I used Galaxy Stoneworks to replace the countertops in my new condo. It was a great experience. The sales folks were able to help me with design details and took the time to help me find the right material. (Other places just pushed me to the higher priced stone - Galaxy listened and got me the look I wanted!) I love my new countertops! Galaxy Stone Works was a fantastic fabricator to work with, start to finish. Consistency and integrity defined their engagement with me. From the beginning, Galaxy helped me navigate some tricky negotiations with another party, then carried out their work in an efficient and methodical fashion. Communication was timely and complete. Their order management system works very well and all is clearly documented. They asked great questions to help me think through design issues and worked well integrating with a 100 year old house and other recent improvements. The material I chose has large chunks of recycled glass and Galaxy did a great job with color-matching the minor repairs associated with joining of slabs and installation. Jason and Alex were kind, experienced, thoughtful with excellent attention to detail during the installation. It was like they were installing a quartz countertop into their own home. I appreciated their time to explain care instructions, as well as how well they cleaned up the counter. The backslash was cut a bit high but Jason immediately verified the measurements taken earlier were correct and assured Galaxy will correct. We have had many contractors doing addressing various issues during our home restoration but Jason and Alex with Galaxy were the absolute BEST and hope they are the ones who will return for backsplash installation. read more

We did an update of our 1996 home. We had problems with everyone except Galaxy stone work. These people are top notch to say the least. I asked them to put the part of the granite I didn't care for in an inconspicuous place, like by the frig and they did. The seams are hid well event thou in plain site. I can't say enough good thing about the work they did. I had my counters installed in June 2016. Color "brown Persia" in the kitchen and two bathrooms. read more

Ordered granite for our kitchen, laundry & bath. The slab we chose had a random pattern so it had great colors in some parts and pretty much black in other parts so we make an appt. to go back so we can choose which slab we want. Cesar told us he'd have 3-4 slabs pulled out for us when we got there. Well that didn't happen, nothing was ready for us and on top of that , he told us 3 of the 5 slabs sitting there were 'sold' and we could only choose between the first 2 slabs which happen to be ITENTICAL! Then he tells us that same day that we will be getting to utility both slabs for our job so not to worry about not getting enough of the beautiful patterning. Well that was a lie and he denies saying that after we saw the rendition they sent over with what it would look like . IT GETS BETTER CAN YOU BELIEVE IT, READ ON! So, installation day rolls around (Thurs, Dec. 17th) and what do you know, they didn't put the rough edging we paid for on the kitchen slab. So Monday Dec. 21st Cesar tells me they are going to do the rough edge on site either Dec 22nd or 23rd. Today is Dec. 22nd at 3:52 pm and I haven't heard a word from him and I've emailed him twice and my husband has left a voicemail . So what do you think....does this sound like a business you want to work with, yeah me either:( As if Christmas isn't stressful enough. read more

Ceasar and the crew were great! Professional, hard working and polite. Ours was a pretty big job (3 jumbo slabs of quartzite) and the installation took almost 9 hours. My favorite part of the process was that we were able to see different options connecting the flow of the natural stone veins via their slabsmith program... Ceasar also went out of his way to find our 3rd slab that was in Colorado, matching the other 2 from Tualatin perfectly. We highly recommend Galaxy Stone Works!!! read more

We had the pleasure of working with Cesar, Tanna, and Robert on our new house construction. We were pretty worried as our builder had never used them before and we had to move him away from his existing fabricator. They were great through the whole process even with us changing our materials back and forth and repricing several different configurations. Unlike so many subcontractors we had working with us who would come or not come without any notification, the Galaxy teams were right on time for templating and install. Especially important since we had to take time off to be on-site. Turnaround time was good, around 10 days from template to install for the whole house. They did a great job matching up the one seam and it is near invisible, I was especially impressed by the almost invisible seam they put in compared to the wide seam I have in my current house where it is separating now. The pattern across the seam is really well matched and pretty much invisible if you don't stare right at it. We haven't finished yet so I can't speak to after care yet but so far we would definitely use them again. read more

We picked out the slab we wanted, they modeled how they would cut it and displayed it on large HD screens to help give us an idea how the finished installation would look like. But it's the after the sale is where they fail. We have an issue with the sink. That has not been resolved now for 2 months. They do not respond to emails. And when they do, it one excuse after another. My advice, go somewhere else. read more

I'm not happy at all. Just the process is terrible. Lots of back and forth. Unprofessional. Lots of me emailing them and messaging them. Lots of empty promises. Terrible customer service. They ask for payment and yet I had to continually bug them and ask them for eta for everything. It's like once they get your money they just don't care. And on top of that they as slow to do anything. I will have been without a kitchen for a freaking month and a half. Waiting on them. Steer clear if you want things done. Hopefully the craftsmanship is worth this nightmare of a wait. But I'm extremely disappointed. read more

