Sitting around bored at home and decided to finally pick up Witcher 3. Checked Facebook marketplace…read morefor some used ones - no dice. Checked Kijiji and nada. Checked eBay and the prices + shipping seemed really high. Teleported back to 2018. Checked Bestbuy online and the price was $60. Hmmm... seems high for a game that came out 3 years ago. Checked EB games online and the price was $40 for a recycled copy - so I figured why not? I called the Leduc store to see if they had a recycled copy on-hand. Spoke to Chad and Chad was all like "bro, just cop the new copy it's actually $30 right now fam!"(conversation probably not verbatim) - due to some Sony promotion. I live in SW Edmonton, so Bestbuy is actually a lot closer - thought I'd just drive there instead. I called Bestbuy to see if they 1) had the game and 2) were also offering it for $30. Have you ever tried calling a Bestbuy store for help? Try it - I'll wait. GOOD LUCK. Anyway, drove down to Leduc and picked up my game! This is the 3rd or 4th game I've bought from here in the last few months and the service is always consistent and the staff are really helpful! AND you can actually call the store and have someone answer and answer your questions, put stuff on hold, etc. Shout out to Chad!

They have a good selection of games and decent prices, but there is two issues. One, the customer…read moreservice isn't great and when I went, they were a bit on the rude side. Second, their trades are insane. If they give you 50 cents for a game, they sell it for 15 or 20 dollars. Overall, it is an average EB games, with decent selection and prices, but their customer service and trade-in system need a few tweaks.

Just For Fun Video Games - Paid $48 for two games. Not sure what each one was exactly priced at as their games do not come with the price specified.

After running around multiple game stores in search of (3)DS games and being told they no longer…read morecarried them, we were recommended to check out Just For Fun. We walked in without a particular game in mind, more just wanting to browse their Pokemon, Zelda, Kirby, and Fire Emblem stock, plus any other nostalgic games we came across. Sure enough, they had large selection of Nintendo games available, from GameCube, GameBoy, DS, Wii and the Switch. The store was very quiet, as we were the only customers inside during our whole visit. The front employee was very friendly and helpful, ensuring to check up on us periodically as I took my time looking through their selection. The way this store is organized makes it more suiting for those who have a good idea of what they are looking for, as most of their games are stored in cases or behind the counter. For those just browsing like I was, it is really hard to see what they have behind the counter, as there is a fair distance between you and the shelf. I did appreciate that they were alphabetically organized though! Many of their games also don't come in cases, so if you're curious about what the game is about, you have to look it up on your phone or ask the staff. The other inconvenience was that the games are not marked with prices, so again, you have to ask the employee each time which I found a little tedious. As for their game selection, there were very limited Pokemon and Zelda games, and no Fire Emblem games. That's obviously not a fault on their part, but if you have a particular game in mind, I would recommend calling ahead of time to see if they do have it available.

BioWare - The characters of Mass Effect. They and the narrative are what make the series critically-acclaimed.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Mass Effect trilogy on PlayStation 3. The games are so…read morecritically-acclaimed and universally-loved that BioWare is developing Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, a remaster of the trilogy plus DLC, promo weapons, armor, and packs. Legendary Edition will be optimized for 4K, available for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and will be released sometime in the first half of 2021. The original Mass Effect was released in 2007 followed by sequels in 2010 and 2012. Where Mass Effect really hit its stride was Mass Effect 2. To me, the best thing about the series is the characters. The universe of Mass Effect is beautifully-crafted and the characters are amazingly fleshed-out in wonderful detail. The writing, character design and development are terrific. The acting is great. An enormous amount of dialogue is contained within these games. I met Mark Meer, the voice of the series' main protagonist, Commander Shepard, at Dragon Con. The trilogy's cast of voice actors has been relatively star-studded for a video game series. The cast includes the likes of Keith David, Seth Green, Lance Henriksen, Marina Sirtis, Michael Dorn, Buzz Aldrin, Freddy Prinze Jr, Troy Baker, and - most memorable to me - Martin Sheen as the Illusive Man. Like any good role-playing video game, I took a liking to many of the characters, from genetically-engineered krogan Grunt to perfect human Miranda Lawson (also genetically-engineered). The games do an excellent job of making you feel like a part of the ME universe and taking you on an epic, sci-fi, space opera journey. The game mechanic that has made Mass Effect such a success is player choice and its effect on the storyline, characters, and universe. The choices the players make carry over and intensify from game to game. It's like Choose Your Own Adventure, but on steroids; complex and extremely well done. BioWare is also known for developing other popular RPG franchises such as Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Dragon Age. The company is based in Epcor Tower, in the center of downtown Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. They have a subsidiary in the US, BioWare Austin, in Austin, Texas.

I walk in and was told me to put on hand sanitizer, I said I can't I am allergic - their response.."then don't touch anything in our store!" Next, told me to put on a mask, i said i can't, medically exempt... then I was immediately asked to leave because of mask refusal and they don't care about my disability and was escorted out of the store. Absolutely rude as hell.. I will NEVER shop here again!!! People with allergies and disabilities deserve respect! The way I was treated was absolutely disgusting.

I pre-ordered a couple games and was assured that I would get a phone call when they came in. No call. At all. When I finally went in, was told that I must have ordered from the mall location. Uhhhhhh, I'm pretty sure I'd remember what location I ordered the games at. Anyways, no record of my order, no refund for my deposit and they even sold my game!!!!! The female manager talks way too much and I don't like always being upsold crap I don't want every time I go there. When did EB Games become a commission retailer? A 2 minute trip to that location always has me there for more than 20 minutes as they ramble on and on and on pushing more junk at you. I watched one staff member sit on his cell phone as I searched for a game and was offered no help looking for it until I went to the till and asked. I'll keep my business at WalMart and Best Buy. EB Games used to be a great company. Now they're annoying and pushy. I also don't feel that when you buy a "new" game, you're charged full price for a copy they had to open to display. I believe that would label it as "used" from that point. False advertising. Watch out for that. And there is just no getting away from that ever annoying SURVEY they always stuff down your throat at the end of the transaction. Even some of the employees look ashamed to mention it. Save your time and use Kijiji or a larger retailer for your game hunt.

I'm not much for book reading but if something catches my eye I tend to buy it. A great place to find a selection of books but if you want a definite answer for a specific book at location just check it through their website. Website: http://www.chapters.indigo.ca/en-ca/ I find it very useful. They also added a section for unique gift shopping like mugs, bento lunchbox, & etc. A section for children books which is great for the easter season. Accessories such as book-markers are handy. Atmosphere is like a library but fresh books ready to be bought, staff is friendly, & parking is large. Starbucks is connected to the store which is quite nice. We just parked at the back and walked around. The book we were getting signed was displayed right after walking in. There was confusion which way the line was going to pay though. The line when straight back but then it hit a book shelf and people lined up on either side of it. For busy times, it would be great to know where to stand. The layout isn't ideal with the shelves forming a V instead of horizontal lines. Even though the layout isn't great, the store is big and has lots of selection. They had children activities going on and it was great to see staff there and families doing crafts. The book signing line was along the wall by the Starbucks. People would cross to access the magazine area but it wasn't a major inconvenience for everyone. The staff were good to make sure we paid for our book and asked for our names for the book to be personalized. Someone offered to take our photo with the author which was a nice touch. I didn't browse much but did see to the side of the cash area is the stationary and gift area. A great addition to the strip mall but not a place I would frequent on busy weekends.
