Pick your own pumpkin for $0.69 cents a pound. They also have after hay ride, hay bale maze, and play set. You can also buy tomatoes, potatoes, onions, squash, and gourds. It is an awesome place to go in October with kids. We spent about an hour there just playing!

My boyfriend and I went together this past weekend. It was definitely a neat place with tons of pumpkins to choose from, however most of the pumpkins were rotten and you really had to search for some that weren't. Also- PARKING WAS HORRENDOUS. There was no one out directing traffic and it took us about half an hour to get out of the parking lot. There also were many vendors to choose from. If you're a family looking JUST to pick a nice pumpkin- this is an okay place if you're in the area.

I've been buying veggies here for 20-25 years. Back in the 90s and naughts, when it was run by Bill & Marilyn, it was super. Circa 2001, Sarah, a worker there, offered me a free puppy and I found the love of my life, a Golden/Yellow Lab mix, gifted to me by Marilyn. These days, the produce selection is about the same, but the help keeps changing. And not necessarily for the better. Today I stopped by to get tomatoes and some of that incredible Gallmeyer corn. Nary a greeting, even when I approached the POS terminal. The girl (first I've seen her) had her head buried in her phone. She deigned to weigh my 'maters, charge me $4+ for the lot, make change, then went back to whatever thrilling entertainment on her screen. Never a smile, no "thank-you," no "kiss my ass," she just interrupted her activity long enough to reluctantly help the gal who had the nerve to require her presence for 30 seconds. Gallmeyer Farms knows how to keep generating revenue off-season, with hayrides, spooky house tours, the straw bale maze, and pumpkin patch activities. I like that because it's great for kids and keeps them in business. I don't expect to return this year; perhaps by Spring they'll have another person at the POS terminal, and I will feel appreciated for my patronage. p.s. The corn and tomatoes were wonderful this evening!

A really wonderful farm, the fall festival was amazing. The farm provided a free hay ride from parking to the farm and back. There was lots of free activities to do for the kids. Also, I thought the prices were the pumpkin was really good deal. There was live music, food vendors and other vendors selling their stuff. It was crowded, but not so crowded that you have no breathing room. I am not sure why there's so many lukewarm ratings, but I for one had a wonderful experience along with my daughter.

Pretty Fall day for the pumpkin patch!

What is Fall without going to a Pumpkin Patch/farm? I had seen recently a lot of people that I knew that had visited Gallmeyer Farms. I decided to check It out myself. The location is good because instead of driving out to Ashland here's a smaller farm located right in Montrose. They had a lot of activities for children to enjoy. Great place for field trips. They have hayrides, free parking, plenty of pumpkins to choose from of various sizes both white and orange. You even got to enjoy the two friendly dogs running around. They had some pretty good deals on their flowers and pumpkins.

    Smile :-)

The children play area is dangerous. Wood sticking out, screws and nails exposed. I will never take my grand child back here again.

It's a good thing we decided to get there when they open because when we left around 1130, the line was very, very long! We got in line for donuts. They were pretty ready. I was put off by a female employee who was smoking while working. She lit it up after walking out of a door nearby. She had the cigarette in the palm of her hand holding it with her pointer finger and thumb. That was not cool in my book. We waited in line for a wagon to take us to the pumpkin field. We waited not too long for that. While waiting so walked into the nursery area to look at all the flowers... mostly mums. Pricing was fairly reasonable. We finally got on the wagon. It was actually a pretty good ride to the field. We were dropped off and have free reign of the field. We could stay as long as we would like. Then we take a wagon back when we were ready. There was some confusion or lack of communication on how picking and paying for pumpkins went. We thought we would pay by weight and not the whole, "pay a set rate for as many as you can hold while taking 3 steps." A staff member was very kind to us when we returned. We were about to go back out and get more pumpkins to make it worth our trip. There was also confusion on entering the kids play area. We had tickets online, but did not realize we needed to go I see the gift shop to get the wrist bands. The ground in that area where the inflatables were, was really hard in the feet if you took your shoes off in order to play on/in the inflatables. We ended up telling our kids to keep their shoes in to avoid an injury's. For us, this was a one and done.

Admission is definitely on the expensive side--especially if you go on a Thursday like we did--since about 85% of the activities older kids want to enjoy weren't operating. The food stations were closed. (We scored a great rate on Groupon for tickets) We did get to enjoy the beautiful pumpkin patch and sunflower field, but my oldest was disappointed that the bounce house and corn cannon weren't available. Don't be fooled by your GPS, you will drive an additional 3-5 minutes to get to the strawberry picking portion. We timed it so we would arrive right when it opened. It was easy to find a place to park. They give you cute red buckets to put your strawberries in (you get to keep the bucket). We spent about 30 minutes picking strawberries. The berries they have here are HUGE! There were also a lot to choose from when we went. You are charged by how heavy your basket is. I'd highly recommend checking this farm out. It's a great place to bring little ones too.

Went here recently with my parents to enjoy the nice day and get some fall activities in. It's nice that they let people 60+ in for free so my parents didn't have to pay, and my basic ticket was $10. The all-inclusive pass is $25 but frankly this isn't really worth getting except for families looking to use the children's attractions like the slide and bounce house. There were plenty of chickens wandering around, as well as ducks, pigs, and other assorted barnyard animals in various pens which were fun to see. The pumpkin launching thing was a blast though $10 for three small pumpkins to fire is pretty pricey. The apple cider donuts were expensive too, 2 for $5 for small donuts. Thankfully the short hayride experience was included in the admission. While this was a cute experience, I think the main draw is for families with young children who would make the most use of all the activities here or older folks who are able to enjoy it for free. Otherwise, there's not much for those in their 20's-40's to do, though I did enjoy the brief time with the pumpkin launcher. If you have kids, definitely come! Others might want to review their other options. --- Overall: 4.0 stars Pros: - Nice staff, very friendly and helpful. - Inviting family-friendly atmosphere. - Free for 60+, not too expensive for others if you skip the kid stuff. - Plenty of stuff for kids if you're here for that. Cons: - Everything is a bit of an abridged version of things you might find elsewhere: very short small hayride, small play areas for kids. - Nothing to do for those without kids, nothing like rope swings or wine tasting.

This farm did seem to have a lot for children to keep entertained & sold clothes, fresh eggs, & other jams, etc. (For kids, I prefer Dardens. The owner loves to educate kids & allow them to touch everything. They have breast cancer pink pumpkins that they donate money to fight breast cancer. They also have great pies & smoked ham.)