Galaxy was contracted to do our counters as part of a large kitchen remodel. The day they came out to install, we asked them to cut an existing counter to fit w new fridge. One cut, no polish. They charged me $350! for that one cut! A small aside from the big job was all it really was, I thought. On the first visit we'd discussed this cut "might" be needed if the fridge didn't fit. Design guy didn't know what would cost exactly. "Someone else does that" he said. He didn't get back to me with the price. I think he should have. My contractor thot it wd run about $200. I called and talked w supervisors or higher staff twice, asking for an adjustment. They gave me none and said wanted their payment right away. when I did not pay them right away, they told my contractor they were putting a lien on my house. I have paid them their $350. But it makes me really mad. Customer service means you'll keep coming back. I'm not going back to Galaxy. There's better choices. It's a shame that over a small bit of unresolved customer service you lose one. read more

Engaged Sandy Decor in Sandy Oregon to create new quartz countertops for a recently purchased manufactured home remodel. Galaxy became the supplier and has WAY too many forms and files and disclaimers to review and accept responsibility for exacting dimensional sketches. We are simple homeowners wanting to upgrade our interiors, not engineers! I signed off after Perry the tech laser-measured our new kitchen and was given all the exacting spec appliance sheets. Still, when the $7,500 countertops were installed, one edge by the fridge opening was fabricated 5/8" too large and our newly purchased french door refrigerator wouldn't fit. Cesar at Galaxy Stone told Jon at Sandy Decor that I signed off on the sketches and that was that and it was my error. I begged Home Depot to let us return the LG fridge and we were able to order a unit that would fit the screw up by Galaxy (although it took one month!)l Just so you know, Jon at Sandy Decor was willing to pay for a fix, but Cesar just blamed the customer. But he did offer a dinner gift card out for the FU, which never arrived BTW. I can not recommend Galaxy. Stay clear if you are not a rocket scientist and don't read detailed schematics for a living. Ask your decor place who is fabricating the countertops! Big lesson for us. Really bad experience. read more

The following review is my opinion of my unfortunate experience with Galaxy Stone Works in Hubbard, OR: I normally don't write reviews and post them online. If a business or employee is exceptional, I'll contact the management directly and offer kudos. Unfortunately, my experience with Galaxy Stone Works was anything but exceptional. I purchased a piece of marble from Galaxy for a coffee table top after the company was recommended by a neighbor. The piece I liked was too large and Galaxy told me that they would not cut it smaller and if I wanted it, I would have to buy the entire piece. The salesperson did tell me, however, that I could use the excess for a future project and that Galaxy would be happy to retain the excess portion until I was ready to have it cut. My wife and I were considering purchasing a drum table for the same room and decided that we could have a matching marble top cut for the drum table as well using the excess marble. We purchased the larger piece and left the coffee-table base with Galaxy and began looking for a drum table. Galaxy cut the coffee-table top to fit. The work was spot-on and excellent. My wife and I were very pleased. Fast-forward to later. We found a drum table and contacted Galaxy to design the matching top. It took three phone calls to learn that the excess piece that I had purchased was "not available anymore" and the salesperson that had promised to hold it was "no longer with the company". When I asked for a refund for the amount I paid for the excess marble, I was told that Galaxy would not refund my money. They did not believe that the arrangement that had been made with the salesperson was true, saying "it is not company policy to hold remnants". Five phone calls and four emails later, I gave up trying. I was foolish when I purchased the excess marble by not documenting the agreement in writing. It's disappointing when you have to think this way when doing business with a local company that had come so highly recommended by a trusted source, but there it is. Perhaps I could have had more leverage with Galaxy if I were a construction contractor that had spent tons of money with Galaxy for materials, but as a tiny homeowner, I was dead in the water. In my opinion, Galaxy stole my money. Needless to say, I won't be going back. I have researched other marble companies in the Portland area and have discovered others with excellent customer service reviews. I should have done this research before I went to Galaxy from the beginning, as I could have avoided this company altogether. I won't make this same mistake again. (When I informed Galaxy that I would making my experience known on Yelp, Angie's List, etc , I was told that the company would "respond with whatever legal action we deem appropriate.") read more

Terrible experience - unless you like the run around, delays, and false promises. What was to be a 4-5 week template, fab, and install process took more like 10 weeks with repeated rescheduling, delays, and unapologetic corporate speak. I've used Galaxy for a number of years and liked there work and proficiency; however, recently they seem to have taken on too much and cannot deliver on time or with consistent results. I was so fed up with their delays on my last job that I went out and purchased a hole core and finished off the job myself. Their head-office response regarding rescheduling delays was 'they make no guarantee on delivery' so no bill reduction or other financial consideration. If you choose to work with these people don't make my mistake - get everything in writing, confirm dates (have them sign/initial on dates) and put in a clause for compensation if they delay. For me, I'm done with Galaxy. There are plenty of more attentive, on time, quality countertop outfits in town. read more

