My husband and I had planned a last minute weekend getaway to Saugatuck for our Anniversary and the day that we booked out hotel I saw an IG story that said they had an opening for that Friday in Saugatuck on Oval Beach right by our hotel.. it was meant to be! I contacted them via IG and then communicated through email after booking. Jenn was so easy to work with and made it so easy. We literally just had to show up! Our setup was stunning! No detail went unnoticed. I opted for a charcuterie board and it was so good - a little sweaty by the time we got there but all good. They had sparkling waters on ice for us, too. The location of our setup was perfect for sunset and just hanging out. The weather could not have been better! The beach was not crazy busy and no one paid us much attention. One of the most unprofessional and blatantly racist establishments I've ever encountered…read more My friend's family hosted a party here, and throughout the night we were repeatedly harassed not by the actual owner, but by someone claiming to be the owner's sister. She entered the event uninvited, wearing pajamas, and began loudly accusing guests of things that simply did not happen. At just 8 PM, she barged in claiming someone had said the music wouldn't be turned down because it was a "Mexican party." No one matched the description she gave, yet she refused to calmly address the issue with the hosts and instead chose to be aggressive and confrontational. It was clear she came looking for a problem not a solution. Later, after 9 PM, she returned with a new accusation: that underage guests were being served alcohol. This was absolutely false. The bar was being monitored by adults over 21 who were checking IDs. Uninvited people may have walked in but that was not the fault of the hosts. Despite this, she called the police and forced the party to shut down, telling everyone they had one hour to pack up and leave. Again: this person was not the owner. She then brought in two more women, none of whom anyone knew, further escalating the chaos. It was disorganized, hostile, and beyond unprofessional. And then came the most disturbing moment of all: someone with her again, not the owner openly said they would "get out of their car and basically get in a fight with a Mexican but used a slur. This kind of racial hostility and harassment is not only disgusting, it's dangerous. I would never recommend this venue to anyone, especially members of the Hispanic community. The hosts lost their deposit based on lies and prejudice. Avoid this place at all costs. If you care about respect, safety, or basic human decency, take your business somewhere else.

The decorations was spot on , the event space was a nice size & clean even had a dance floor.. I was able to bring my own food in so that was big plus .. My daughter was super happy with everything.. We ended up having the most beautiful wedding and couldn't be happier with the whole experience. The food was delicious, and Noor, the event coordinator, was phenomenal with the details and everyone went above and beyond to be sure we had everything we needed all weekend long. I highly recommend the Gillespie Center for anyone having a wedding in South Bend - but especially if you are having a wedding at the ND Basilica. The convenience was awesome!

This all had to occur within one month. I found this venue online and it seems to be the best place considering the location and options. They were very accomodating and helpful. The communication was seamless. The event itself was very easy. The staff was very attentive and customer service oriented. Only complaint was that the bartender would need to be called back to the bar a few times, but then again the group was not drinking too much on this Sunday afternoon. They did an excellent job of setting up and creating the environment we had hoped for. The food was amazing, especially the mini-beef wellingtons! The prices are as what you would expect at any venue but the coordinator is very accommodating to your needs. The location is right off of the highway and the parking is very easy so its great for out of town guests (plus plenty of hotel rooms).
