Computer Exchange is a strange place. Once you get over the smell of body odour and the fact that you're the oldest person in there, and also that you have less eyeliner on than the dude behind the counter, and have found your way upstairs, you can browse at your leisure through hundreds and hundreds of reasonably priced second hand DVDs. Downstairs is where you can bag new and second hand video games and hardware, along with mobile phones, laptops, televisions and other electronic gadgety items. If you get a Computer Exchange card, you can happily swap mobiles and consoles and stuff for the rest of your days, but it will mean that you have to queue up forever, and also cope with that smell. Only go in here when you have a cold.

A great shop that sells loads of second hand video games, consoles, and computer parts. Often plays some great music.

Was going to go to PC World originally where they would probably have charged a fortune and not taken as much care.

TradeMeIn is one of the few, independent stores which buy and sell games, mobile phones and tech…read moreitems, it's most similar rivals include CeX and Game, both of which have stores nearby, for me this store is much more modern and vibrant than other trade-in retailers with a blue theme, it just felt clean and modern inside which you generally don't get with CeX. The location is in Leeds centre, although being in St John's it is a little isolated and doesn't get the footfall which the main city centre and the likes of The Trinity does. The quotes here for trading in items seems rather generous, although for my phone I had been quoted higher from both Mazuma Mobile and Music Magpie, the quote I was given was much higher than any mobile phone networks recycle scheme and their nearest competitors, Game and CEX. The store was a little small, so the selection could have been better. There was a large selection of more older games and DVD's compared too new-ones. I don't like their website, it makes it rather difficult to set up an order and the database just doesn't work online, for example, if you searched for an iPhone it would come up starting with 3GS first, with around 20+ pages, and if you search the iPhone name and model exactly, it doesn't come up so this filtering system just isn't working and needs work, to improve the customer experience before coming into the store. With trade-in prices on average better than its closest rivals, yet not the best overall and a good store feel which is how a trade-in store should be, of course, it can improve based on making sure it is easier to get a quote, and perhaps the size of the store and location to a certain extent, it still is a slightly above average store in general and anything less than a three-star rating would surely be an insult for a store which I see high potential in to be upgraded in the future.

I love going there and browsing all of the new games on sale and getting the odd opinion from their staff - the guys in there generally have pretty good knowledge about the stock. They sell all kinds of computer games including PC Games, DS, PSP, Playstation 3, Xbox and more. They generally stock all the newest releases and a wide selection of older games so you shouldn't have a problem getting what you want - unless it is the release day when sensibly you should call and try to reserve the game! They also do pre-owned games for a reduced rate, which is cool. Although you don't often get than much of a discount - between £5-£10 ish - it's worth it since they won't sell a second hand game that won't play. They even have a selection of older games, such as PS2 games, which is great for geeks like me who want to collect all the Silent Hill games and so on! You won't always find an awesome old game, but always worth a check! Sometimes the staff can be a little too 'salesman' for my liking, but generally they are friendly and fun. All good!

Game in my eyes is the more expensive alternative to Gamestation. Selling more or less the same…read morething, consoles both portable and stationary, from the DS, Playstation, PSP, Xbox, Wii, so on and so forth. There are the accessories that go with these fine items, balance boards, extra joypads, portable packs, hand kits, even rather cool t shirts if that's at all your thing, I know it's mine. Games prices really don't undercut the market, and it appears that Game has some of the higher price tags than the internet and Gamestation. There is also a preowend games section, whereby most of the games look like they've been played once and completed and discarded with the utmost care in order to get on to the latest graphic offering. The last console I did purchase I did get it from Game, and that was only because I went up to Gamestation got the prices after snooping around Game, and then went back to Game, told them I was gonna buy the whole lot from Gamestation and they cut me a deal. So there is wiggle room if you're willing. Aim for a manager type who looks like he or she is low on commission. :)
