Awesome place and great energy! Always the spot to hit to order pokemon and the new upcoming games... You can reserve new upcoming games and things in advance here which I love. The lines get long sometimes, but always worth coming to this spot for gaming needs! Lots of parking! Lots of places to eat and shop around in the mall! Always a stop for me and my kids!! Definitely recommend stopping here. read more

Service- 2 stars Ambiance- 3 stars I'm not sure if the service at this location was mediocre because the sales associates are close to high school age? I wanted to give them a higher rating but felt like I was kind of on my own to find a game. I walked out with the wrong game because the sales associates didn't even ask what type of console I have. I dont know but I would choose a different store to get gaming things from now on. Not really worth the trip to the mall. read more

Do not get your cards graded at Gamestop, a friend of mine brought in a Red Manga Luffy card that is worth about 9k in to get graded and suprise suprise the card went missing before it got mailed (or so they say). Then, Gamestop would only pay him 500 for the missing card and would not do anything about it afterwards. You can't tell me that this wasn't suspicious at all. I wouldn't trust those people at all, save yourself the time and headaches...don't do buisness with them. read more

If you buy pokeman cards, check your packs before you leave the store. They sold my son and daughter 3 "ripped" packs, and gave us a hard time about replacing or getting a refund. They supposedly grab it from the box that is behind the counter, and not the ones hanging up. Manager gave us grief when trying to get a refund or a replacement, and made it seem that they were trying to scam them After finally being able to get the 3 replaced, he told my son he had to open it in front of him. For what? My understanding is that the manager is also into pokeman cards, as we did business with him 2 previous times. Whose not to say the packs were opened while in their possession??? As a retail store, don't you check your inventory before selling them, knowing that these cards are in high demand and are known for people to sell ripped packs that are missing cards? read more

Wow! So I took the bus to get a new copy of a switch game. I was told ahead of time they had a new copy of it. When I got there boy oh boy! They gave me a copy from the display. I regret not going to Best Buy because last week, Best Buy had 7 sealed copies of the same game. I would like to add the store is very messy! I tripped over one of those boxes on the ground. Who is the area manager? You let this fly? Safety issues for the customers and selling me an opened copy and sold it as new? Anyways my real review score for this place is -100000000000000/5. Sorry but if you sold me a legit new copy and watched out for my safety I would have given it a better review. read more

Sorry, I didn't give you a super high score because the cost of your merchandise was like TOTALLY HIGH! Ultimately, I expected to pay anywhere from $80-$90, including tax & rounding to the highest dollar. But I ended up paying a bit more than that. However, I added on the membership to my total & with THAT discount, that's how I paid a few dollars over. So, I guess it did work out for the better in the long run. Not only do we get coupons and discounts and sale bargains throughout the year as a member, but we got a few items that one of my sons would really like and wanted for Christmas. So in a way, I worked out for us. So as I said... I didn't go 4 or 5 stars because it is expensive to shop in here but, it's also worth it if your child is a game stop NEEDY. lol! And who said MONEY CANT BUY HAPPINESS, HUH?! I know MY son's GONNA BE hella-happy & ALL SMILES THIS HOLIDAY. Hehehehe... So YEAH... if you have the cash at the time to buy the stuffs you or your kid(s) need, then SURE go and get it! Especially the GS membership! It'll save you money in the long run when you shop at Game Stop a few more times. MORE when you have the coupons at hand. I'll try to be back and add the membership benefits. You probably COULD see it on the site itself, but sometimes, it's much better to hear another PERSON telling you instead of the company, right?! lol! I was just checking out new places and popped in Game Stop. I haven't played video games in a long time, so I thought I'd pop on to see what they have. I didn't really see a large selection of gaming consoles, but they had a fair amount of games. I see that they buy used gaming consoles and games, so don't throw away your old equipment. It might be worth something. They refurbish and rebox the used ones and sell them in the store. I did see a good selection of Funko Pops, so if that's what you're in to, check them out. I didn't get inspired enough to get back into gaming, but I did see a bunch of kids excited to be there. read more

