Technically it's a 1 star I decided to buy some single cards since this is one of the only place that has a decent collection. The customer service here is hella trash. I'm visiting from out of state and decide to come here and look for some pokemon cards. The singles aren't price badly but the booster packs and cards are hella expensive. One thing they need to fucking work on is customer service if they want to be in business for the long run. They don't know how to talk to people and asking them questions, they get annoyed unless you're a girl. Good thing I didn't fucking tell them off. read more

I've come to this store for years for tabletop games, but recently I've found that it's gotten...I dunno, colder. Less about the love of the game, which is just sad. Then I started looking at them for TCG cards--Pokemon, Magic, etc, because I didn't know anyplace better to go. I had cards to sell that were definitely worth more than a few bucks, but that was their offer, and they acted like they were doing me a favor by even talking to me. I was considering it though, because I didn't want to deal with the hassle of Ebay, until one of the store employees caught my eye. He told me on the sly that he sells his cards at Fast Food Anime near Mitsuwa because their offers are a lot better. Customer service really sucked. The Indian guy there was rude to my fiancée and I, we're from out of town. All we asked is if they sold video games, and if there's a close by store that might. Pokémon has taken over second grade. My daughter was ready to spend her lemonade stand earnings on cards to bring to school for trading. But, most of all, she wants an Eevee. (Because it is so cute.) Our seven year old approached the manager and asked to be directed to Pokémon cards. He was so kind and helpful showing her the options (within her budget). She left excited beyond belief. I didn't appreciate todays visit at the store. I understand that it is a busy Memorial Day, but the lack of proper customer service greeting was unacceptable and I didn't have a pleasant check out experience. I would recommend going over closing remarks and how to properly address a customer when they are finished with their transaction. I was was informed that no one reads implying I also don't which I didn't appreciate, then I wasn't told to have a nice day or holiday. No close greeting was given to me and I won't be back here as a result. I heard other customers that were told to have a nice day and I felt left out completely. read more

Gamers world holds a special place in my mind and heart! I'm a total nerd when it comes to pokemon card collecting and video games. It's a hobby that I very much enjoy and love since I was a kid. I first visited gamers world woodfeild a few years ago and would meet and talk to people like Dana and Dave who are very knowledgeable and helpful as well as other collectors who come to hang out and buy some product. I love looking at the cool vintage cards and collectibles as well as the newer modern sets. my love for the modern sets started growing more since going to gamers world. Today, I invited my brother to come to this store with me, and he refused which was unusual because he loves coming here. I asked him why he didn't want to go and he didn't want to tell me, so I didn't think too much of it and went by myself. When I got back home, I inquired a bit more as to why he didn't go. He told me the last time he was there, which was a couple days ago (I think Thursday around noon), that while he was paying, an employee made a comment saying something along the lines of "When was the last time you washed your hands? You probably haven't showered today either." Needless to say, I am completely shocked by this comment. This is a horrifically offensive comment. I understand the need for being concerned about washing hands these days, but to ask a customer when was the last time they showered? That is completely unacceptable, especially while they are paying the store money. He was so offended by this comment that he was too embarrassed to tell me what happened. Both me and my brother like this store a lot and we visit fairly often, but honestly, I won't be returning unless this employee no longer works for this store. I already left this review on google, but quite frankly, I'm very upset about this and I want to make sure the owner/manager sees this. Ah, a nerdy paradise... great selection, friendly and knowledgeable staff... my biggest lament is that the store isn't large enough to hold more stuff! I was mainly impressed by their selection of rare/vintage Pokemon cards- but they also have figurines, plush, puzzles, and plenty of other collectibles from various franchises. Like many other folks whose job is still 'paused' under the quarantine, I was searching for some sort of entertainment on my last visit- and was quite pleased to get a small Pokemon figure in addition to some classic cards! This was a doubly awesome find as I had been looking to practice my resin model kit skills, so I gave him a little repaint later on. And yes, the prices here are higher than at your average 'big box' store, but it's worth being able to ask questions and talk to people who are both devoted fans and eager to help. I looked around for quite some time and didn't see anything I'd consider 'undoubtedly overpriced' compared to the other small gaming/comic shops I frequent. All in all, a shining and unique little gem hidden within IL's largest mall; and one well worth a visit from any fanboy or girl. (Also, I know the store has nothing to do with the mall's vending machine placement, but there's a great row of Bandai Gashapon machines right outside the shop entrance- as if you needed another excuse to drop by?) read more

I purchased a defected puzzle from their Orland Park location, and they refused to help me nor give me my $ back. Several missing pieces in that "Rosie the Riveter Buffalo games puzzle box" with several missing peices and the spares that don't at all. I am a frequent puzzle decoder that have worked on pieces ranging from 1000-3000. I know when I see a flawed product. I have pictures and videos to prove that the pieces i have don't work, but they still refused to answer my call. Very disappointed in both of these companies! read more

I'm only giving it one star because zero wasn't possible. The game are overpriced, selection is just okay. The store was very messy. Some old guy told me I couldn't go to where most of the board games were because he was receiving inventory, but a minute later he allowed some ladies he knew pass through. So I left. I guess I'll just shop for board games on CoolstuffInc.com from now on. The few game I did see were very expensive, I ended up finding it $30 cheaper.
