To my knowledge, the only store in town that deals with retro games anymore, and given that the competition is Gamestop, Games 4 Less is your best bet. The staff is always helpful and friendly, and eager to help find something for you. The trade-in values are decent, but don't expect a lot unless it's current-gen or rare*. Used games and systems come with a warranty, which is definitely nice, and the consoles are always bundled with a controller and the cables and are priced very fairly.
As always, though, there's downsides. I grew up with the store, when they had a location near the old Walmart, now Fresh Market, on Thomasville road, and would always enjoy buying and trading in games here. The store is pretty static, they've had the same layout for years and what seems like the exact same stock of retro games for the same amount of time, which as I've grown older has become stale. Some games are priced awfully. For example, I bought a copy of SMT Nocturne a few months ago for $50 new, only to find out that it was $20 new on Amazon. There's also the cash-in on any title with Zelda or Mario in the title, where they're priced way more than what anybody should pay for them. Something that was also disappointing that must've happened recently was that they consolidated their selection. The store is long when you enter, and there are counters shaped like a U all along the store, filled with games and games on the walls behind them. But when I went in recently, one whole side of the store, that housed mostly new Nintendo games, handeheld games, and a section for Sega, was gone and replaced with shelves that housed the budget titles. It was more than saddening to see that the retro side of the store was starting to die out, as that was the most fun part about going there. I hope that this doesn't mean that they'll just become a run-of-the-mill gamestore, but I have hope.
* - Old doesn't mean it's rare. You're not getting 30 dollars for a copy of Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt for the NES, so don't be disappointed that your copy of Madden NFL '99 for the N64 won't buy you a new 60 dollar game. read more
