My son wanted to learn a new game called Riftbound so I bought he and I two starter decks at Wylie Game Nerdz. My son informed my that I bought the wrong ones. So I purchased the correct one directly from Game Nerdz online and picked it up in person at their local warehouse. Today I went to return the UNOPENED (you literally have to tear Cardboard using the rip feature located at the top of the boxes to get into them) and the employee said returning sounds reasonable and verified that they were not opened and I showed receipt of purchasing them from the same week. He said he needed approval to return and so he messaged the district manager. She informed him to blow me off and say I need to email their support for assistance and next steps. I called support to explain the situation and they said they could not help either because it was purchased at a store location. So, the district manager already knows this and just wanted to give me the run around . A common rule in marketing , like marketing 101 as a matter of fact, is to make the customer experience as easy as possible. This is straight forward return and they would not make any exception and said I am stuck with these wrong boxes I got. See pictures. They are mint and unopened and I bought them same week. They also would not let me speak to the district manager and told me they could give me the email for customer support. Any REAL LGS or game store for that matter that's not corporately owned would easily accept my return. Especially considering I bought these items replacements from them as well, and NOT from a competitor. Shame on me. I'll go to Madness Games and any other store not named Gamer Nerdz moving forward. Gametrade recently changed from being a video game store (with lots of retro titles) to a full on gaming store....all the better. They are working hard to make this store the go to for all your table top gaming needs from Friday Night Magic (and other TCGs), to boardgames, to RPGs and Table Top War Games.They have card protectors, dice, D&D minis, Citadel Paints and hobby tools. All with an excellent selection. Plus there are still some current console game titles as well. Currently they seem to only carry D&D and Games Workshop (40k/AOS). So don't expect to find Paizo, Free League, Chaosium or other RPGs. Likewise don't look for Mantic, Warlord or other Table Top War Games. BUT considering the size of the store this is an understandable choice and from my experience you're more than welcome to bring in any game during opening gaming hours. My kids earned themselves some Pokémon cards for the work they did today so we drove up to Game Trade to pick some up. I had never been in there before but the store is very impressive. It caters to table tops and consoles alike with a pretty extensive selection for whatever your preference. The store is clean and very well organized. The staff there greeted us and went right to work assisting my youngins' with choosing their packs. They were knowledgeable and kind so I definitely want to keep this business here for a good long time. Get in there and nerd it up. read more

My kids love coming here! They have a room where you can play games. It's the perfect setup for them to have fun. We had my son's birthday party here and it was one of the best ones he's had! We brought in gaming snacks and let all the boys play for three hours. The place is pretty clean and they have plenty of games to choose from. The staff are friendly and super helpful! Decent selection of games for all consoles and blu-rays. They are next door to subway so the smell carries over. I wish this place was as big as the location in mesquite. It's very clean and organized. The employees are very informative. If you have a game trade card and pre order a game, it's an automatic 10% off. I love this game store because it allows you to return any game within a 3 day period. It has a "vip club" that cost $10 per year and has a 10% discount on all used games. This game store has games ranging from the GBA, GBC, GB, NES, PlayStation, Xbox, PS Vita and Nintendo Switch! It has almost everything a regular GameStop has and even some extra third party controllers and even the Hori Arcade System. I would highly recommend checking out this game store! read more

Great place to sell your game system and games. Very friendly staff and was great explaining how it works and what they would buy and not. We got more $$ here than what gamestop would pay! Just went in the GameTrade store and asked if they had a case for my son's new Nintendo 3ds. Guy helps me pick the right one out. I pay for it. Go outside and try to put it on my son's game and I didn't fit. Carried it directly back into the store and asked to return it. They refused. You can't return anything that's been opened! I said "y'all sold me this saying it would fit my son's game, and it didn't. That's not my fault!" They refused to help me any further. Said I could send an email to the store and see if that helps. I told them this was poor customer service, and I would not be doing any more business with them. read more

This place has a horrible pre-order system. I preordered two games and both of them has not been a good experience. The first one, they didn't call me if my preorder was in even though it was. The second one for the Evil within, they won't get it until Wednesday. Unacceptable for a game that's a highly good one. Won't preorder again at this location. read more

Went into this place with my 9 year old son and two friends to buy the new Star Wars game. They had the deluxe version on shelf but I opted to buy the Regular edition which was behind the counter. Employee grabs the game and goes to a register for us to pay. I asked to look at the back of the game and he wouldn't let me look at it. I even placed a $100 dollar bill down and he still wouldn't let me look at it! It was embarrassing for me because he thought I would steal the game even in the presence on three young kids. At that point I decided I would never buy anything at this store. They lost the sale because they caused a scene and made me out to be a thief! Worst experience ever in a retail store ever!! I don't recommend any parent to shop here unless they want to be belittled by the extremely arrogant video gamer staff. These guys need a life! read more

