He was working on a job and would come at the end of the day. However, I haven't heard back from him around 5 p.m. so I called. He said the job was taking much longer than expected, he would still try to come after he finished. Since it was getting dark, I asked if he can come the following day instead. He agreed to come first thing in the morning. The next day he showed up around 8 a.m. He took a look and said he needed to get replacement parts, he would come back later. But he never came back and never gave us a call. We waited till the next day, another plumbing company happened to be working nearby and we saw their truck, we asked that company to come and they fixed the problem for us right away, so we never called John back to find out why he didn't get back to us.

Nice! Even better was that we bought the lights for our deck steps ourselves and provided them to be installed. They were very high end and expensive. He took them away, claiming that he needed to 'adjust' them to fit. By the end of the week, I was complaining loudly to the contractor that if he (John) didn't show up that day with our lights, I may have to consider having him charged with theft. His son heard this. An hour later his dad (John) showed up with nothing but a coffee in one hand and his phone in the other. His son went out and talked to him in the driveway. John left and came back an hour later with my lights. Did he keep them for a week so he had an excuse to come by every day and do nothing for an hour but be paid for it? Maybe. Did he keep them for a week and swap them out for a lesser product? I really don't know for sure. He told me the gfci breaker for the hot tub would cost $250, when we got the invoice, he charged us double that. He is a crook.

Our water main had a leak in it, pooling water in our front yard. We had called a few of the big plumbing companies, after my husband had done some work digging out much of the intake pipe. None of them would touch the job for less than d$2000. I knew we just needed an independent plumber who could help with the more technical aspects of the job. He inspected the job and was willing to do it for $200 for labour, and he passes on his discount for materials to his customers. The job itself took about 2 hours, plus he picked up close to $100 in materials for us. So, less than $300, though we had done some of the work and we back-filled the ditch. Point is, he was perfect for what we wanted, but could also have done the entire job by himself. Completely professional and trustworthy. What a find in a plumber! His low overhead is one thing that saves the customer lots of money.
