute space for little ones! They had a little stage setup along with a bench for seating and extra space for the babes beyond that. The shelves were lined with books of all kind, and even housed some cute stuffed characters from the pages of those exact books. I loved it! There was a wide array of books for children of all ages and a variety of topics. I loved that there was a special section highlighting Black history and culture, as well as a section with books all centered around Georgia! I grabbed a book from each section for our little ATL baby. The bookstore was so clean and so organized, I didn't see a thing out of place. I just wish there was more seating!! I guess they don't want folks getting comfy and reading all the merchandise before they walk out lol. We did find seats near the 'gifts' section which allowed us to go through what we picked up to see what we'd leave with. We ended up with 4 children's books, 1 new book for me and a learning toy for $100. Not too crazy!
