Hubby likes coming here to buy his Nintendo switch games. We have purchased games here before. Sometimes they have items on clearance. Today, it seemed as if they didn't have too much. I did see a Hello Kitty item but it was $14.99. Not sure if I would buy it at that price but it was cute. The store was clean and seems like a lot of people come here to check out their items. Ultimately, I expected to pay anywhere from $80-$90, including tax & rounding to the highest dollar. But I ended up paying a bit more than that. However, I added on the membership to my total & with THAT discount, that's how I paid a few dollars over. So, I guess it did work out for the better in the long run. Not only do we get coupons and discounts and sale bargains throughout the year as a member, but we got a few items that one of my sons would really like and wanted for Christmas. For example, I renewed my GameStop Pro membership through an employee, yet GameStop claims that I never renewed it and refuses to reinstate my previous membership. They did mention, however, that I could start a new membership, but all the points and funds I have accumulated over the past 15-20 years would be forfeited. In my view, they are responsible for the mistake and should correct it. Since they are unwilling to do so, I consider this to be a form of theft. The money in my account was earned through consistent payments for their membership, and they are deliberately withholding it from me. Furthermore, the quality of customer service and support has significantly declined over the past five years. For instance, they used to notify customers via an automated system when a new game arrived. This service has been discontinued, and if you do not collect your game promptly, it will be resold. On one occasion, I had to wait a month for a game I had already paid for to be restocked because they sold the copy they were holding for me. I was just checking out new places and popped in Game Stop. I haven't played video games in a long time, so I thought I'd pop on to see what they have. I didn't really see a large selection of gaming consoles, but they had a fair amount of games. I see that they buy used gaming consoles and games, so don't throw away your old equipment. It might be worth something. They refurbish and rebox the used ones and sell them in the store. I did see a good selection of Funko Pops, so if that's what you're in to, check them out. I didn't get inspired enough to get back into gaming, but I did see a bunch of kids excited to be there. read more

HAHAHA The staff here take confused and run-on questions from blossoming elementary grade kids and middle schoolers awesomely! With mom and pops hobby shops falling victim to the state of things due to the pandemic, a lot of us toy collectors and game enthusiasts are getting really limited in where we can go. Luckily for us, GameStop has always been one of the foremost authorities when it came to video game sales from back when it was Software Etc. But it also has figured out the niche market of toy collecting and has now given collectors a way out of toy hunting to find the figure they so desire by offering the ability to pre-order. With so much information at your fingertips nowadays, there's seldom a toy release that happens that you didn't know about prior. If it's something that you treasure that much that you want to make a financial commitment to it (albeit, it is usually just $5 to lock your item in) then you no longer have to wonder if you'll ever find the figure you want or have to worry about being scalped by these crazy reseller prices. Most GameStops have done an amazing job of adjusting their layouts to allow for more space in their stores so guests have their due six feet. They also control capacities to eight at a time for now, which again, allows for the safe distance. I can't remember when it started but it was a few years back now, but I really feel like they've done their best to focus on the guest experience. The customer service (more times than not) is great to exceptional, and if they don't have something in stock at their site, they do their best to see if any other shops on the island might have what you're looking for. I will say that the biggest knock is that things are slightly pricier at GameStop (Star Wars Black Series retail: $19.99 at GameStop is $22.99) but given all of the other high points, the 3 point mark up is understandable and a small price to pay for dependability and also, the spontaneity of actually finding your piece "in the wild"! All in all, I am a regular GameStop visitor. I rarely get to go to the one at Pearl Ridge, but when I do they are more times than not, really, REALLY cordial, friendly and inviting. I love their staff, including the gentleman with the glasses! I feel so bad that I don't remember his name but the next time I go in, I'll just take a picture with him and post it on my Yelp check-in! A very good staff as is the majority of their staff. I have been a major gamer since elementary days! Literally started from the bottom... not sure if I'm here, but I'm definitely still living for it! From PC, Gameboys, to classic Nintendo, every single PlayStation there is (even the PSP), Sega, etc... all except XBox. Sorry Microsoft, that's the one thing you get an "N" for. But seriously, how could I not love this store? Oh ya, the docked star is definitely for some of the prices... other than that, I'm there for it all. New and used items, is a win. Being able to bring in used items and get either credit or cash is a win. Having merch that go with the games we love to play is win, win, and win. As much as I turn to Amazon for most of life's wants and needs, I actually would rather not wait for my gaming items to be shipped. Guess that's my priorities... needs for gaming things trumps the $$ it costs for convenience. been