"An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So, when life is dragging you back with…read moredifficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great." Thomas Fuller As far back as the Stone Age, archery has been present. It's one of the oldest of sports and it's supported by the ancient artifacts that have been preserved and found. Prior to man using a gun to kill and destroy other objects and people the use of a bow and arrow was used. The word archery comes from the Latin word arcus, which means bow and arrow. In fact, in an archery game the arrow can fly twice over again than what a cheetah can run. We have all these facts about archery. Why should one care about archery today? We don't hunt any longer? We have guns to shoot our enemies and kill our food? If one forgets their past history, like what is apparently happening today all these things are forgotten. Even if your not hunting, which I would never do. Taking an animals life for sport is wrong. That's just my personal preference. Im not going to hunt any humans either? But we need to keep the past alive here in the present. The staff here are very well trained in the skills of archery. Maybe not for hunting but just to keep the skill alive. Most of the staff are on the younger side as well. They build bows here for all price ranges. And can even teach you how to use your bow properly. While the bow and arrow was mankind's first weapon of choice and advanced technology. In many American Native cultures the bow and arrow symbolized an embodiment of magic as given through the spirit world. These days the bow and arrow has truly evolved. The compound bow is what we ended up taking home vs the recurve bow. The compound bow allows the user to draw with more control and less weight as you use it. The compound bow is truly better at accuracy than the recurve bow. Most individuals start on a recurve bow and graduate to a compound bow. The consistency of the compound bow might seem more complex it's easy to master with practice. A good shooter is known for their aim. Archery is in the love of watching the arrow fly and hit the target. Now focus your mind and let the bow be part of you. Aim and let go and watch the arrow fly to the target.

Don't have to be a professional to have your own tune-up person!! Affordable, legit work!!!!…read moreTrustworthy, real LLC business. Super easy to text and coordinate with, with 1-day or sometimes 2-day turnaround--drop-off/pick-up from his house. He's looking for returning customers, so his prices are set really well for that. He can turn a zombie board back to life!!! Did you see his IG?!!! If we had known, our friends' jacked-up boards could have had a second life if they had met Ryan. We were thinking of saving up for a new board too... no need!!! We have SickGnar tune-ups with Ryan now!! It's been over a decade since we've maintained our boards. We used to wax our own boards with friends who sharpened edges too. But danggggg, Lee Canyon!!! Never have I had a rock dent/hole until this year (2nd time trying Lee Canyon)!! The SO's boards had injuries from rails, boxes, and other features. Mine is due to small boxes, but mostly clumsiness and laziness. I had some wood exposed on the top edge, and more. Ryan was able to get it all repaired!! Perfect timing after Mammoth, but right before a birthday boarding trip to LA Bear Mountain. Snowboard and ski maintenance/tune-ups and repairs. 1. Text Ryan for a quick quote and appointment/time to drop off. We texted photos and gave a drop-off time. 2. We drove to his house and waited in the driveway by the garage. He was able to give a quick assessment and texted us a final price, which wasn't far from his original quote. He learned more about us--how and where we board--so he knew we're pretty low-maintenance people. So glad he was willing to take our boards. He did not push to upsell. Depending on why work is needed, pickup day could be 1 or 2 nights later. 3. He'll confirm when the boards are done and the pickup night. Stroll by then, check out your board, and pay there. We paid via Zelle. Easy peasy!! Of course, trust is needed since you're handing over your equipment. He's registered--a legit business. He's professional, reliable, affordable, and has great customer service skills... are we still in Vegas?! He's a gem! We have LA friends jealous of having SickGnar here in Vegas. Two boards: Salomon Drift Medium gouge base repair - $15 Edge sharpen and hand wax - $30 Ride Low Ride 2 top sheet delaminations - $20 Core shot base repair - $15 Medium gouge base repair - $15 Edge sharpen and hand wax - $30 $125 total I mean, we basically have new boards after visiting him!! He was able to fill and cover everything. Because of my top wood exposure that needed time to dry, we picked up on the second night. This is not his main hustle, but it is a legit registered business. He mentioned he has years of experience doing this at Sport Chalet. If he gets more staff, I can see SickGnar Tune-Ups becoming the smog check for boards and skis in ski towns. Thanks, Ryan!!!! You're the best!!! Love your work!

He goes above and beyond what I expect a coach to do and doesn't force you to become something you can't be. I've had times where work interfered with my schedule and he's adjusted his schedule to fit mine. The facility itself is well taken care of. The bays are clean, the faculty is amazing and friendly, there's fresh cold water onsite for you to use, the bathroom is clean and they even make sure that the bays stay working 100% during your practice sessions! If I ever come back to Vegas, I'm definitely coming back here. In total I've had maybe around 15 lessons here and my swing has never been better! As a former military fighter Jet Engine Mechanic, electrical and mechanical engineer, inventor and metal fabricator, I appreciate the extreme quality of the MEGASTUN flashlight. It's light beam is FAR SUPERIOR to the Enforcer which I own-but-don't-use-anymore... and one Enforcer is defective after 6 months. This is where I discovered the MEGASTUN. The bright light beam is 25-30% brighter than the Enforcer and you can buy extra batteries and bring them with you, whereas you cannot do so with the Enforcer. If the Enforcer flashlight stun gun dies during your outdoor adventures/job, you're out of luck. With the MEGASTUN, you simply remove one battery and replace with fresh... HOWEVER, the MEGASTUN battery lasts for many, many hours, whereas the Enforcer, maybe 2-3 hours on one charge and done... useless. MEGASTUN if FAR SUPERIOR IN MANY WAYS to all other flashlight/stun guns online, and I have purchased and used them all. Now they're clutter in my workshop. I love the MEGASTUN so much I bought two (2) and carry one on the left side of my Weapons Belt and one on the right side.... and a spare charged battery (half the size of a golf ball) just in case I need it in the middle of the mountains for 2-3 night search missions. I use the MEGASTUN flashlight to see the terrain hundreds of feet ahead of us, and to also look for "predator eyes" of coyotes, bears, mountain lions and bobcats. When they approach too close, I use the "brighter" of the two beams of light. If they still continue to approach, I use the "strobe" light mode. If they still continue their approach I use the sound of the "stun gun" and that usually makes them turn away. As soon as my iPhone 13 network allows to send photographs from phone to home computer (hopefully within a day or so) I'll take photographs of the Weapons Belt with the two (2) MEGASTUN flashlight/stun guns with (holsters riveted in place) so you the prospective new MEGASTUN owner can see how I use them in my heavy training in THE MOST INTENSE OUTDOORS of the rugged Sierra Nevada Mountains at 5,000 - 14,000 ft elevation in hot summer or blizzard winters. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND the MEGASTUN flashlight/stun gun to anyone who wants quality and light and/or protection.
