My wife made me do it. I do not like shopping, actually but when I am spending quality time with the Mrs she goes any and everywhere! I never been to this store before, being from up north I never even heard of Gabe's. It reminds me of a Ross or TJ Max type shopping store. The Mrs said they were not the same, not even close. Goes to show you what I know, men just shop differently, I guess. I perused the Men's Big and Tall section to see what they offered. I saw a lot of brands that I was unfamiliar with, not that I'm a brand shopper but I would at least like to know who's product I am supporting. They had Jeans and shirts and a whole lot of T-shirts? I couldn't under the large selection of T-shirts in the dead of winter! I noticed that they were BIG on catering to women, with a mens section in the corner of the store. No dress clothes, no blazers or sport jackets. Not to many sweaters or dress dress shirts for men but you could definitely find WOMEN APPAREL ALL OVER THE STORE! LOL The store was not very crowded and they seemed to have seasonal items and trinkets that no one use, especially around the checkout area. I did end up buying some flavored popcorn and a pop while in line with the Mrs who bought a gift for our godson birthday party. Not the type store that I would frequent but definitely a great adventure while spending time with the Mrs.

Now this is a huge store!!! So huge you may have too take about 2 hours just to cover every inch of it! Well I visited here last Saturday for their GRAND OPENING!! But sheesh, I found out they had about two soft openings prior to the grand opening!! It really didn't matter because I already had plans to go to the GRAND OPENING and WIN BIG!! Drum Roll please......................... and I did just that!!! For the GRAND OPENING the perks included: FREE Gabe's T-shirts to the first 200 people in line, and FREE $50 Gabe's gift cards (raffle) every 30 mins from 8am to 12pm. Well I thought about getting up to make the 8am rush, but I figured, nah!! Since they had soft openings already, I figured many items may have been picked over anyway. So I arrived about 10:05 am...received my raffle ticket and signed up for their rewards program (make sure you do that). Once you sign up you will receive a rewards card and you can start receiving rewards immediately. As I scan the store, planning my shopping route...the young lady advised the next winning raffle # is... Before I could take a step towards the Juniors section (located to the front right of the store), I heard the raffle ticket number over the loudspeaker and it sounded like my #... AND IT WAS!!!!! I set a goal and I nailed it!! A FREE $50 gift card!! How awesome was that!!! Now let the browsing began... Again I say, this store is huge!! Sections include: Childrens, Juniors, Ladies, Women, Men, Boys, Home Goods, Luggage, Handbags, Jewelry, Shoes...OMG it's a lot. You can find name brands and non name brand items here. The prices are decent, but Gabe's says they are "amazing prices" I say go check it out for yourself. Nothing too my breath away or blew my mind, but it was a fun experience just to see what the buzz was about. The aisle are a bit tight, especially the shoe department. This is definitely a turn off. Because even if one basket is down the aisle it leaves little to no room for shoppers with or without baskets to stroll on by. As a result, if you dont like a crowded store, then please don't come here with high expectations. Perhaps during the morning hours will be your best bet, or when the hype settles. The checkout line was extemely long, but with 10+ registers open on this past Saturday (grand opening day) it moved very swiftly. I say about 30 customers were in front of me and it took about 15 mins for me to reach the checkout register. I think that was a stellar turnaround!! And the staff was bubbly ...very cute!! Guess the were excited for the big day too :) Now if I had to compare this experience with another store, I'd say it puts your mind on Value City when it first arrived to Virginia Beach, many years ago. My shopping experience here was good enough for me to come check it out from time to time. But not like every other day (how I do a certain place :) I did find a pair of jeans that fit perfectly!! And I love a good lift (if you know what I mean)!! The price was right also!! So I'll be on the hunt for that brand in different finishes (colors) :) The store is minutes away from a shopping mall and the infamous discount store, ROSS!! It will be interesting to see how the store holds up amongst it's competitors (other discount stores). Considering this store replaced Kmart that once held the spot for many years, it may do just fine in this current location. It's worth one visit at least to see if you are a fan or nah. Have fun :)

I had no idea this place existed until today. I came here to kill some time. I would classify this store as a "broke down" TJ Maxx or Ross. However, this store is huge! They have a huge selection of clothes for the whole family, only in my opinion they were not of quality. Their toys selection is scarce. They had a somewhat long line and yet they only had 5 lanes open. This is a mediocre store. I probably won't come again, I did buy some random things like melting wax for a candle warmer, and a toy for my son. Their prices are pretty reasonable.