Stopped in the purchase 1 or 2 Nintendo Switch games for our grandson for his birthday. (Purchased 2 games) He chose what he wanted and we checked out. Ok, he's a happy little boy, until we get home. We watched the cashier pull the games from the drawer behind the counter & handed the games to us with the receipt. When we got home one was empty (no game inside!) called the store, person at game stop on the phone said they gave us the floor cover in error. GameStop has repeatedly made errors that have resulted in financial loss for me. For example, I renewed my GameStop Pro membership through an employee, yet GameStop claims that I never renewed it and refuses to reinstate my previous membership. They did mention, however, that I could start a new membership, but all the points and funds I have accumulated over the past 15-20 years would be forfeited. In my view, they are responsible for the mistake and should correct it. Since they are unwilling to do so, I consider this to be a form of theft. The money in my account was earned through consistent payments for their membership, and they are deliberately withholding it from me. Furthermore, the quality of customer service and support has significantly declined over the past five years. For instance, they used to notify customers via an automated system when a new game arrived. This service has been discontinued, and if you do not collect your game promptly, it will be resold. On one occasion, I had to wait a month for a game I had already paid for to be restocked because they sold the copy they were holding for me. It is evident that GameStop prioritizes profits over customer satisfaction. read more

Hubby likes coming here to buy his Nintendo switch games. We have purchased games here before. Sometimes they have items on clearance. Today, it seemed as if they didn't have too much. I did see a Hello Kitty item but it was $14.99. Not sure if I would buy it at that price but it was cute. The store was clean and seems like a lot of people come here to check out their items. We didn't buy anything from here but maybe next time. Located inside the mall. I think the limit is 10 people inside. Plenty of space to move around. "Can we just take a look?" were the last words I heard before handing my card over for yet *another* Play Station or Xbox purchase, amiriiiiteeee aunts and uncles? HAHAHA The staff here take confused and run-on questions from blossoming elementary grade kids and middle schoolers awesomely! Theyre very polite and dont mind scanning an item for a price (even if its a few dozen times), they also are really nice about allowing kids to count their monies and even accepting the wrong amount of cash (which was corrected btw) to be polite. Very kid-friendly, but also expensive. Of course the newest releases are top dollar but used or pre-owned items and games are decently priced. They also have amazing clearance (which goes fast) if youre into certain shows or characters. They always have a range of merchandise available in-store. Purchase online and get it shipped here as well for free shipping. Dont forget that rewards card number! Points accumulated can be used for discounts or merchandise! 3 stars for their trade-in program value which sucks lol. With mom and pops hobby shops falling victim to the state of things due to the pandemic, a lot of us toy collectors and game enthusiasts are getting really limited in where we can go. Luckily for us, GameStop has always been one of the foremost authorities when it came to video game sales from back when it was Software Etc. But it also has figured out the niche market of toy collecting and has now given collectors a way out of toy hunting to find the figure they so desire by offering the ability to pre-order. With so much information at your fingertips nowadays, there's seldom a toy release that happens that you didn't know about prior. If it's something that you treasure that much that you want to make a financial commitment to it (albeit, it is usually just $5 to lock your item in) then you no longer have to wonder if you'll ever find the figure you want or have to worry about being scalped by these crazy reseller prices. Most GameStops have done an amazing job of adjusting their layouts to allow for more space in their stores so guests have their due six feet. They also control capacities to eight at a time for now, which again, allows for the safe distance. I can't remember when it started but it was a few years back now, but I really feel like they've done their best to focus on the guest experience. The customer service (more times than not) is great to exceptional, and if they don't have something in stock at their site, they do their best to see if any other shops on the island might have what you're looking for. I will say that the biggest knock is that things are slightly pricier at GameStop (Star Wars Black Series retail: $19.99 at GameStop is $22.99) but given all of the other high points, the 3 point mark up is understandable and a small price to pay for dependability and also, the spontaneity of actually finding your piece "in the wild"! All in all, I am a regular GameStop visitor. I rarely get to go to the one at Pearl Ridge, but when I do they are more times than not, really, REALLY cordial, friendly and inviting. I love their staff, including the gentleman with the glasses! I feel so bad that I don't remember his name but the next time I go in, I'll just take a picture with him and post it on my Yelp check-in! A very good staff as is the majority of their staff. Whatever you guys are doing internally GameStop, keep it up! It is not going unnoticed and we, the collecting community, truly thank you. read more

