My family and I went here a couple days ago for one of their weekend fall festivities. Such a great place with lots of different things to do for my little ones (toddlers). They had jump houses/slides, lots of farm animals, corn box, face painting and then there food trucks and a live band. It was only $8 for people over age 3 without getting a pumpkin and that's pretty cheap compared to a lot of other places. Lots of space with plenty of chairs and tables setup. Definitely recommend to go there next fall!

We went here for the strawberry and wine festival. There is parking in a field but it is a little chaotic. People are walking in the road and they have cars going in and out on the same road vs. a loop to the exit. TIckets on the day of were $30 per person. In my opinion, it was not worth it. Although we did have a good time. There were a lot of vendors selling various things. There was supposed to be live music but for the 90 min or so that we were there we did not see or hear anyone on the stage. The have tents set up around the perimeter offering wine, cider and bourbon tastings. It was nice to get to sample all the various drinks but the samples were very small and I never really found one that I liked. We did like the sample from the Slippery Fox distillery. I am glad we went but i doubt we will go to the same event next year.

    Failure to social distance

Came here to go pumpkin picking. Employees force people to ride together on a tractor and yelled at us when we attempted to take the short walk to the patch. We complied and they audibly talked trash about us in front of the other customers. Total trash, these people are the problem.

We visited here on a field trip with our youngest son to their pumpkin patch. Both my husband and I went (I even took a day off to go). I am very glad we did. It was so cute! They start out by corraling all the kiddies and chaperones into a theater-type setup with hay bales and they teach them about the different types of pumpkins. In addition to the little pumpk-introduction...--see what I did there!? ;-)...-- there was a corn maze --which was more of a mini parade of children, parents, & children. This was probably a good thing because it would be very easy for a child to get lost amongst all that corn! After the corn maze, we experienced a pig race --which was adorable, checked out some goats, then took a hayride out to the pumpkin patch. This was a REAL pumpkin patch where I literally picked my and my youngest's pumpkins straight off the vine! That was really neat because sometimes pumpkin "patches" are not so much better than traipsing through Walmart's garden center and grabbing one. To top it off they have a farmer's market. I am very much a fan of farmer's markets and I will take a side trip to one if I see a sign pointing one out. The 2 jams that I made were so delicious, I topped crackers in addition to toast. It even sparked my decision to try to make my own jam!

It's a very small retail space but they have good products. Nothing big or special but a nice local spot to visit.

The nice thing about Cheryl's.... all the produce is Locally Grown including those famous Hanover Tomatoes which I love... The address on Yelp says Ashland, however they are really located 1 Mile past Over Hill Lake on Rt. 33 in Glen Allen heading West. The address is 13460 Mountain Rd., Glen Allen, Va. The Produce there are fresh, and about 1/3 less than what you pay at any Grocery Store and some of the other Produce Stands around Richmond. Since I live off of Glenside Dr., it takes me about 12 min. to drive there as it is an easy shot down Staples Mills Rd. Nice little place... Very clean, and I suggest checking it out. I spent about $10. today and I have more produce than what I can eat in a week. The only thing which they did not have was Hanover GREEN Tomatoes. I LOVE the taste of Fried Green Tomatoes. This was one of the BIG reasons why I went there today. Very disappointed. With Tomatoes coming in now by the bunch... They should always have Green Tomatoes on hand. Even if you do not like a Green Tomato, it does not cost more and they will always turn red. I like buying several with some ripe tomatoes because I am not forced to eat all of my tomatoes at one time.... Check it out.... Great small place and you will have plenty when you leave.... :-)

Ashland Farmers Market:…read morewww.facebook.com/AshlandFarmersMarket My husband and I have been going to the Ashland Farmers Market for 8-10 years. It is located behind the Ashland Municipal Building, west of the train tracks. When we started going to this market, it was the only one in the Richmond area, other than the one in Shockoe Bottom. It's open on Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to noon, although, many people are there at 8:30. In the winter, they have a "renegade market" that is open on the first and third Saturday's of the month. It's a small market, compared to South of the James Market, but everything at the Ashland Market is grown or produced locally. There is a good variety, the vendors are very friendly, everything is fresh, the quality is quite good, the prices are very reasonable, and there is plenty of accessible parking. The market is located behind the parking lot, and it is not over-crowded. Since we have been going for so many years, we've gotten to know the vendors well, and what they will be having at different times of the year. It's like one big family there. Things one might find there are: a good variety of seasonal fresh produce and fruit, hydroponic lettuces/greens, micro greens, herbs, a variety of baked goods (breads, sweets, granola, etc.), eggs, pastured/grass-fed meats (such as chicken, pork, beef, lamb, variety of sausages, bacon), fresh cut flowers, plants, jams, jellies, honey.. Occasionally there will be a food truck there, and there is usually live music each week. Because it's not a massive market, it's comfortable walking from vendor to vendor, socializing, and enjoying the day in the small town of Ashland, VA. See their Facebook page for information, photographs, etc.: www.facebook.com/AshlandFarmersMarket

I ordered the chicken salad sandwich, and it was easily one of the best I have ever had! What really elevates it is the inclusion of thinly sliced apples; they provide a fantastic crunch and a perfect sweet-tart balance. You have to try it! You know you've entered adulthood when your friends tell you that you HAVE to check out a grocery store. I was always told they carry everything and were like a bigger Fresh Market. I've driven past locations around the Greater Richmond area and Charlottesville. Over my winter break for work, I decided to finally check it out. This grocery store is madness, but also incredible. We went on Christmas eve so it was PACKED. It was still a lot of fun. It feels like they have every brand or food item you could possibly think of here. My fiancé and I treated ourselves to some fancy and yummy groceries. My favorite sections of the store were the cheese stations (very organized with so many yummy cheeses to pick from), the mushroom section (almost every variety of mushroom lived here), and the wine section (I finally found Lillet). Like Whole Foods, they do have a food court-like sections. We enjoyed some pizza before we started shopping. There was plenty of parking out front. It's a huge place.
