I called in this branch of Game, while shopping in Wakefield in Yorkshire, this branch of the large video games retailer is located near enough opposite the O2 store in the Trinity Walk mall, which of course is with the rest of the shops on the Upper Floor, and also fairly close to Pizza Express, if you turn where Caffe Nero is, you basically can keep walking and get to the store.
Judging by the sign, this is a former Gamestation store but has of course since then been converted with the traditional Game layout, which is something the firm has been doing on a national scale since the merger of the two businesses into one brand name, Game.
Inside the store, it is pretty much easy to navigate, like pretty much any Game store yet there still seemed to be a huge emphasis on pre-owned games, and it was a real shame to see very few new games being stocked, eventually I went behind the counter to ask if they stocked a game, having seen it in pre-owned.
The member of staff looked dis-interested, she even talked to another member of staff when she was working me about her lunch break, which made me feel unwelcomed and like I was a burden on her, someone she didn't want in the store at this time, she basically seemed reluctant to answer any of my questions such as the difference in price between standard and deluxe editions of games.
In the end, she gave me a game I feel wasnt new, it just had the game seal on and wasn't in cellophane of any sort, she claimed it was new but it followed the same process of her putting the disc out of where they keep them etc, as they would a pre-owned game, perhaps this was the last copy but still I was offered no discount of any sort because of this, she just seemed rude, disinterested and she wanted to serve and get rid of me a soon as possible, even by giving me a sub-par service and game condition too.
Overall due to a lack of new games being showcased in the store, and the awful service, I sadly feel this branch of GAME deserves a single one star. read more
