The people are polite, at least since they've changed management a couple years back. I just wish that they would sell Amiibos regularly again and some vintage game stuff. One downside I will say is that when you order online you can't link your card up to get the savings compared to in-store. I think they have a lot of flaws with their online store.

EB Games is a store dedicated to Video Games, Video Game Consoles, and their accessories. They…read moreusually have a pretty good selection of games. They carry mostly newer game titles but you can manage to find older games for cheap. Need a headset for your game system? EB has them for good prices. They usually have consoles for sale in store however I still usually make sure to make a reservation for pick up which you can set up online or on the phone. I have not been disappointed by the staff or a game yet. They have a cash in system where you can cash in your old games and systems and receive store credits however EB games is often criticized for the amounts they offer. I don't usually trade my games in but it is something to pay attention to if you want a discount on newer games. The downside of this store is the size. It is quite small and gets crowded easily. Because of the size the check out lines can be long and in the way if you are trying to get to the other side of the store. They usually have two people on the registers but sometimes complicated returns or check outs happen and take time. I have bought many games here and I'm sure I will continue to do so in the future.

Sitting around bored at home and decided to finally pick up Witcher 3. Checked Facebook marketplace…read morefor some used ones - no dice. Checked Kijiji and nada. Checked eBay and the prices + shipping seemed really high. Teleported back to 2018. Checked Bestbuy online and the price was $60. Hmmm... seems high for a game that came out 3 years ago. Checked EB games online and the price was $40 for a recycled copy - so I figured why not? I called the Leduc store to see if they had a recycled copy on-hand. Spoke to Chad and Chad was all like "bro, just cop the new copy it's actually $30 right now fam!"(conversation probably not verbatim) - due to some Sony promotion. I live in SW Edmonton, so Bestbuy is actually a lot closer - thought I'd just drive there instead. I called Bestbuy to see if they 1) had the game and 2) were also offering it for $30. Have you ever tried calling a Bestbuy store for help? Try it - I'll wait. GOOD LUCK. Anyway, drove down to Leduc and picked up my game! This is the 3rd or 4th game I've bought from here in the last few months and the service is always consistent and the staff are really helpful! AND you can actually call the store and have someone answer and answer your questions, put stuff on hold, etc. Shout out to Chad!

Second, their trades are insane. If they give you 50 cents for a game, they sell it for 15 or 20 dollars. Overall, it is an average EB games, with decent selection and prices, but their customer service and trade-in system need a few tweaks.

Just For Fun Video Games - Paid $48 for two games. Not sure what each one was exactly priced at as their games do not come with the price specified.

After running around multiple game stores in search of (3)DS games and being told they no longer…read morecarried them, we were recommended to check out Just For Fun. We walked in without a particular game in mind, more just wanting to browse their Pokemon, Zelda, Kirby, and Fire Emblem stock, plus any other nostalgic games we came across. Sure enough, they had large selection of Nintendo games available, from GameCube, GameBoy, DS, Wii and the Switch. The store was very quiet, as we were the only customers inside during our whole visit. The front employee was very friendly and helpful, ensuring to check up on us periodically as I took my time looking through their selection. The way this store is organized makes it more suiting for those who have a good idea of what they are looking for, as most of their games are stored in cases or behind the counter. For those just browsing like I was, it is really hard to see what they have behind the counter, as there is a fair distance between you and the shelf. I did appreciate that they were alphabetically organized though! Many of their games also don't come in cases, so if you're curious about what the game is about, you have to look it up on your phone or ask the staff. The other inconvenience was that the games are not marked with prices, so again, you have to ask the employee each time which I found a little tedious. As for their game selection, there were very limited Pokemon and Zelda games, and no Fire Emblem games. That's obviously not a fault on their part, but if you have a particular game in mind, I would recommend calling ahead of time to see if they do have it available.

I have (had) two issues with this location…read more First was the absolute a-hole I had to deal with one day I was in their having a friendly conversation with the other staff member. The guy came across as an elitist with his nose in the air just because he worked at a game store I guess?? (I was applying for PT work...I called him on his shit attitude before I left...I didn't get a call back...haha) My second issue is their prices, but not in the way you might think. Some of their games were outrageously over priced, while some were dirt cheap when they should cost much more. I also came across a game in their bargain bin that they also had locked up in the showcase (same game with two very different price tags). So I guess my issue was their inconsistent pricing. That being said, if you know your games you could potentially snipe a good title for cheap.

The prices are probably pretty competitive to other used game stores but they surely aren't anywhere near the cheapest place to find games. I walk in and was told me to put on hand sanitizer, I said I can't I am allergic - their response.."then don't touch anything in our store!" Next, told me to put on a mask, i said i can't, medically exempt... then I was immediately asked to leave because of mask refusal and they don't care about my disability and was escorted out of the store. I wish Sherwood Park would open another video game store…read more I will move my business to the EB Games at the mall, and that's only when I'm desperate enough to need to buy from them. I pre-ordered a couple games and was assured that I would get a phone call when they came in. No call. At all. When I finally went in, was told that I must have ordered from the mall location. Uhhhhhh, I'm pretty sure I'd remember what location I ordered the games at. Anyways, no record of my order, no refund for my deposit and they even sold my game!!!!! The female manager talks way too much and I don't like always being upsold crap I don't want every time I go there. When did EB Games become a commission retailer? A 2 minute trip to that location always has me there for more than 20 minutes as they ramble on and on and on pushing more junk at you. I watched one staff member sit on his cell phone as I searched for a game and was offered no help looking for it until I went to the till and asked. I'll keep my business at WalMart and Best Buy. EB Games used to be a great company. Now they're annoying and pushy. I also don't feel that when you buy a "new" game, you're charged full price for a copy they had to open to display. I believe that would label it as "used" from that point. False advertising. Watch out for that. And there is just no getting away from that ever annoying SURVEY they always stuff down your throat at the end of the transaction. Even some of the employees look ashamed to mention it. Save your time and use Kijiji or a larger retailer for your game hunt.