WALL OF TEXT INCOMING I'm a regular in this video game store since they've opened in Wylie in 2014. They've improved vastly since then - their yearly membership benefits, their management, array of video games, everything. Important info: the VIP membership is yearly, and sets you back at $10. They give you a card and a coupon book which gives you even more discounts, free disc repairs and access to the game room (note that you cannot use the coupons until a day passes after renewal or sign up. You can renew your membership and you'll get another coupon book. Be mindful of the previous coupon book you have as they have expiry dates.) you upon sign-up, which also acts as a gift card. They offer a sub-currency in the form of points that you get through purchasing anything. Points are earned by the dollar. I believe cents are rounded up. Upon getting 200 points (whopping $200 worth of purchases), you'll earn $5 store credit. It can be used for games or services provided in Game Trade. You instantly get 10% off used games, 10% more credit in trades, and membership exclusive access to deals and whatnot. If you don't have your card, just tell them your phone number, and everything will go as it should. If you seek to buy or trade games and consoles here regularly, it pays for itself. If you just plan on making one stop, I wouldn't recommend it. Customer service is impeccable. Staff is informative, knowledgeable, and friendly. Every question I've asked has been answered (inquiries about the membership, price matching policies, and etc). They quickly finish your transaction and manage to take your game, clean it (if damaged), and always inform you about the return policy should anything go wrong. Their prices are also realistic and up to par with GameStop and eBay. They are well up to the task and I appreciate everything they do. Shoutout to store manager Michael, assistant manager Scottie, and DJ. The other associates I've spoken are also awesome, but these three people are the ones I've interacted with most. Game Trade does a good job at managing their inventory of games. They take great care in organizing every shelve and corner to alphabetize time for your convenience. Most games with their respective cover art and sometimes their manuals. There used to be a good portion of oddballs with printed out paper covers to simply identify the games, but as of 2015-2017, it seems to have been minimized greatly. You'll still see some games without manuals, but at least there's the cover art. Buying used games is easy. Just take the game you want to the counter, and they get the disc and put in the case you picked up. If the game is really damaged, they'll clean it up. Most of the games I picked up there were working and in good condition. They price match too. If you're buying brand new games, just get the display case that's wrapped in a plastic cover on the shelf. The associate will grab a sealed copy of the game in the drawer. You pay for it. Done. But, if you happen to be the unfortunate individual to find a new game, and discover that the display case is the only one around, they'll offer to put the game disc in the display case and rewrap the game. Return policy states that you can return a used product for 3 days with a receipt. Reasonable. All merchandise sold has a 30 day defective warranty. Also reasonable. Blu-Ray sales are final. I'm sure they have their reasons. New products can be returned within 14 days provided you have a receipt and that said product is unopened. The usual stuff. The good thing is that the receipt sometimes has a coupon, though I haven't seen any BOGO (buy one get one) coupons since last year. While their inventory of video games far surpasses that of GameStop and possibly other video game stores, they don't always carry everything; however, you can ask an associate if they carry a game they don't have in the store, and if their Mesquite store has it, they can call up said store and get the game you wanted reserved, provided you pay the price it normally costs to purchase it, so they can ship and transfer the reserved game back, give it you and vice versa. I was trying to look for a game called Warriors Orochi 3 for the Xbox 360, but the Wylie store didn't have it. I asked Michael, and he quickly called them up to hold it for me. I paid for the price of the game including the membership discount. It took a day for the game to get transfered. Game Trade is quite literally, the jack of all trades. They have a game room (which I surprisingly haven't used once since I first set foot in this store) with various stations, accompanied with food & drink vending machines to quench your thirst or hunger. They also have used games, movies, anime, accessories, merchandise, trading cards, and much more that I can't think of. Greatest game store ever. TL;DR - Game Trade is an awesome store. Go there. Stopped here yesterday, gps took us a funky way and we saw this store and had to stop. Anywhere with pre-owned games, we stop at. Deals man, deals. It's on par with GameStop pricing wise. I checked GameStop member pre owned pieces while in the store (on my phone) and this store has them for $1-2 less so I got a few games. The membership thing is $10 for a year and u basically make the savings up by what u save getting the games and they clean them WAY better than most game stores that "clean" them. The store has games alphabetized perfectly and all the staff was really helpful and friendly and surprisingly not awkward like most game employees. GameStop employees can be super hateful and rude when you're a girl but they were accepting and nice here. Answered my questions professionally about the year membership and didn't attempt anything sketch with pricing or the membership. I really really liked this store. The manager was nice as well. The only down sides- loud cursing teenagers playing games in the back. Children come in the establishment and that isn't appropriate. Thy might need to put a sign up telling the kids to not cuss or to behave and chill. The only other down side was the super freezing air conditioner but it cut off a few times so that's not a big deal. All my games worked. So all and all, awesome staff, amazing selection of older games (yas!) and rad pricing. Def going back as soon as I can. The guys that work here are super knowledgeable about games and systems across the board, always make sure I understand store policy, and are great when it comes to pre-orders. So to start off me and my boyfriend enjoy going into this store often to look at the games they have and see what kind of new games they have. Normally the employees are super nice and helpful! My boyfriends birthday is coming up so i thought i would go in to look for some gifts for him. I always wear a backpack instead of a purse because i am more comfortable that way and i get back/shoulder problems if i wear a different type of bag. i have worn a backpack in to the store before when i go in with my boyfriend and they never ever say anything! this was only my second time going to the store without my boyfriend and theres a new worker who is fat and hairy. not only was he rude to me but he also demanded that he puts my backpack behind the counter and holds it till i'm done shopping or put it next to the front door! He said this very rudely. i didnt want to put it by the front as it could have been stolen and i was definitely not comfortable handing my personal property to this greasy guy. he also says it in front of about 5 other people and it was just very embarrassing! they never ever say anything to me when my boyfriend is there and you would think that even a purse would be more of a threat since it is open and right in front or on the side of someone, yet they let other people just walk around with their purse or other bags.