I enjoyed seeing the couples trying to find coordinating outfits, little babies turned into pumpkins and peapods. The attitude of the shoppers, workers, and the staff were so much fun. The store that Spirit Halloween took over was a Pier One so it was very nice. The cost of our customs were a little higher than in the big box stores, however, the quality of the fabric, and workmanship are top notch. I enjoyed all parts of the experience and our neighbors children loved the props that we purchased and displayed Halloween night. As soon as their sign goes up, run in and get the best props and customs. Excited for next year.

My wife and I decided to check this store out for an upcoming Halloween costume get together we are having with some friends out of state!. So we decided to come here. These store are mostly available around this time of year and have multiple locations throughout the area in different cities. This is my first visit but my wife has been here before, not sure which location she visited though. We walked in and were greeted by one of the employees almost immediately so the welcome felt good. When you first walk in the kid costumes are to the left of the store, the registers are straight ahead and the adult costumes are to the right and the back of the store as well. We walked around and started to figure out what we were going to select. I found a costume pretty quick, my wife found hers after a brief walk around. We decided to just browse around after we made our costume selections just to see what other things were available for purchase! We checked other options on line but for the most part what we wanted was the going price on line as well plus in store you were able to try it on over your clothes if you wanted to see how it fits. So overall I believe we got a good value for the price we paid! We would definitely return and I would recommend you check the store out if you are looking for costumes for yourself and others.

I most recently came into this location last week to purchase a lot of blinds for our new home. I thought about hiring a company to install the blinds, but after receiving the price quote, I said no way jose. I figured, people cannot be paying over $4K for blinds. I mean that's like paying a mortgage, car payment, the security system etc. I did some research and asked around, and the consensus was to check The Home Depot. I researched their blinds, read the reviews and saw the price... these were a sure win! We bought the - White Cordless 2 in. Faux Wood Blind - 35 in. W x 64 in. L (Actual Size 34.5 in. W x 64 in. L) by Home Decorators Collection These blinds are grrrreat! The beauty of them, the picture do not do them any justice. My babe had a friend to do the installation... one blind took less than 5 minutes. I have never installed blinds before, only shades. But from what I saw, these are easy to install, you just need a small handheld drill and wahla! I encountered a few employees and they all were pleasant and easy to talk with. The checkout process was fast and easy too. And go figure, someone named Maria checked me out :) Plenty of parking here. I cannot wait to return to see what other great finds they have. Check them out. Have fun and enjoy life :)

They sent out a repair man that could not fix my brand new couch? The chair that goes with it is MIA?? So this is there idea of customer service, they are going to give me back the 200 $ I paid for delivery....and gave me a new delivery date, first they said that they could not deliver until Jan 6th because of the manufacturing department but now they can deliver 2 days earlier cause I'm mad??? I told them if my furniture is not delivered to my house by the end of the day on the 4th of January they can come get every dam piece and stick it!!! They are not the only furniture store in town, so stop acting like I need you......also they need to have better complaint department because the way they do business it's going to be hard to get through to complain with everyone else complaining???? I haven't visited a furniture store in years, and I noticed some things have changed. I remember, maybe 10 years ago, the salespeople would be hawking the doors as customers came inside. But nowadays, they pretend they don't see you, but they do. We entered about 6pm last night, and we were not greeted upon entering. We began browsing on our own... after 10 minutes of browsing, we had to flag down a salesperson for assistance. Not sure, if the hour was getting late or if the salespeople met their quota, but the "pretend you don't see me" vibe was super weird. Nevertheless, we continued to browse alone until the store closed at 7pm. I did see a living room set I liked. I inquired about it... only to find out two pieces of the set are now discontinued... what!? Of all the items in the store, I would pick something that is no longer available. I must say after receiving that news, I was ready to leave. Overall, the store is worth browsing. The pricing is good. But anything beyond browsing... you will have to find out on your own. This store is located near several eateries. Therefore, if you get tired after browsing, you can grab something eat at a fast food restaurant, such as Wendy's or take a seat at a restaurant, Red Robin or AJ Gators. Plenty of parking in this shopping center. Have fun and enjoy life :)
