Delicious espresso drinks, cool event space, beautiful art-covered walls and quick service.

Get the gigantic apple muffin- so moist and delicious!! Really cool vibe, loved looking at the art and old radios while sipping tasty coffee.

Went there two days in a row. Very tasty coffee drinks, great atmosphere and a wonderful place to work remote or study. WiFi was fast for the cherry on top. Great place and vibes were incredible.

The best coffee I have ever had! Roasted on-site in a historic building with ambience and a vibrant local and tourist crowd. The collection of old radios is fun to look at but the pictures of the local area are exceptional. A great place to stop or hang out. Cam back at night for music and a beer and was funky and fun and lord it!!! Highly recommend!!!

Cafe miel + the front of the gallery space with lots of natural light! - A coffee cup is placed on a table inside a cafe with large windows decorated with string lights, seating, and artwork on the walls.

This place is a vibe! I've been to countless coffee shops and this one is truly unique. The gallery space is HUGE and it is dark, but in a relaxing way. Lots of different cozy seating options for visiting, working, or just hanging out. Easy access wifi, too. The coffee is also great! The super friendly barista, David, recommended a cafe miel (honey cinnamon) latte, and it was delish made decaf with oat milk. I'll definitely be back anytime I'm visiting Munising!

Was visiting from our of town - so glad we got to support this awesome local business. Great coffee, delicious donuts and the artwork and blue ceiling were a bonus. #shoplocal The service was quick and I loved that people were appropriately masked and there were a lot of tables with enough distance to maintain social distancing guidelines.

Neat place! Large local venue that seemed to be available to use if asked. I went there for a event and we had a bit of an issue hearing (but that would be the event's equipment). The coffee was good, but nothing amazing. There was no espresso or any alternative milks, but it was a busy event and maybe they were just selling the basics. I also understand that we went right after it opened so they may not have been fully prepared. The bathrooms were clean and small, but they were sufficient. Parking is street parking, but worked for this event, no worries.

Blueberry Hibiscus Tea - A red-colored drink in a clear plastic cup with a lid, placed on a wooden table, with a wooden fence background.

The service was quick and they were friendly. Worth stopping by if you like coffee. The medium roast was bright and smooth and had a nice berry after-tone. If you don't like coffee they offer a nice variety of hot and cold teas. Very delicious and there was plenty of seating. It was a quiet environment and very nice.

6.50 for a black decaf ?!?!? Completely a rip off. Cool building but if the prices can't be somewhat reasonable then no thank you.

Rustic Grounds Coffee - Breakfast pie and backwoods bootlegger latte

Rustic Grounds Coffee

(15 reviews)

5/5 -- A Hidden Gem Fueled by Faith and Great Coffee!…read more A few weeks back, I was riding my motorcycle through Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula on a trip from Maryland and stopped overnight in Munising. The next morning, I went searching for some good coffee and came across Rustic Grounds Coffee Trailer. As I looked over the menu, I saw a variety of great options and asked if I could make a small tweak to one of their specialty lattes -- no hesitation, no problem, they made it happen! When I took that first sip... wow. Smooth, balanced, and genuinely one of the best lattes I've had. I've traveled all over the world, and this little coffee trailer easily holds its own among my favorite stops. Top 10? Maybe not, but definitely my top favorite in the UP! (I'm originally from the UP, born and raised in.) While enjoying my drink, I noticed the cup had the outline of Michigan's Upper Peninsula with the words "Fueled by Jesus & Coffee." That made me smile. Then I saw the T-shirts hanging on a wall by the side of the trailer featuring Bible verses and faith-inspired designs -- such a great touch! This place is more than just a coffee stop; it's a reflection of love, faith, and community. If you're ever in Munising and want amazing coffee while supporting a small, family-owned, Christian business -- Rustic Grounds is absolutely the place to go. I'll definitely be back when I ride through the UP again!

We got an Oatmeal Cookie Latte which was so delicious and sweet and cinnamony and my boyfriend got a Backwoods Bootlegger which was surprisingly bourbony. Not my kind of thing but if you're into a less sweet drink I would recommend it, he really liked it! We also each got breakfast pies which were also really yummy and filling. They have Cholula hot sauce at the bar with the sugar and cream if that's your thing (it is mine!). Super cute spot with some nice outdoor seating. Service was kind and fast.

Grabbed a chicken and an apple pastie. $13.75. However, they do charge 4% to use CC. $14.32…read more Our pasties looked anemic and not the golden color I saw on some of the pastie pics. The chicken pastie was packed with a lot of potato and some ground chicken in between. Should be called a potato pastie. It was quite dry. The bottom of the pastie is super thick and quite dense. I gutted my out. It's dry and has zero flavor. Should have gotten some hot sauce, would be better with sriracha even. The apple pasty tasted like an apple pie. Has good flavor. Bottom of the pastie once again is dense and heavy. The tops are flat and boring. Flaky would make it better. But then again pasties are supposed to be filling and hardy, not flavorful or delectable, or?

A small little gift shop inside with a counter to order your food. There are multiple tables outside to sit and eat your pasties. The pasties were pre made and kept warm in an oven/heater and we received them immediately after ordering. Very friendly and fast service! Unfortunately the pasties did not live up to the hype for us. The insides were a mixture of the chosen meat with carrots and diced potatoes, but it was extremely dry and flavorless. The outside pastry was also very bland and very dry. We had some hot sauce which helps to make it a little less dry, but even the flavor of the hot sauce wasn't enough to help it. The one saving grace was the apple pie pasty! That was at-least packed with nice warm apple pie filling although the outer pastry was just as dry as the meat pasties. Perhaps we got a bad batch, or maybe this is how they are supposed to taste, but unfortunately I don't see the hype of the pasties!

This Miner's "Yooper" pasty is easily within the top 2 so far! The crust is moist/tender and the filling is full of flavor and not dry like many are. There is a lot of beef in the filing along with the other staples. I usually prefer chopped veggies but this was so good, I didn't mind the sliced/peeled version. The service was good. A nice place, easy to see/find. This "Yooper" pasty gets an 8.5 out of 10!

But no need. It all blends so well. The pastry does not crumble apart like a pie crust, but is not heavy. I seriously need to figure out how to make these at home. We loved these so much we bought frozen ones for later. There is no inside seating. There are 4 picnic tables next to the parking lot. Owners have an open door looking into their kitchen. Looks like a few generations working together. I would recommend covering the part of sheet showing the options for the specialty pasties. They are not available during summer months. It would help the friendly cashier from patiently explaining again and again that they are served only during the winter.
