I find it really interesting that after 8 scathing reviews over the course of 2.5 years, suddenly SIX 5-star reviews pop up for Gail Jackson within 3 days of each other (notice that one of them is from someone who hadn't even seen her yet). Looks like Ms. Jackson is trying to do some damage control.
When I read those glowing reviews, I really want to just LAUGH OUT LOUD, because they can't possibly be talking about Gail Jackson and her staff.
I went to her for my first pregnancy. Here's the reality:
1. I routinely waited in the waiting room for at least an hour and a half. Then I'd get shuffled from one exam room to another (add an extra half hour) before Gail Jackson would make her grand appearance, spend 5 minutes with me -- if I was lucky! -- and then vanish.
2. Her office staff is beyond rude. The tall thin woman who sits behind the front desk is hostile and condescending. If she was on my staff (she'd never be on my staff), I'd keep her in a back room and as far away from the public as possible, that's how awful she is.
3. After my second visit, Gail Jackson told me I was having twins. My husband and I asked her, "Are you sure? How do you know?" She scoffed at us -- audibly scoffed at us, and said, "It's my JOB to know." Yep, you guessed it, she was wrong.
3. I saw Gail Jackson three times, and each time it was like she didn't remember me from the previous time. Maybe because she didn't have more than 5 minutes to spend with me. She never asked me if I had any questions, never took the time to tell me what to do or not do, just came into the room, did a quick exam and left.
4. The only positive thing I can say about my experience is that there was one physician's assistant (?) there who was very nice and caring. She found out that I was planning on switching doctors, and at my final visit, she pulled me aside and, whispering, asked me why. I told her frankly that this was the worst doctor's office experience I'd ever had. I dreaded going to my appointments because each one was worse than the last. She nodded and said that she'd heard that a lot. I asked her if she could recommend another female doctor, and she gave me the name of one who she said lots of people seem to like.
5. When I switched doctors, it took months, and repeated phone calls for Gail Jackson's office to send over my file. My new doctor ended up having to do several tests over because Gail Jackson's office was so uncooperative.
6. My new doctor spent at least half an hour with me at each visit, stayed until all of my questions were answered, personally returned phone calls, and helped make my first pregnancy happy and stress-free.
If Gail Jackson is your doctor and your office visits stress you out, find another doctor. Don't hesitate for even a minute. You will thank yourself.
On the other hand, if you're looking for a new doctor and are considering Gail Jackson, keep looking. You, too, will thank yourself.
Like another reviewer said, if I could give her zero stars, I would. read more