to this location 3x since I have moved to the island, once to Schofield and once to Kapolei. This is the best one. two workers Travis and Tiffany were so funny and helpful. There were there everytime i was at pearl ridge. I felt like a valued customer unlike the other 2 locations. I will keep coming back here. This is my backup Gamestop. I usually just head to the International Market Place usually cause its closer but the store just seems smaller and the mall is pretty busy. So sometimes I can't always find what I want there so I head to Pearl City. The mall itself is pretty busy but they usually seem to have a bigger inventory. So for newer titles I always end up here. This was a year ago. I was shopping for myself and was looking for a certain game called Fatal Frame ll and there was a worker called Genevieve and she helped me out. She said that there weren't any games at the moment and also told me that she could check the other stores nearby for me. I was pleased with the service she gave me. She also followed up with follow up questions in regards to my needs and I was telling her that there is a new Pokemon game that is coming out and would like to reserve a game for myself when it comes out and she quickly rang me up near the computer. This was my first time at gamestop so she told me about the rewards club and how it works and so I signed up. Trough my whole stay here I really liked the genuine service that Genevieve had gave me. XBox, Minecraft game and another controller. We first started looking for the game... It took a while before we found the cover. Cost about $20. I guess that's cheap compared to other high res games or whatever. Then the console itself. You don't need to bring the box up to the front, just tell the cashier, ha-ha. I made a quick call to the store, and the worker (Layton, I believe) was able to take the time to see if it was available. Seeing that the game just shipped in, he gave me the details on how to get a copy and when and how it will be available. My children love to come here. In fact, they ask to come here several times a week, or send me on my lunch break to pick something up for them. The staff here is great. One exceptional employee, Joel, is a very valuable asset to this company. My middle child, who is an enthusiastic gamer, asked me to purchase a popular PS Vita game he has been waiting for. When I went to the store, I was delighted to see the box on the shelf for the game my son wanted. I took it to the cashiers to buy, but I was told it was sold out. Joel started to call other locations to see if they had the game in stock. He was able to locate one, and instead of me driving down to the Kunia location (he asked me where I lived first), he offered to pick up a copy for me and bring it in. I got a call from him the next day letting me know he brought in the game and I could pick it up anytime. This has been an exceptional experience for me. I wish everyone in the sales business could be as courteous as Joel. He didn't have to go out of his way and drive so far to pick an item up, but he did. He was also very friendly and even apologized for being out of stock in the first place. I hope a manager gets to read this review and give Joel a big pat on the back for representing! read more

Oh, how times do change. I remember when my mom would take me into GameStop when I was a kid, wide-eyed for Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Now it is I, coming into GameStop to buy my dad a game. This gamestop is decent. pretty good compared to the other gamestops i've experienced around the island good -usually have new games -pretty helpful service -decent used electronics ex. phones, mp3 players etc. bad -overpriced/expensive -used games save you.... five dollars usually... whomp i'm not the biggest fan of any gamestop. shop online, much better prices. if you're willing to wait a month or two you can get a ps4 game for thirty to forty bucks used whereas at gamestop they will often try to sell you a used game for five bucks off the original price. I got a PS4 as a gift and it came with Call of Duty. the game was sealed and only weeks old. i tried to get a trade in.. for tomb raider, assassins creed.... anything! but they said I had to open the game, then only get thirty bucks for it.. I look on their shelves and they are selling the game USED for like 54.99 -____- amazon, ebay here i come. read more

Ok I love GameStop but I absolutely refuse to shop uncomfortably. Please fix your air conditioning. There is absolutely no reason enough for loyal patrons to have to deal with low or no air in a enclosed mall. I almost turned around and walked right out and I'm certain I'm not the only one because I overheard another customer talking about the heat in the store. Your poor employees must absolutely hate it as you could see their perspiration. Stop making excuses and get it done and be the change you want to see. Gamestop Pearlridge located on Macy's side of the mall, right next to Children's Place. Went in here because I promised my son that we'd stop by inside to look, since he was so good while I was shopping at another store. He only wanted to buy one of those blind bags (but in this case, a blind ball) and stood in line. There were only two workers running the whole store on a Sunday night. One employee working the register, and the other one assisting someone on the phone as well as customers in the store, when she wasn't on the phone. Standing in line....two customers ahead of me. Then while she was finishing up the customer that was ahead of me, I see a lady stand behind that customer, who was at the register. She looked my way, and nothing. When that customer was done, the worker went ahead and helped that lady, without even acknowledging the line at all. Helping the lady took about 10 mins...then the worker at the