I have been a major gamer since elementary days! Literally started from the bottom... not sure if I'm here, but I'm definitely still living for it! From PC, Gameboys, to classic Nintendo, every single PlayStation there is (even the PSP), Sega, etc... all except XBox. Sorry Microsoft, that's the one thing you get an "N" for. But seriously, how could I not love this store? Oh ya, the docked star is definitely for some of the prices... other than that, I'm there for it all. New and used items, is a win. Being able to bring in used items and get either credit or cash is a win. Having merch that go with the games we love to play is win, win, and win. As much as I turn to Amazon for most of life's wants and needs, I actually would rather not wait for my gaming items to be shipped. Guess that's my priorities... needs for gaming things trumps the $$ it costs for convenience. Now that we finally haveth a Nintendo Switch, it's gone above and beyond geeking and tweaking out on gaming everythings. By golly does Game Stop really take care of us in this department! Anyone I encounter in this store has been super helpful. Doesn't matter if I'm looking for something specific, or really just roaming around and can't make up my mind. I don't always walk out with something, but I always wish I had gotten something! read more

This was a year ago. I was shopping for myself and was looking for a certain game called Fatal Frame ll and there was a worker called Genevieve and she helped me out. She said that there weren't any games at the moment and also told me that she could check the other stores nearby for me. I was pleased with the service she gave me. She also followed up with follow up questions in regards to my needs and I was telling her that there is a new Pokemon game that is coming out and would like to reserve a game for myself when it comes out and she quickly rang me up near the computer. This was my first time at gamestop so she told me about the rewards club and how it works and so I signed up. Trough my whole stay here I really liked the genuine service that Genevieve had gave me. I'll be sure to come back again soon. Overall: Quality service, Friendly Staff, Can get pretty crazy inside the store. read more

Just want to thank Leighton our cashier for being so awesome and being a mind reader :) He rang us up and based on our selection immediately knew we were looking for 2 player games, which is actually difficult to find now days. He recommended and gave us a description of two new games that game out and looked up if it was in the store. Great customer service and knowledgeable! I really appreciate that type of interaction at that store as I am not a gamer and am pretty clueless about new games etc. Earlier we asked someone on the floor for help but it did not not seem like they were experienced in that particular system/games as we got no suggestions and ended up choosing from Google. Very happy we came to this location today. read more

This is my backup Gamestop. I usually just head to the International Market Place usually cause its closer but the store just seems smaller and the mall is pretty busy. So sometimes I can't always find what I want there so I head to Pearl City. The mall itself is pretty busy but they usually seem to have a bigger inventory. So for newer titles I always end up here. Maybe I should head here first but its triple the commute time. Good thing they have their system on the website to check the inventory and hold on the store. read more

The only times I every come in here is with my brother or boyfriend. This time it was with Jeremy (boyfriend)... He's shopping for his little brother's birthday present. XBox, Minecraft game and another controller. We first started looking for the game... It took a while before we found the cover. Cost about $20. I guess that's cheap compared to other high res games or whatever. Then the console itself. You don't need to bring the box up to the front, just tell the cashier, ha-ha. The 4GB was an estimate $200? Lastly, since the controllers that were out on the shelves were the rock candy light up ones or chrome, he got the wired one. I mean it's only for that one game. My children love to come here. In fact, they ask to come here several times a week, or send me on my lunch break to pick something up for them. The staff here is great. One exceptional employee, Joel, is a very valuable asset to this company. My middle child, who is an enthusiastic gamer, asked me to purchase a popular PS Vita game he has been waiting for. When I went to the store, I was delighted to see the box on the shelf for the game my son wanted. I took it to the cashiers to buy, but I was told it was sold out. Joel started to call other locations to see if they had the game in stock. He was able to locate one, and instead of me driving down to the Kunia location (he asked me where I lived first), he offered to pick up a copy for me and bring it in. I got a call from him the next day letting me know he brought in the game and I could pick it up anytime. This has been an exceptional experience for me. I wish everyone in the sales business could be as courteous as Joel. He didn't have to go out of his way and drive so far to pick an item up, but he did. He was also very friendly and even apologized for being out of stock in the first place. I hope a manager gets to read this review and give Joel a big pat on the back for representing! read more

