I called Galway Co-Op over a week ago and they scheduled me for a fill the following Monday. On Friday three days before my appointment they called me and said that they would be delivering to me first on Monday morning between 8am and 9am and they'd call before and I needed to be home for a tank inspection. On Monday around 930 am when I hadn't heard from them I called them to see what was going on because I had an appointment that I needed to go to. She told me they were running late and not to worry about it because they wouldn't be there before 12 anyways. At 330ish I called them again to ask them when they'd be coming because I wouldn't be home past 5pm. Oddly I wasn't able to sit home all day from 8 till after 5 waiting for their phone call. She told me that that was fine and that they would come tomorrow. I asked if it would be early in the morning because I couldn't miss anymore work waiting for them and she said yes it would be first thing and they would call prior. At 3 o'clock the next day when I didn't hear from them again I called them back. I called and said I had an appointment for the day before and they were supposed to be there first thing in the morning for the second time and that I had now ran out of fuel. She then told me they were there the day before and I wasn't there to let them in to check the tank. I told her I had called multiple times the day before checking in on them and no one had said that I had missed them or that anyone had come. And I said that if I missed them it would've been after 5 and That shouldn't be the case because I called them to tell them that I couldn't be home any longer and we had rescheduled for the next day but apparently no one had communicated that to anyone else at the Co-op. I found out they came at 7pm. She didn't apologize and made it seem like it was my fault after I called them multiple times. She told me she would tell the driver and have someone come out by the end of the day No one called and no one came out and I'm still out of fuel. Terrible service. I would've had no issues if they just called and kept me in the loop but they didn't and how they handled it I feel was completely unacceptable. Two days I was told that I would receive fuel and two days they were not even close to accurate on their times. Very unimpressed and the "discounted" price isn't worth the aggravation and how unprofessional they are. read more

I have been a member of this wonderful Galway CoOp for several years now. I know I am saving lots of money through membership.. What's not to like about saving money?.. Several years ago, my former oil company told me that my oil furnace was in need of replacement. I got a price from them and I assumed that they were doing the best they could.. Well, a fellow teacher told me that he also had the same predicament and he shopped around and found that the CoOp had a very competitive price for the work, using a better quality boiler.. Skeptically, I called them and they convinced me that they were the ones to go with for this job.. The work was done in a day, during wintery weather and the quality of the work still gains complements from folks coming over to see my amateur radio equipment in the adjoining room in my basement. After the installation I continued to enjoy the savings from delivery of oil from one of their suppliers. Next, after years of sporadically loosing power, I decided to replace my gas fired generator which I had to drag out of the garage, incrementally throw switches in the proper sequence, start up the generator and hope I wouldn't run out of gasoline. Well, you guessed it.. To the rescue.. I had the CoOp come over look at the options I had, and after agreeing on a very attractive price, they installed an 11kw Generac Generator which has been working flawlessly ever since. The installation of the generator is a beautiful thing.. I happily show it off to people wondering how a job like that ought to be done! In rural Charlton, there is no natural gas line so I have to fuel the generator with propane. Where do I get my propane?. The CoOp, of course! Being a retired technology teacher, I know quality when I see it. I can easily evaluate good work and workers. Mike has been available when needed and a very caring, compassionate fellow to deal with. So, if you want quality work done, reasonable fuel prices and confident backup service, It's a no brainer.. the Galway CoOp! read more

Many of my family & friends have been Galway Co-op members for years to benefit from their growing list of offerings with very competitive pricing. I recently moved into the area and immediately joined to save with their liquid propane & discount trash removal services. I'm a very frugal person always looking for the best deal and so far, nothing comes close to the savings provided by the Galway Co-op. I'm also setup with automatic delivery & auto-pay which is very convenient given my busy lifestyle. I've also noticed their discount pricing for plumbing, electrical, building & remodeling, automotive services, & more. They even offer discounts for entertainment such as Proctor's Theater. This is great given I'm new to the area and will eventually need home & auto repair services. Galway Co-op has already done the leg work for me by identifying reputable companies with discounted pricing, this is awesome!! read more

