Not until I sat down to write this review did I realize that young woman who helped me from behind the counter at Galletown, was Silvia, the owner. As an American, visiting Madrid, it was really cool to see a US-style cookie shop in Madrid. The first day that I stopped in (around 4pm) they were completely sold out. I returned a few times during my trip to get coffee and cookies for my friends. I love this shop.
Silvia must have thought I was crazy because I kept coming back and taking pictures but I wanted to make sure to share the love about this place. They have a bunch of American staples like chocolate chip but they also have a few unique flavor (like desudo, which is a chocolate chip cookie without the chips) and a seasonal flavor (gingerbread).
This place is kind of off the beaten path but I did end up walking pat it a few times. Their coffee is really good as well and they have many different options to choose from. It is a bit pricey, but I was happy to pay it and support a small business like this! read more
