I'm really blown away by the ethics of Jeremy. I researched for a chimney sweep company and there are many four or five star reviewed companies. But Jeremy was the only one that I could verify is a licensed and certified by CSIA (Chimney Service Institute of America). From our initial contact to communication about arrival time, Jeremy was courteous. He came out with Jason and they were both pleasant. Jeremy evaluated my fireplace and told me why they couldn't do a chimney sweep. I'm a total idiot not realizing that my fireplace is a self contained system. But Jeremy never made me feel bad. Instead, he explained very clearly what kind of system I have and how I can carefully clean it myself. And he did this all with no charge. He wouldn't take a service fee. I know he and Jason must've travelled a good distance to get to me but Jeremy said he didn't do any work for me and could not charge me. So they didn't do a chimney sweep for me but based on my interactions with this company, I would say they are reliable, prompt, and trustworthy. I would not hesitate to recommend them to a friend that needed this service. read more

Jeremy was recommended by Okells Hermosa. he was on time, tidy and thorough. cleaned my fireplace. First time ever in more than 40 yrs. amazing what he removed. i watched during the process. used the camera too to inspect all the way up my 2 story fireplace chimney. He recommended repairs, which I postponed. when I called to tell him this he did not pressure me. very redpectful and professional. read more

Anyone who has had home repairs done knows how tough it is to find honest, thorough, respectful craftsmen who know their stuff and especially don't mansplain! Jeremy at Gadsby is just the best. The best chimney expert, the best craftsman, the kindest, most patient person who also answered all my follow-up questions as well. His inspection was clear, his reports thorough and his work immaculate. I truly wish all craftsmen had his ethics and dedication. Don't hesitate to hire him. read more

What a inappropriate company. We had some things per the inspector that needed to be repaired. I did not ask for a full chimney inspection just repair of a few items per the home inspection. The company took it upon themselves to do a full chimney inspection, notate almost $10,000 worth of baloney damages, that we now have to disclose to our buyers. Do not use this shady company. What a f**** Scam. read more

I got inspections and estimates from 3 different chimney companies. Gadsby was the only one that provided the inspection and cleaning cost upfront. Their cleaning cost was a few hundred dollars cheaper than the other two companies They showed up on time, were professional, and the job was done in about an hour. At an additional cost, they patched a hole in the brick and added sand and ember stones. I'm happy with their work and grateful to have found a company that was able to do the job at a reasonable price. I will be using Gadsby for future cleanings. read more

Jeremy and his partner repaired one of my chimneys that was built in 1951. They did excellent work. I am happy also with the appearance of the external repair -very friendly professional team , excellent work, very thorough and a fair price. I would highly recommend Gadsy Chimney Sweep and will use them again. All of these houses built in the 1950's in Torrance definitely could use Gadsby Chimney Sweep :) ! read more

Reached out to several companies for estimates and Jeremy was able to quickly respond, schedule an appointment, and arrived on time. Jeremy spent time evaluating the issue, educating me with the problem, and proposed a solution. Jeremy is honest and doesn't give any runaround to increase services required. I am definitely going back to him for future services and recommend others to give him the opportunity for the work that is required. I wish we had more people like him. read more

A second opinion confirmed my suspicions that these guys were trying to upsell me on some unnecessary repairs.

Jeremy was very meticulous and thorough. He set up a "containment area" for the soot to be captured. He showed me the problems that needed to be addressed and sent photos. He also made the additional fixes with clear instructions. read more

Gadsby Chimney Sweep - Enjoying the fire place. - Chimney Sweeps Near Me

Can you have a better name for a Chimney Sweep company? And then I find the owners last name is Gadsby, how cool is that? Jeremy does a nice job, both my fireplaces needed some extra work and he spelled everything out, including estimated costs. We are planning on some other home projects so the fireplace repairs might get folded into that. There was no pressure selling or disappointment, just professionalism. Highly recommend! read more

Mr. Gadsby did a great job cleaning my chimney. He was on time and efficient. He didn't make any messes and was very clean. I didn't realize that my gas line was in need of a new one and he replaced it and charged me a fair price. He was very professional and I was very happy with his services and would highly recommend him to service your chimney. read more

Jeremy was fantastic!! He responded to my chimney sweep request very quickly, and was able to come out to perform the cleaning within a reasonable timeframe. While cleaning my chimney, he discovered a few mortar cracks, that my fireplace was using an outdated gas line and gave me the option of replacing my cap. He explained everything he would do in great detail, broke down the amount for the completion and scheduled to come back for the extended work within two weeks. When he came back, he was thorough, clean and even finished ahead of the timeframe he said it would take him to finish. As if that wasn't a great experience already, I received a "Thank You" card in the mail for the services he provided. He's efficient, reasonable priced and extremely professional! I will be contacting him when it's time for another chimney sweep! read more