Amazing experience. First the template specialist (Phil) was amazing, he made great insights into a very uniquely shaped counter top (hour class) and offered superb advice on seams and overhang. Additionally, the piece of granite they provided was beautiful, tons of quarts, tons of movement, and lots of grain. The installation was fast and very well done and the sales staff was friendly, never pushy but always there with well informed answers. Overall I would recommend to anyone. read more

We ordered Silestone for our kitchen countertop and bathroom vanity in February. Now, it is July and the job is not finished. My advice is simple. Ask them if they have someone in the area to prepare the template and install. If they answer no, ask them what days they are in the area. You will need to add the time to your schedule, because ANY change or if they are busy will cause delays until they can return. Read all of the documents carefully. They will email you documents asking you to approve specific items in the document. BUT, if there are other items on the documents that are incorrect, they will claim that you approve the incorrect information. READ EVERYTHING CAREFULLY! If you live outside of Salem, they will show up late. Ultimately, they installed our countertop at 6pm in the evening, finishing up at 1am. They would have been later, but one of the slabs was not cut correctly and had to be re-fabricated. The re-fabricated slab was still incorrect. But, we have had enough and decided to use a different company to finish. read more

We went through Lowe's, who had Galaxy Stone Works do our kitchen counter tops. The Quartz counter tops look very nice, so we are reasonably happy with the final results. But the customer service is among the worst I have ever experienced. The templater came out and did his measurements and everything was fine at the time. We discovered later that he missed a crucial measurement which caused a piece to be reworked. After the template was done, we were told that we were scheduled for installation on March 14th, a Monday. On March 7th, we were emailed the drawing to approve. Guess what - wrong drawing! I had to tell the lady at Galaxy that she sent me the wrong drawing. The next morning we were emailed the correct drawing and I approved it right away. I was told that the delay in approval of the drawing MIGHT delay the project - nothing definitive. I was told that the counter tops had not been cut yet. The person on the phone didn't seem to care that she had made a mistake. I thought they still had plenty of time to cut our counter tops and be ready to install on Monday. My daughter and I spent all day Saturday and Sunday removing the old counter tops, the range and the sink. We were ready for the install on Monday morning. I get a call from Rob at Galaxy on Monday morning telling me that we are scheduled for Friday, the 18th, because there had been a delay in approval of the drawing. I explained what happened - he stuck with Friday. He didn't seem to care. So, now instead of being without a sink, dishwasher and stove for TWO days, we were without a stove for FOUR days and with out a sink or dishwasher for SIX days. So, on Friday the installation went okay - almost. The sill plate that goes on the window sill behind the sink was too thick to fit under the window cranks. They had to send the piece back to the shop to be milled down and come back another day to finish the installation. AND Galaxy told me that they were going to charge us to mill the piece. Their mistake. At this point Lowe's got involved and told Galaxy that they were not going to charge us for milling that piece. Through all of this, no one at Galaxy seemed to care that they had an unhappy customer. The Lowe's people seemed to care, but no one at Galaxy. Very poor customer service. I wrote all of this up and sent it to Galaxy. Someone called once when I wasn't home, but no emails. Buyer beware if you do business with Galaxy. read more

My experience with Galaxy was spot on.....they were on time to all the appts ie measurements and install.....they sent me a photo of my slab before it was cut to ensure it was exactly what I wanted.....these counters went into a 1961 house and there were a few issues when trying to put a new product into an old house, but these guys made the counters look like they were always supposed to be here....there is nothing I have to say to the negative of this company. read more

a friend had good work done by them so i was looking forward to a good experience, as well. sadly, that was definitely not the case. very poor installation practices. the measurement from templating were wrong, they dropped and broke my counter, gouging the kitchen floor in two places, broke the backsplash 3 times (glued back together hoping i wouldn't notice) and left a crucial area (where it had initally broken before) unsupported from below. fortunately, the third time an installer came he saw the missing supports and added more. during this whole process they never once said they had made any mistakes or apologized for their poor practices. i'd consider all other options before having them install a counter again. read more

We had three estimates before we chose a company, and Galaxy Stone Works and Lowes' price was far better. Shahin was great with keeping us informed of scheduling. We updated our kitchen with new quartz countertops, and they look spectacular! It's called Luna, with small sparkles. We moved the center island, (requiring tile floor repair), and the cabinetry is being refinished to a medium brown. It has been a process, because everybody has a separate part to complete, and there are so many components to consider in a remodel or update. Galaxy Stone was the first in the process. Once we decided to go fourth, Cesar quickly moved forward. Precision measurements were done by laser light. The tear out of the old countertops was done on Wednesday and Galaxy Stone had the new one installed on Friday. We were only without countertops 2 days, that's amazing! Their quote included a nice sink, but we decided to upgrade to a heavier gauge sink, 16 gauge, for only an additional ~120.00 or so, I love my new sink, its very heavy and doesn't vibrate when I turn on the garbage disposal.