Ok I love GameStop but I absolutely refuse to shop uncomfortably. Please fix your air conditioning. There is absolutely no reason enough for loyal patrons to have to deal with low or no air in a enclosed mall. I almost turned around and walked right out and I'm certain I'm not the only one because I overheard another customer talking about the heat in the store. Your poor employees must absolutely hate it as you could see their perspiration. Stop making excuses and get it done and be the change you want to see. After all your staff and loyal customers are watching. Until then I will be taking my business to Pearl highlands where I can shop comfortably and the staff don't have to put on a fake smile because they are truly happy in the environment. *UPDATE: After learning there was a new a/c I stopped by to do some shopping. Gamestop Pearlridge located on Macy's side of the mall, right next to Children's Place. Went in here because I promised my son that we'd stop by inside to look, since he was so good while I was shopping at another store. He only wanted to buy one of those blind bags (but in this case, a blind ball) and stood in line. There were only two workers running the whole store on a Sunday night. One employee working the register, and the other one assisting someone on the phone as well as customers in the store, when she wasn't on the phone. Standing in line....two customers ahead of me. Then while she was finishing up the customer that was ahead of me, I see a lady stand behind that customer, who was at the register. She looked my way, and nothing. When that customer was done, the worker went ahead and helped that lady, without even acknowledging the line at all. Helping the lady took about 10 mins...then the worker at the register went in the back, and the lady stepped aside.....then another customer went ahead. Worker came back, never acknowledged the line again, but proceeded to assist the lady, then the other guy right after. And more people started to line up behind that person at the register. Finally, the other worker was nearby the line and my husband asked her if that was the line, because he could tell how frustrated I was and knew I was ready to walk out. She did apologize and helped me at her register right away. She then looked at everyone else who was standing behind the other register and told them that they have a line and pointed to where it was supposed to start. I explained to that worker that the other employee didn't even bother to look at the line when other people was going up to her. She should've looked to see if anyone was already standing in line and if there was, let them know there is a line. Why have any signs up and not even follow them? Such a frustrating moment when all we bought was a blind bag/ball for my son. I was kinda irritated with the fact that the employee who DID help us try to talk to me into upgrading my membership with them. After that, do you think I want to upgrade my membership with you folks? NO THANK YOU, I'll be sticking the Gamestop that I frequent at! read more

It's been a long time since I was really into gaming, I'm definitely more of a casual fan now. Because of this waning interest, I hadn't been in a GameStop in a while. I was in just browsing the other night and was pleasantly surprised to see they also started stocking collectibles and toys (things I never grew out of)! They also had many on clearance or at least normal prices. The store was clean, great selection of games for newer users. This location is on the small side, but still ample room for merchandise. I noticed it wasn't as well stocked as locations in town. Despite this, the staff was equally friendly and as helpful as elsewhere. Sure, I left these guys a great review last time but the staff here is really starting to get on my nerves. I understand the fact that you push the sale for commission, etc. I get that. Though every time I come here, I always feel "pressured" into reserving a game. This has been happening for some months now. In fact, sometimes they gang up on me. Sounds stupid but really, yes, but it's f***ing annoying. Usually, I politely but bluntly I make it clear that I'm here for either a certain pick-up or perhaps for a trade in. A "No Thanks", intentionally cutting them off so I can take my sh*t and go. But they always persist in pushing the sale. I am not a fan of this aggressive style of retail. Sometimes, they even follow me around the store, almost forcing me into buying something. To be quite honest, I felt like patronizing some of these guys to their face so they leave me alone, but since I'm a regular, I usually refrain. Though trust me, despite my polite ways, I can be a total pr*ck to people that annoy the crap out of me. Sadly, it's to where I may have to starting going out my way to other locations to get my game fix. Like I mentioned last time, the only reason why I go to this store is the convenient in and out of mall/store configuration from the parking lot. I also hate how they try to talk to me in fake pidgin to make me feel comfortable. It just makes them look cheesy..."brah". :B 2 Stars for September 2011 GameStop Pearlridge Uptown. read more