register went in the back, and the lady stepped aside.....then another customer went ahead. Worker came back, never acknowledged the line again, but proceeded to assist the lady, then the other guy right after. And more people started to line up behind that person at the register. Finally, the other worker was nearby the line and my husband asked her if that was the line, because he could tell how frustrated I was and knew I was ready to walk out. She did apologize and helped me at her register right away. She then looked at everyone else who was standing behind the other register and told them that they have a line and pointed to where it was supposed to start. I explained to that worker that the other employee didn't even bother to look at the line when other people was going up to her. She should've looked to see if anyone was already standing in line and if there was, let them know there is a line. Why have any signs up and not even follow them? Such a frustrating moment when all we bought was a blind bag/ball for my son. I was kinda irritated with the fact that the employee who DID help us try to talk to me into upgrading my membership with them. I live in Mililani and there is a great GameStop right across the street from my favorite Thai spot...but this is the place I go to when I want to get all up in my video game zone. Trading and upgrading is such a breeze! Aaron and the rest of the staff know their stuff. Makes going through the whole trade in process simple and painless. It's been a long time since I was really into gaming, I'm definitely more of a casual fan now. Because of this waning interest, I hadn't been in a GameStop in a while. I was in just browsing the other night and was pleasantly surprised to see they also started stocking collectibles and toys (things I never grew out of)! They also had many on clearance or at least normal prices. The store was clean, great selection of games for newer users. This location is on the small side, but still ample room for merchandise. I noticed it wasn't as well stocked as locations in town. Despite this, the staff was equally friendly and as helpful as elsewhere. Sure, I left these guys a great review last time but the staff here is really starting to get on my nerves. I understand the fact that you push the sale for commission, etc. I get that. Though every time I come here, I always feel "pressured" into reserving a game. This has been happening for some months now. In fact, sometimes they gang up on me. Sounds stupid but really, yes, but it's f***ing annoying. Usually, I politely but bluntly I make it clear that I'm here for either a certain pick-up or perhaps for a trade in. A "No Thanks", intentionally cutting them off so I can take my sh*t and go. But they always persist in pushing the sale. I am not a fan of this aggressive style of retail. Sometimes, they even follow me around the store, almost forcing me into buying something. To be quite honest, I felt like patronizing some of these guys to their face so they leave me alone, but since I'm a regular, I usually refrain. Though trust me, despite my polite ways, I can be a total pr*ck to people that annoy the crap out of me. Sadly, it's to where I may have to starting going out my way to other locations to get my game fix. I work in the area and occasionally drop into this store to shop for used XBOX 360 games. I have a PS3 also, but prefer the box for games. Anyways, today I went there and found a used game that seemed interesting that cost $17 something and took it to the counter. The person working there searched around for 2-3 minutes for the disk and then went to check the sales computer. After checking, he said the game had already be sold and someone "forgot" to take the box off the rack. Huh!! They must either have lame customers who don't want the plastic game case when buying used games, or a lame employee who doesn't put the disk from behind the counter in the plastic box when selling used games. This comment is not about the dude who was there at the time trying to find the disk. I'm not a crazy stay-up-late-wear-a-diaper-no-eat (damn, who could refrain from eating) kind of gamer girl. I have a DS and a Wii, and lots of apps on my phone. I only go in to Gamestop to buy games for my daughter's DS, and I always hate doing so. I always feel like I'm the only girl in there, and usually am. The workers are usually not helpful at all, and are for some reason intimidated by members of the opposite sex. They either will not stop bothering me or avoid me at all costs. I think management needs to teach some kind of social skills instead of focusing so much on the technical aspects of World of Warcraft or whatever crazy ninja monkey battle game just came out. This Gamestop is pretty good it's located in Pearlridge Uptown 2nd floor. The employees are really helpful but more towards when you get to the register. When not so busy they walk around seeing if you have any questions or need help. When you get to register on busy days they help you with your questions you have, updating you with new games coming out, and update you with upcoming sales. Overall really good staff, prices can be crazy unless sales are happening, and really good location if in the area. read more

Located in Pearlridge Uptown 2nd floor, this gamestop is now the only one in the mall. I think the employees here are very blunt about wanting to help you. We brought in some games we didn't think would be valued much and left with $100. However, if you are looking for some help perusing, you probably won't find it here. They are usually so busy at the register, they don't have time to come out and walk the floor. In my opinion, gamestop has a good hold on the business of trading games without much competition, but this is one of the better ones thanks to the spirit the employees share. read more