Showed up on time for initial inspection and cleaning. Seemed to be knowledgeable and thorough. When it came time for the report and recommendations I thought the estimate was very high, but he said he would work with me on the price. He said he had to order the recommended chimney caps from the East Coast (very pricey), and it would take about 3 weeks to receive them. This was on 11/18/21. I indicated I wanted everything done in time so I could use the fireplace for Christmas. He said he was sure he could do that (estimated mid December). I received a call tonight, 12/13/21, indicating he received the caps and he could do the repairs and installation a month out from now. I cannot do business with someone who does not keep their word, so I will have another company do the repairs and install the new caps next year. read more

Honest, thorough, and punctual. Provided not only a diagram of recommended fixes , but also supported the recommendation with photo evidence. No upsell, just straight talk, which we appreciated. read more

Absolutely recommend! We hired Jeremy to provide a chimney inspection prior to converting our wood-burning fireplace to gas, and again to return to complete the conversion after the plumber did the pipe work. Jeremy is exactly what you want from a service provider. He gives honest and reasonable quotes without trying to up-sell, arrives when scheduled (early in our case ... but called ahead first to ask if it was okay), does outstanding high quality work, and is both professional and approachable. He explained exactly what he was doing and answered every question we had. He is now our go to Chimney guy for future annual inspections, cleanings, or any other chimney issues! read more

Overall did the work. But increased price by 42% from quote. Also provided misleading facts to my wife.

Jeremy is the Man! Professional, responsive and knowledgeable! Will be using him for all our fireplace and chimney needs.

Jeremy is great! Very reliable and responsive. He's extremely knowledgeable and up to date on codes/what needs to be done to be compliant and safe. He was able to explain exactly what the process would be, no surprises. We contacted him after he did quality work on our friends chimney last winter. read more

I was having trouble with my chimney. The flue is stuck open. I asked Gadsby to come out. He said they do not work on chimney flues. Also, he put a chimney topper that has a value of about $120 charge me a total of $900 to install this thing which took an hour and a half.. also the inside of the fireplace had some little bits of cement that needed to be installed to make it fire safe. He told me if I wanted it to look good. I would have to buy the black paint and paint it myself. He charge me 250 for that which took about 15 minutes.. I had a problem with cold air coming down the chimney. With the chimney topper, I still have cold air coming down the chimney it did not fix the issue.. he told me the price upfront and I agreed to it which was my mistake. I believe I was overcharged and got little results. Sorry, Jeremy. I was charged a total of $1400 for two hours work. I do believe this was not a fair price, but I wanted to get it done so I agreed. I asked if there were any nicer chimney toppers available. He said he doesn't know anything about that. But he's in the chimney business. How could he not have any information on such things? I believe he just wanted to do it his way and charge top dollar and not fix the problem. I'm surprised to see all of the good reviews. I'm not trying to be unkind, but I believe I was overcharged and I still want my flue fixed so I can close it. He's a chimney guy he doesn't fix flues? I find that really odd. Honestly, I feel that I was ripped off. read more

Jeremy was awesome from start to finish. Very responsive. On time. Quality work. My chimney cap came off and according to the weather, there was some rain headed to so cal. Jeremy was responsive, reliable, and knowledgeable. We were selling a house - and the fireplace hadn't been used in years. Jeremey came out - inspected it - and fixed it - so it was in good working order before the sale. He is up front about costs - and doesn't fix things that aren't broken! We lucked out finding him - he'll always be our go to fireplace/chimney guy! read more

Contacted Jeremy for an inspection of my chimney. He answered right away and scheduled me quickly. When he arrived he was very professional and found several issues to repair. He took the time to explain everything and asked me what I'd like him to do, explaining all of the costs up front. Work was good and quick. Can't ask for more than that. Would highly recommend. read more

I don't normally leave reviews but Jeremy was so professional and did excellent work that I have to share my experience. I recently purchased a home in San Pedro that was built in 1980 and probably had not had the chimney serviced in decades. Fortunately I was able to have Jeremy inspect and repair my chimney very promptly. He took photos and documented for all work and reconditioned a very unsafe fireplace into a great centerpiece of my family room. I highly recommend Jeremy Gadsby !!! read more

It took me a long time to finally find someone who was willing to come out and do the work that I needed. When asking for quotes on Yelp I received questions from Gadsby Chimney and as I was awaiting for more quotes from Yelp contractors I asked if he was Certified he wrote that he was in business since 2001 and not Certified and "If you book with me I'll give you a discount". I replied that he didn't say what amount discount. His reply was short and angry as he told me he did quality work and he was not the cheapest guy and if I was looking for the cheapest guy he wasn't the guy for me. I replied and reminded him that I wasn't asking for a discount and that he brought the discount up not me. Did not seem a stable business person. read more

We needed someone quickly to fix some issues that an inspector found during the sale of our place. I called and emailed several companies to give me a quote.