I've been a Galway Co-op customer for about 5 years now and have nothing but good things to say - very fair and transparent pricing (I can't imagine what another reviewer was talking about with sneaky fees - its all right on there website along with the historical prices for past few years.) There's an annual fee to join the co-op (which is waived in some cases), and a per-gallon price for the propane that depends on your annual usage and whether you own or rent your tank. This transparency was the main reason I switched to Galway - the three or four other companies I looked into made you call to find out their prices and they varied wildly from company to company (between $2.00 and $4.00 per gal on at the time...) Galway has consistently been the cheapest every time I've checked since. Customer service is always easy and pleasant and deliveries are prompt. read more

If I could give this company 1000 stars I would... I have been a member of the Galway Co-Op since 2011 and I have never ONCE had a problem with anyone in this company. I ask a lot of questions, sometimes making several calls in one day and have been met with nothing but patience and kindness. I've been all over the board with needs for my home, from repairing shingles to servicing my furnace and the people at this company have gone above and beyond to accommodate my needs. I have never ONCE been met by any kind of rudeness or shortness by the owner or any of his employees. I recommend the Co-Op to everyone I know.... Its not just a discount you receive when you become a member, its peace of mind as a home owner knowing that someone has your back when needs arise!! Thank You Galway Co-Op... Some of their experiences have been posted on your site. These postings have been put in Yelp's "other reviews that are not currently recommended." category. I understand your policy's, but they put the business owner in a vicarious position. Yelp is arbitrarily selecting which posts will be live and which will not be recommended. 31 of our members would like to share their experiences with our co-op on your site but, are being silenced. .I live in Broadalbin NY .I have been a Galway Co-Op customer for more then 10 Years.For fuel oil and propane.They have always been a very easy company to work with.There prices have been great always below the competition and the product has always been the Premium no 2 heating oil . Which makes service time on you furnace or boiler very easy and always gets a comp from the service tech about how clean your system is burning. It has never been a issue with the Propane part of my service also premium price and great service from a reputable company. read more

We have used Gal-way Coop for four years now. I used to shop around each time I needed propane to get the best price, but now I don't need to worry about that because they always beat other prices by far. I did have an issue once where, as a "will-call" member, they accidentally filled my tank instead of giving me the amount I had requested . I called right away and they made right on the error, so I wasn't stuck with a huge unexpected bill all at once. read more

Clearly the Yelp review system is flawed. The Galway Co-op has been voted best Propane company by the people for 6 consecutive years. But there are only a had full of reviews here, and some are ridiculous, "like "Why would anyone have to pay membership fees to get propane? Their prices are the same prices as all of the other propane companies that deliver propane." And the guy gives one star. I'm saving hundreds of dollars with the Galway Co-op. read more

I have been a member of the Galway Co-op for years. The pricing on propane and kerosene is one of the best. Haven't found any company cheaper that will deliver to my area. Customer service has always been excellent. Very patient with my calls about pricing. As a single parent, money is tight and I need to watch every penny. We've used the CO-OP for the past 4 years. It is the cheapest way to get fuel oil. I also recommended them to my friend, and she says she saves a lot on propane. They offer other discounts/benefits, but I get union discounts through my job so I haven't had to use those. Quick service from the girls in the membership office, and they're friendly. I worked for this company and they are as crooked as the come. How many lies can you tell people over and over and expect a different outcome. The office manager is a narcissist and the worst manager I have ever worked for. The owner received 3 servings in my short 6 month employment. Yes they offer low rates but the morale of this company is horrible. read more

I joined the Co-op about a year ago and have been very pleased with the discounted propane and oil prices as well as the great customer service when needed. Also, the companies who participate in the Co-op have been equally great to work with. The annual fee for membership is more than fair when considering the annual savings it provides. read more

I have been a Galway Co-op member for Propane for 4 years now and everything has always been Great! I live in the Lake George area and call Ferrell Gas for my will call service.
