My budget was $4000, which isn't extravagant, but in South Bend, when I am providing my own linens and chargers and even candleholders, should get me what I envisioned. Fast forward to the planning meeting. The designer suggests putting this here, and that there. Everything looks great. All the while, I keep reminding her of my budget and she assures me everything will be wonderful. Two weeks later, I receive her design proposal which was OVER DOUBLE my budget. They also wanted to charge me $2000 solely for set up!! Although she fixed the proposal to be more within budget, the proposed decor and flowers were very plain, completely lacking in any wow factor. As a result of this, I ended up going with merryme events. Cher was able to give me my vision within my budget. It goes without saying that any wedding could be breathtaking if money was no object. However, the mark of a good florist and designer is making a beautiful space within a designated budget. They missed the mark completely. I did apply the $300 for uplighting at my wedding which was fine.

michaelangelos really knows what theyre doing …read more... they do a great job of communicating with you at every phase of the event planning, and the execution is spot-on. i particularly appreciated that they both designed/created elements based on our conversations, and also worked with what we brought them (e.g., items wed ordered from etsy), so it was easy to be pretty free to go with the flow as ideas hit you. one of my fav things, though, was that they were able to do things like string up decorations (something ive never done in my life. im scared of heights + bad at math, so its a miracle i even figured out how to order enough of the papel picado .... ), and they were also able to devise a way to drape a fabric that went with our bright color scheme over the curtains that were in the venue windows (which were a bright red thanskgiving/christmas-like pattern that looked like they were from the 70s (even my husband noticed them/thought they were terrible, and hes color-blind and sartorially-challenged)) to mask them. fantastic mix of professional and artistic -- i think theyre great to work with both if you know more or less what you want and need help executing it, and also if youre a blank canvas :)

Our van broke down on a recent trip to Michigan. After stuggling with AAA in the late evening we…read moreknew we had to figure something out or we would be sleeping in a van on the side of the road. I called Acab and they were able to pick up my family and take to a motel. Then later after AAA did not respond when they were supposed again- 12:15 AM, the cab co was able to come pick me up and take to the motel. The owner/driver was able to find one of the local constables and we relayed to them that our van was broke down and we would be taking care of it tomorrow and to not have us towed. They also gave me quick run down of the city and where the fine eating establishment were. They know the area well. Big thanks to them.

Let me set the scene for you: an outdoor wedding in South Bend in October.....where it could be…read more85* or it could be 65*; sunny or rainy; windy or calm. I would have been a bit of a frazzled bride trying to prepare for all of the possibilities.....except I had the awesome AAY's team on my side, so I didn't have to! From building the most beautiful tent to bringing in heaters when the temps looked even colder than ever predicted (a brisk 46*) to wiping down the chairs 12 times in the hopes the ceremony could happen outside (it didn't), they are 100% true professionals. We put the tent to the test with high winds and rain....and a very awesome and loud band, and it was perfect. And, the chairs, linens and other things we were able to rent from them couldn't have been any better. I can't thank them enough for the hours they spent making sure everything was just right, and for being such a great partner to work. They're by far the best in the business, and I am so grateful they were a part of our big day!

Our guests were on the dance floor all night, and everyone had a great time! Our ceremony was originally planned for the outdoor Oliver Gardens, but was moved indoors at the last minute due to the cold and rain. The sound was provided for the string quartets, our officiant and readers. Despite the last minute change, everything was perfect. The lighting provided for the tent was beautiful and really added to the atmosphere. We requested Shawn as our DJ since he was highly recommended by several people and he did an amazing job. We met with him prior to the wedding to discuss the music and he had some great recommendations that worked perfectly. He kept things moving all night and the dance floor filled. He's able to read the crowd and keep a festive atmosphere. He also handled a very wide variety of requests from our guests. Definitely no need to look elsewhere - ProShow is as good as it gets!

A quick scroll through her Instagram quickly proves her talent to capture the emotion in each shot. She is very knowledgeable about spots around Chicago, NW Indiana, and SW Michigan so she has great suggestions for where to take photos. During the shoot, she put everyone at ease with her easy going yet professional demeanor, and her friendly personality. I first met Alyssa when I was a bridesmaid for one of my close friend's wedding and she was the photographer. We had such a wonderful experience with her, and even though it was thunderstorming off and on during pictures the photos turned out outstanding. I wasn't even dating anyone but I knew that I would want her as my photographer when the time came for me to get married. Flash forward a few years later and she was the first vendor I booked. Alyssa offers both packaged and a la carte pricing, both of which are very reasonable. We opted for one of her standard options, which includes a free engagement photo session. As a side note, I really recommend taking advantage of this offer because not only do you have photos of this special time in your life, you also get comfortable taking staged photos with your SO and it helps a lot to have practice on wedding day. The day of the wedding, Alyssa and her second shooter were on time and ready to go. She came to the room just as we were finishing getting ready to get the shots right before I put on my dress. Then it was a well-controlled whirlwind of photos, from the first look through the portraits. We talked about everything ahead of time, including a portrait list, so we were able to get through these without any lag or confusion. Through the ceremony and reception, I hardly noticed the cameras while they were discretely shooting away. At the end of the night, Alyssa gave me the heads up that they were finishing and we got a couple of final portraits before they headed out. A couple of days post-wedding, Alyssa posts a sneak peek on her Facebook page so we immediately had some beautiful images to share with family and friends. Then, she retouches every photo before sending out links to the finished product. She sent us nearly a thousand photos from our wedding and we relived the spectacular day frame by frame.
