I started with Class Action Fitness thinking it would be like past routines flirting with the gym…read more I'd work out for a few weeks - maybe a few months - overdo it, stop and revert to couch potato physique. There is no way Claire would let that happen. Her knowledge and concern for her clients are both exemplary. Over the past year, I've done one on one training, small group fitness sessions and a couple of massages at Class Action and have been extremely happy with all of it. I always feel I've gotten more than my money's worth with Claire and her staff. If you want gizmos or pickup lines, try the big box club. If you want to work out with great guidance, expertise and with a small group of good people, check out Class Action Fitness.

Best massages I've ever had!!…read more Ineta is the best there is! All of my massages are nothing short of perfection, and I am always left happy and relaxed :) Another thing I love about Class Action is their customer service. I am HUGE on customer service, and I rarely write reviews unless I've had an outstanding experience. I had purchased a Groupon for a 90-minute hot stone, and I ended up getting a 70-minute deep tissue instead. Don't get me wrong, the massage I got was incredible, and I also probably should have said something right away, but having grown up in the business industry (my dad owns a restaurant), I find that as a business owner, you want to know those types of things. So I contacted Clare just to inform her about what happened (I was maybe expecting a slight discount on my next massage), but she ended up giving me a complimentary 90-minute massage. She was so genuine, and that far exceeded my expectations. I was so grateful that she did that for me. All in all, I HIGHLY recommend Class Action Fitness for massages. Ineta does an amazing job, and both Clare and Ineta are absolute gems.

I had a very disappointing experience at Lifetime Fitness on Rochester Road. The customer service…read morewas unacceptable, and several staff members Aaron being one of them along with the other front desk staff were rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. Instead of making members feel welcome or addressing concerns respectfully, they came across as indifferent and unhelpful. I was able to get my CCW license faster than it took to get approved as a guest at this gym which says a lot. For a premium fitness club that charges premium prices, I expected professionalism and efficiency. Instead, I experienced poor communication, a frustrating process, and employees who seemed uninterested in helping. For a gym that charges premium membership fees, I expected a much higher level of professionalism and customer care. Unfortunately, this experience fell far below those expectations. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and provides better training so future members are treated with the respect and courtesy they deserve. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this location.

Was talking on my phone not bothering anyone suddenly an employee peaked her head out of her office…read moreroom and rudely told me to be quiet disrespecting me in the hallway then we had an intense verbal exchange and she caused a seen I mean she crashed out so bad. After the scene she caused I left the club and the next morning the Shelby township manager called me and told my membership has been canceled. I got harassed and disrespected then banned just because Karen thinks this her parents club and she can tell anyone in there to shut up. Place is a joke they charge 180$ a month acting like its a country club yet they never bother replacing the old machines nor educate the employees on how to respectfully approach patrons.

Unfortunately I have a long relationship with CP, and it isn't good. But I take responsibility for…read moremy last go-round with them. I was a member of CP in San Marcos CA twelve years ago. That studio, which was in North San Diego County was one of only two, the other was in downtown San Diego. They were the first CP studios, before the company sold out and started franchising. The studio was huge, the instructors were really good, and the only merchandise they offered were water bottles and a few singlets. I loved working out there but then one my cats became very sick and on a Saturday morning, when I was signed up for a class, I called my vet who said she could come over to euthanize Peanut so she wouldn't suffer anymore. I canceled my class but it wasn't within the 12-hour time window, so they billed me $10, or maybe it was $15, I can't remember for sure now. But I do remember the manager's response. It was essentially: "Too bad." She had no empathy at all, could have cared less. I moved back to MI in 2022 and in April of this year I joined the Club Pilates in Rochester Hills because it's less than five minutes from my house. I was a little, no more than a little, unhappy with the fact that the studio looks a lot like a boutique. Most of the front area is filled up with clothing and accessories. The studio is so cramped that walking between reformers and chairs is similar to walking down church aisles. There's about an inch, maybe two between the equipment to your right and your legs and the equipment to the left and your legs. One of the instructors spent the entire class standing in one spot, playing with her hair. Another instructor, who was pretty good, would often spend most of the class at the back of the studio talking to a couple of the members about her life. Instructors often had trouble with the mic/sound system, so it was sometimes difficult to hear their instructions. Sometimes the music was so loud that you couldn't hear the instructions. I spoke with two members who told me that they'd been injured in a class. I signed up for a three-month membership that I understood to be a trial. I signed up in the studio, everything was done electronically, as most things are nowadays, which is fine. However, I never received the contract via email, although I was told that I would. I was taking six, sometimes seven classes a week, had signed up for classes through the 24th of the month of July. Then I had a family emergency, that required me to be out-of-town for an indefinite period of time. I canceled all the classes, and notified the studio via email that I was canceling, that I was going to have to be out-of-town on and off for weeks and wouldn't be renewing my membership. (The membership started April 22 and went through July 22). I did tell them in the message that when I could start taking classes again I would be going to McEntire Pilates, because I preferred smaller classes. Club Pilates billed me for another month, through August 22: $260. I've gone round and round with the manager, and admit that I referred to her as a callous "you-know-what", to no avail. Over the past couple of days I've done research on CP parent company, Xpotential. What I found out isn't pretty. Hundreds and hundreds of lawsuits have been filed, all over the country, including a suit that the FTC filed, that the company lost. Club Pilates is, as many former members have described on Reddit, Facebook and other platforms/social media, a predatory company that cares only about making money. DO NOT JOIN CLUB PILATES! Find a small, local studio that's focused on you as a person, not as a consumer, a number. Feel free to send me an email if you want more info about my experience(s).

Josh was an excellent instructor and he was able to make sure everyone had the right form and posture for each rep. Everyone is super nice and supportive. They have fantastic student deals and the night time sessions during the week ultimately sold me on signing up as a client. Looking forward to exercising more and having fun.
